Do not leave SJP without stopping here for mexican food. The taquitos with the cilantro mayo drizzle are to die for. And Ashley took such good care of us all night. Drinks were automatically refilled without asking. Lots of bug screen tvs and great music.

This place is why you came to Puerto Rico. Trust me. Good portion sizes, great drinks and televisions if you want to watch the game. Fair prices, and the food is delicious

Let’s get this out of the way right up front: When we visited this spot on a whim one night, it was full of gringo-with-an-i-gringos. I don’t know how many of them were locals or if any were, but many(us included) were clearly not. Yes, it was wall-to-wall crackers. We ate a little early when we were there, about 7:00 pm, and the place was busy but not full. There were couples and groups of friends and a large family with very young to less young kids, and they seemed to be having a good time, so yeah, good for kids, I guess. The décor is what I would call«nuevo-classical Tex-Mex» with a definite Dios de la Muerto thing going on, bright and festive. We sat at the bar and were immediately tended to by a very friendly bartender. My wife ordered a Salty Señorita margarita, which had strawberry-infused tequila, and I had the Bandito, a frozen/blended peach margarita with chili-infused tequila and cilantro. They were both pretty exceptional, and any time a margarita is made without bottled mixes, it’s a good thing. We got chips and salsa to nibble on while we drank and contemplated our dinner order. The chips were house-made and warm, and came with botha roasted tomato salsa and a verde salsa. I’m usually not a «roasted» anything salsa fan, but this was good. Real good. I could have had a glass of it. The tomatillo salsa was okay to me, but my wife really liked it. We added on some guacamole, and sadly it was a bit bland aside from the heavy-handed load of salt. Either way, those chips bit us in the ass. They took up valuable stomach real estate that kept us from finishing our entrees, which sucks majorly, as our entrees were delicious. The W got pork enchiladas with verde sauce, and I got the steak nachos. Enchiladas aren’t really my favorite, but I have to admit, these were pretty good. That brings us to the nachos. Oh, the nachos. Those same house-made chips, smothered in slabs of veal-tender steak(NOT actually veal, so calm down), cheese, beans, and all the trimmings. Holy sh*t, they were good. I was in Flavor Country. Or, well, flavor territory, but populated with Flavor Country citizens(because Puerto Rico, get it?). In one of the low points of my life, and in one of the few low points of our trip, I couldn’t finish my nachos. They were massive, yes, but that doesn’t usually stop me from working towards a coronary. Our hotel(the CasaBlanca — highly recommend!!!) room wasn’t outfitted with a fridge, so I couldn’t really take leftovers with me. Maybe 2⁄3 of my dish was left to its fate. Please don’t tell my family of my shame. Prices were reasonable, and if you like tequila and/or margaritas, this is your place. They have a fairly limited selection of liquors at large, but a massive selection of tequilas, including their house-infused tequilas. The«Green» in Greengos represents their pledge to being eco-friendly, so that’s a plus, and only adds to my despair over wasting a pound or so of the best nachos I’ve ever eaten.

What a great find in old San Juan! The staff couldn’t be nicer, great décor, awesome tequila and drink selection! The food is more Mexican than Puerto Rican but it was so good! Thumbs up!

The best hot chili Margarita! Fun atmosphere! Drinks are a little spendy but the selection is great!

Great food, the nachos were delicious and the drink options were great, only problem was that a few of the drinks we wanted to try weren’t available at the time. The t-shirts and tanks were cute as well, and the decorations were fun.

Good food, reasonable prices. I went for Cinco de Mayo they promised Mariachis but when I got there, no celebration was going on. Margaritas are weak just a waste of your money. Expected more of a party scene since they are open late in Old San Juan but no it was dead. Also waiter was rude, would never say excuse me to pick our plates up, he would just reach and grab them. Only checked on us once. I finish signing the bill when he had a ready reach for it. I really felt rushed and there wasn’t even people waiting. Very annoying.

I want to like this place so much more. I loved the food and the ambiance. The servers were sweet and fairly attentive. The kitchen is open to view. However, my major issue was that there was not a highchair available. They don’t have them at all on a touristy section of town. That being said I apologize to anyone who had to see us struggle with our 1.5year old to eat lunch that day. It seemed just so odd not to have high chairs in any casual tourist restaurant. Oh well! I guess I will just have to state that my bowl of beans and veggies was delicious and the salads are huge an amazing. I love the décor on route to the restrooms. Everyone should take a walk down that hall. The main space has nice heavy wooden furniture and huge murals of Day of the Dead style skulls and skeletons. It even has a small alcove with candles that must be burned at night during dinner and a statue of the virgin Mary of Guadalupe. Definite nostalgia for any mexican out there.

Really great food. The best we had in pr. I had the veggie nachos, so good! Drinks were great! Service was ehhh. But the atmosphere & food & drinks made up for it. Waitresses are super flirty with all their«assets» out. Lol. A little uncomfortable but it was a bar.

This places deserves 5 stars for the food, drinks, crazy paintings on the walls and good staff. Ended up here right at the beginning of happy hour. The margaritas were half price but still strong and tasty. Nachos here is the best I have ever had and was hard to stop eating. Will definitely will this place again.

The décor in this place is awesome. It’s fairly easy to find. The food was mediocre at best. I just had chicken tacos but I couldn’t eat a lot because the meat was salty. I know it may sound crazy, but the mixed drinks had too much alcohol in them. I prefer a mixed drink to have flavor. The service was good. The waitress was nice and checked on us regularly. I wouldn’t add this to my must eat places in San Juan, but they stay open late and everyone speaks English.

This restaurant /bar is awesome. From the moment you walk in, the art and design of the restaurant is vibrant and original. The staff was very friendly and on point throughout the meal. I ordered a painkiller mixed drink and it was great. The ingredients mixed well and drink smooth from start to end. For my meal, I ordered the pork nachos and was blown away at the presentation and portion size. The ingredients were very fresh and plentiful. The meat was so juicy and fell apart easily. My only complaint, only minor, was not enough sauce for the sheer amount of chips and toppings. I wish this was a local bar because I want to be a repeat customer. If your in the area and craving good food and drinks, don’t pass this place up

Definitely a tourist spot but still a great place to grab a quick beer or check out a game. I advise checking out other spots for more traditional local food.

Casual and fun ambience. Loved the murals, they really add to the atmosphere. Service was quick, plenty of seating. I ordered the nachos that came with lots of tasty toppings, portion sizes were large enough to split between two. Food was great and really flavorful ! My fiancé ordered the cantina bowl which he loved. We didn’t order alcohol but they had a really extensive menu. This place is a great stop for a tasty meal while exploring Old San Juan. Definitely a must visit for vegetarians!

Loved the nachos with pork. I can’t think any toppling that wasn’t part of it. Cabbage, corn, sour cream, beans, etc. more jalapeños would have been great. Had a speciality drink, the Donkey Punch and it was good. Got to talking to the manager about a sipping tequila and he made a great recommendation. Will visit here again during our short vacation in San Juan.

We stayed in Old San Juan for a few days in September 2015. Puerto Rico is a foodies paradise, and there are a lot of great options in the area. We stumbled across this place walking around after dinner and were enticed by the decorations. This is a very laid back place with a lot of character. We only ordered mixed drinks, and they were all fantastic. They do have a rather extensive Tequila for you to choose from though. The food looked and smelt great. Next time we are in Puerto Rico we will need to visit this place again to try some of their good. This is a great place to stop and grab drinks!

Came by to catch-up with an old girlfriend from high school and she recommended that we stop by here for some Mexican food and drinks. The location is great. Very convenient to all of the tourist spots, hotels, and public transportation. If you’re visiting on a cruise, it’s an easy walk from the docks as well. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and I love every single detail from the tiles on the bar wall, paintings on the wall, and even the old-fashioned toilets(be sure to check them out). The waiting staff was great. Very friendly and gave us enough time to look over the menus and enjoy our food. The food wasn’t the best that I’ve had but certainly worth a try. I’m not really a fan of watered down Mexican food but for drinks and appetizers, it’s a sure win. They also host special events for sporting events and I would definitely recommend giving that a try. Perfect ambiance and food for a fun night. Be sure to dress comfortably. The night that I went the AC was not on and it was hot and muggy. Not the best way to enjoy a meal which is why it’s missing the last star. I’ll still stop by again to try it out.

We just came in for a couple of drinks as recommended by a couple we met in Old San Juan. The margaritas were refreshing and love that we got a GREAT deal on happy hour! Our ship came into port in the late afternoon until around 9PM. We hopped on a city bus(free) into town and after walking and shopping a bit decided to stop in for a few drinks. I believe it was only $ 5 per drink and that included frozen, on the rocks and Cadillac which we didn’t realize until after ordering. Didn’t taste any food here but it’s a cute hang out type of place with friendly service. Only complaint was no a/c but they did have fans. Very old looking bathroom with a huge pull string for flusher which was about 10 feet up. whoa! When in Rome! Lighting in bathroom was a few watts shy of about 10 so bring your cell phone to help you see what you are doing. Cute colorful murals on the wall, fun place to hang for awhile. Cheers!

Good spot for happy hour or a quick meal. The service was quick and the staff was really nice. We loved the nachos. It had cabbage on it and had a different taste compared to what we are used it. Their drinks are amazing. My favorite was the bandito. It was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy with the cilantro, mango, and red chili flavors.
