My girlfriend and I went to Dragonfly and unfortunately she was not feeling well so she couldn’t enjoy her sushi roll. Our server was attentive and immediately brought some magical concoction over to the table that literally brought her back to life. The food was delicious and the drinks were awesome. The dragonfly roll was unreal. We can’t wait to go back!

Short rib tacos were to die for! All the food was a great mix of Spanish and Asian!!!

VERY confusing menu! We had a group of 8 and were seated right away, so no complaints with the waiting time or food delivery time. The drinks were really good and food around the table was good, but the prices are a bit high. Will probably not return.

The Peking duck nachos was top notch, but the churrasco skirt steak was the best piece of meat I have ever had. Calamari was sauted with onions and quite spicy. Everything was great

My husband & I stumbled across this restaurant and are so glad that we did! The service, from the instant we stepped through the door until we left a while later was impeccable. Everyone was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. The décor is very subdued… dark with funky pendants hanging down, illuminating soft light. Cozy feeling but not crowded. We ate light — just 3 dishes, but enjoyed them all. The sushi coupled with the pop rocks was delightful! Who knew!!! Treat yourself to an experience, not just a meal. It’s worth it!

I was really looking forward to eating here on my visit. I even had reservations made before arriving to the island. Instead of honoring reservations the manager of the evening chose to seat a large group last minute instead. It was a mad house. It’s a turnoff to see the manager running around sweating profusely because she is trying to get customers in and out as fast as possible. She was extremely rude to me and condescending. I’ve been here before and in the past loved the shrimp truffle dumplings. This time they were doughy and chewy and everything was just awful. Terrible experience. I suggest new management.

Setting: Monday evening ~6:30pm, 2 guests Took 45 minutes to get our mojito and dragon-something or other drink. We requested water to be delivered before our drinks even arrived… they were finally provided 50 minutes after sitting down. We simply ordered the sashimi… it took over an hour to arrive. When we tasted it, it was mediocre at best. Room temp– anyone who knows sashimi, knows it should be served cold. I do not recommend this place. It’s in a convenient location in Old San Juan. That’s it.

Stay away! My wife and I were finally seated after a 45 minute wait after our 8PM reservation. It took our waiter about 15 minutes to greet us and then another 30 minutes to take our food order. Then it was all downhill from there. After waiting for over a hour we finally were served 2 of our tapas plates… a crab and seaweed salad and steak fajitas. Those two dishes were on par with any other restaurant. Not bad not great. But…where was our sushi dishes? We had been waiting for roughly two hours and finally I asked our waiter what was going on? «Well», he said…“the kitchen ran out of rice” Really??? Ran out of rice and we had to ask after 2 hours of waiting? The people next to us, who were also waiting for 2 hours for their dishes left and then we promptly followed. For the price this restaurant charges and the service you will receive, you can go ANYWHERE in Old San Juan and getter better food better service for half the price. You were warned

Just one word — milk chocolate pot de crème! Just have jt — amazing stuff ! Their fried rice and lo mein(noodles) were great too. I almost felt like I should take a couple more pot de crème to go :) Their bar cocktail menu is awesome. Good ambience and friendly staff.

Love the Sushi! Excellent Japanese-Prican fusion. Sushi is always good. Love the ambience! This place has been here for many years and is a local favorite. Great for family, friends and business. A bit on the expensive side, but you pay for the whole experience.

Pass! So, this place was suggested from two of my foodie friends and I take their recommendations/suggestions to heart; unfortunately, my experience wasn’t the best. I am always up for sushi and I am always willing to try somewhere a friends recommends. While in San Juan we hit Dragonfly expecting great things and just about everything fell short. With a 8:15pm reservation, we came a little early and were able to sit right away(with a party of 7, I was well surprised they were able to accommodate and make up our table so quickly). The hostess and our waitress found out we were in San Juan for a bachelorette party, not only did the congratulate the blushing bride to be, but they bought us a round of shots. Classy touch. Everyone is a sushi fan, so we ordered almost every roll on the menu. None of them blew me away, but there was a role with coconut — that is one you should stay far far away from. Nothing good will come from that sushi roll. The dumplings were awesome. The service was okay, it was just a bummer that this place didn’t live up to it’s expectations.

Came here with my bridesmaids during my bachelorette party. Sushi in Puerto Rico is considered exotic and novel which was apparent by some of the choices on the menu. As we were a group of seven we ordered one of all of the specialty rolls. They were all edible expect for the coconut roll. Seriously one of the worst things I’ve ever tasted in my life. I would say the highlight was the duck nachos, they were quite good. My review is so low because I do not believe the quality of sushi was there as almost all of us felt ill after dinner. This certainly put a damper on the night. One of my bridesmaids most certainly had food poisoning the day after and I had a pretty rough morning as well. Service in Puerto Rico in generally is pretty slow but they were friendly and brought the table a round of complimentary shots in celebration of the party. Additionally the entire restaurant sang me happy birthday as it also happened to be my birthday that night. I guess the point is don’t eat sushi in Puerto Rico.

We came here with a group of ten on a Thursday, wanting to get some food and drinks. I was super unimpressed! I think this restaurant was having a water problem because they were serving everything on plastic plates and with plastic utensils. It was very odd. For the amount that they were charging for food, this was not ok. Usually you pay a little more for nice ambience, but the atmosphere there was more like trashy cookout than high end dining experience. Unfortunately the food was not even good when it came out. The portions were super small and oily. There were some standouts like the fried coconut shrimp and the fried noodles. But it was about five shrimp for $ 22, which was ridiculous. The drinks were fine, but I got spilled on when the waiter was handing them out, which was not ok. I would never go back here again. When there are so many other spots in old town San Juan, this is definitely a skip.

A friend and I checked out Dragonfly one night while visiting PR. Very hip Latin-Asian restaurant popular with Latin celebrities right on Fortaleza St where our hotel was. We were escorted to our table downstairs. It felt like an exclusive lounge. Very chic and hip, dimly lit with reddish lighting and Buddha décor. Since we just came here for a light meal, we ordered the duck nachos. Pricy at about $ 25 and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations but they were OK. However, I would definitely go back as there were many things on the menu I was interested in trying and the place itself is really cool with good music.

We just finished a second dinner here in 3 days. I can say nothing but PEFECT !!! The atmosphere, the service, the barman(s) and above all: the food. It was a wonderful place to celebrate my birthday. Dishes I can recommend: the Salmon Tariaky, the crispy base. If you visit San Juan — do not miss it !

Asian inspired tapas with a latin influence came highly recommended by some of the crew on board our Celebrity cruise. Free wifi is always a plus! Quite dark inside, thus creating a romantic ambiance. Being late afternoon, before dinner hour, we had the bar to ourselves so our bartender treated us like royalty! The inside is a bit small so I’m sure during regular times they can get pretty packed pretty quickly. We ordered a special tapas of the day to share along with some adult beverages. They really should put this on the menu immediately as it was so very good! A shrimp and crab tempura that was melt in your mouth good. A beautiful presentation that I would order again and again. Took a look at their menu and they have lots of sushi and dim sum items as well as many tapas to share. A few of the dishes are a bit on the pricey side but the tapas was not a bad deal at all. As we were on a food coma from being on a cruise ship, we didn’t require an abundance of more caloric intake. Just a nice place to take in a few light bites and drinks. The A/C was a very welcome addition as many places are open air and can get quite sticky after awhile.

Innovative food with a fresh atmosphere. It is a bit on the pricey side but the food is not bad and is on the healthier side. Decent service. Worth a try.

I thought this place was good but overrated. Several friends of ours recommended it but we just weren’t impressed. We are from NY and so maybe our expectations were just too high based on everyone hyping it up? It’s different in the sense that they incorporate Latin fusion into«sushi», but that’s about it. My favorite thing we had was the boroquia roll(pretty sure that’s not the right spelling but you’ll know which one when you see it). If I could give it a 3.5 stars I would but it’s just not a 4.

This review pertains only to bar service and cocktails — we did not partake in the food or dining options during our visit to Dragonfly. I was with a party of 7, and after a large dinner, we were looking for a spot to unwind in a chill spot for after-dinner drinks. Our Sunday night wandering around Old San Juan didn’t leave a lot of choices, as many bars and lounges were already closed. Luckily, we happened upon Dragonfly, and we were super-relieved to see that the large seating area in the bar immediately to your left upon entering was open for the 7 of us ladies. It’s a cozy, dimly-lit, bar, which is really the perfect atmosphere for so many situations. The banquette seating was really comfortable and the conversation flowed really easily. Our waitress(also one of the bartenders) was friendly, and even though some of us are fluent en espanol, her English was perfect. They do have a full bar, and a respectable beer selection, but if you’re coming here for drinks, what really stands out is their 2-page unique cocktail menu. For about $ 9-$ 12, you have your pick from among at least 15 different special cocktails. I ordered the Dragonfly Punch(see picture), which was definitely delicious. The Asian/eclectic décor, chill atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and great prices made Dragonfly stand out in my book. Definitely worth a visit for drinks, and based on what I’m reading in other recent reviews, their food looks good, too.
