Great coffee, great food, great service, and great prices. This little family run coffee and breakfast/brunch/lunch shop was one of the best things about staying in the Miramar area of San Juan. Macchiato was a short walk from our hotel and became our breakfast choice every day once we found it(breakfast was included with our hotel room for no additional charge, but we chose Macchiato over that without pause). I’d even run over in the afternoon for a cappuccino occasionally when I was feeling the exhaustion of island hopping and snorkeling and swimming at the blue flag beaches around San Juan. The family running Macchiato is friendly, bilingual, and very good at running their business. I’m a very picky person when it comes to coffee and was thrilled to find somewhere close that could make an excellent cappuccino. I look forward to returning to Puerto Rico and plan to frequent Macchiato again. I wish they were located next to my home in Las Vegas!

First time in PR and came to this place every morning my boyfriend and I were here. Luckily I found this place before hand and checked it out the first morning we were here. Immediately received a genuine warm greet from the owner Rafa upon arrival, which I always appreciate. Then the conversations were just as genuine, it was as if we have been long time friends. The visits were just as if we were at a friends house coming over to eat… it doesn’t get any better than that folks. The food and drinks are DELICIOUS. The first day we had the eggs benedict and french toast since many Unilocal reviews sweared by it and they were right! The second day we had the huevos rancheros and that was just as delicious. Both days we had their special ice tea and the second day had the latte. If you are the type of person who isn’t a Starbucks fan, you will appreciate this coffee because it is not made up of sugar and syrup. Its real coffee. This place is a hit! You have to try this place. I know whenever we come to PR in the future, this is where we will be for breakfast. Rafa and his family are the nicest people you will meet. First impressions you cannot take back and a lasting one is what makes the decision if you become loyal customer. We are loyal. With that said, I am not one to post reviews unless the experience was the best and/or the worst. Thank you Rafa and family! Sorry this is a couple days late and hope to see you next week! ;)

This cute, tiny little place has a lot of goodness to offer. A huge menu. Everything sounded delicious. But too bad i didn’t get a chance to try everything since I found this place the day I was Leaving. We’ve had the acai bowl. It was fantastic! Fresh, delicious and healthy! The smoked salmon omelet with goat cheese it was really delicious and presentation was perfect! … And the coffee was excellent! Service was a bit slow. Since I guess the owner who takes the order, Cook and serve. She looked overwhelmed… But was super nice! Overall this is an awesome breakfast/coffee shop! I highly recommend it

The establishment has a few parking spots, which is nice, and rare in Puerto Rico. Its not very clean, or nice smelling on the inside but the staff is very friendly. I ordered the Brebeja(?), the house speciality iced tea and fruit bowl with granola and yogurt. While ordering, I asked if there was going to be any mango or kiwi in the fruit bowl, because I was allergic to both. They assured me there would not be. But alas, it came out, and there was mango in it. I sent it back, and received a new bowl along with apologies. But then the new bowl, after consuming, I saw bits of fruit that looked like mango. I sped to the nearest Walgreens and got some allergy medication. If someone mentions a food allergy, extra care should be taken, or if unable to, advised to order something else on the menu. The taste was mediocre. The tea was very good but the fruit bowl consisted of papaya, strawberry, granola and greek yogurt. The papaya did nothing to enhance the taste and something sweeter would have been better in order to offset the strong taste of the greek yogurt.

Great choice for breakfast. The coffee is excellent, the French toast is to die for, as are the eggs Benedict. The service is excellent, and the portions are both respectable but not hideously more than a body can reasonably eat. We were also very impressed by the house juice which was a passion fruit mint iced tea thing.

Quaint little breakfast nook. Small sitting room and another air conditioned room with tables. Cute place! 4 people. Ordered peanut butter stuffed French toast, Nutella stuffed French toast x2, and eggs benedict. To drink, Passionfruit iced tea, Nutella smoothie with strawberries, and a macchiato. Everything was super tasty. People were friendly. Highly recommend!

I came here based on the Unilocal reviews. It is decent place with good coffee. The service is like any mom and pop business, warm and welcoming. I tried the m&m sandwich, I would give it a 3.5 stars. But the coffee and the ambience this place provides is worth coming back. Next time I am in Miramar, PR, I will visit it again.

This place has great food & great service! I ordered the French Toast with the fruit on top and it was amazing. Try it with the Blue Agave as your syrup! It was nice and peaceful on this Friday. Try to come on Friday to avoid the crowds.

Came in here around 11 on a Saturday. Place was kind of busy, and the owner seemed to be a little overwhelmed. He was taking orders, making coffee, and running plates all at once. He took our order and we found a table of 4 in the air conditioned dining area. Cut to 40 min later, only 2 of 4 of us had our coffees. After we asked him what was going on, he promptly apologized and made the other 2. He also brought out a complimentary round of their special house beverage(a passion fruit ice tea, delicious). It took another 15 min to bring out our food: 2 sandwiches and 2 acai bowls. Even after all the waiting, this place definitely deserves 4 stars. The sandwiches(turkey, pesto, mozzarella and turkey, salami, mozzarella) were amazing. We almost ordered more to take to go for later. Warrior acai bowls were packed with ingredients and very filling. Coffees were excellent. The owner was very cool and recommended a place for us to grab dinner at. Check it out if you’re in the area, just make sure you have plenty of time!

Cute but tiny little café in Miramar. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious! We were lucky enough to spend our first night in San Juan just around the corner from this little café and stopped in for coffee and breakfast. We had a café con leche which was great and we decided to share a tostada and an omelette. We opted for the criollo omelette which included cheese, chicken, sweet plantains and beef. We opted for no beef and we loved the omelette! The chicken was quite flavorful and perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the plantains. To balance out our savory meal we ordered a tostada with butter and Guayaba. The bread was crispy and the butter and sweetness of the Guayaba melted in your mouth. This is a nice snack to share or just to have with your coffee. Overall great spot for both coffee and breakfast.

Loved this little place! I will warn that if you’re following your iPhone’s directions to this place, its on the opposite side of the road of where Apple Maps tells you it’s at. Just look for the blue building. I ordered something safe: Beefsteak Sandwich. I absolutely loved it. The flavor was great, but also the size of the sandwich wasn’t bad either. It came with potato chips that could have probably used a little salt on them. If you’re coming here to grab something quick to eat, don’t come here. This was the only downside to this place. We figured we’d grab a quick sandwich and it took easily over 35 min to get our sandwiches. Im sure I would have had a much more pleasant experience if we weren’t in a rush, but I would definitely come back again.

I have no doubt that the food was tasty, because from the plates that I saw coming out it looked like it. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try it for myself. Waited an hour and a half without being served the drinks I ordered and the nutella french toast. I got fed up and left. The place is tiny and in the area we were sitting in, it was full. The other tables in speaking with the patrons had been there a long time as well and still had not been served. Mind you, its a Tuesday morning. There’s lots of places to eat on Ponce de Leon, try your luck there.

This was one of the closest places to our hotel, and it was such a great find! Their breakfast menu is surprisingly big for how small the place looks from the outside. We got an omelette and a stuffed French toast. While the veggie omelette was good, the stuffed French toast was amazing — maybe because it was packed with sugar? Nevertheless, the strawberry one was so good. Not too sweet either! The woman working was also super nice! Since we were visiting, we asked for suggestions and she was more than helpful. We tried to go back there another time to try more but they were unfortunately closed. If I come back to San Juan, I’d definitely try to come back here for sure!

Great service and a huge menu made this place stand out. The staff is super friendly and switch from Spanish to English with ease. There are coffee themed decorations around the shop and travel books everywhere which make it seem very homey. I loved both my Acai bowl and my cappuccino. They really take their time with the food preparation and presentation so be prepared to wait a while(but it’s still definitely worth it)! Overall great little breakfast café with a ton of vegetarian options! Side note: Try to walk there from your convention center hotel. The houses in the area are all really nice and the architecture is interesting!

What an amazing find for out last morning in San Juan. We were looking for a good cup of coffee but found much more than that. First, I’m not a huge coffee guy, but my wife loves it and said that it was one of the best lattes she has ever had. The guy who owns the place, Rafa, was so hospitable that he even let us buy a pound of his blend so that we had some good coffee to go home with. Apart from the coffee, we had an amazing tart mint pomegranate tea that is made fresh in the shop. We also had a yogurt bowl called the sunshine bowl which was refreshing and delicious. But my favorite part of the whole morning was the Nutella and strawberry stuffed French toast. Oh my goodness. That was amazing. Totally wasn’t expecting something this great when we found this place, but I would recommend it to anyone. Amazing coffee, food, and hospitality. Ps– I think they also have burgers for lunch!
