Mavi is a hole-​in-​the-​wall place, you would probably walk by & miss it — but if you have had your share of mofongo, and tourist prices, stop in here for an empanada & a beer. We were directed here by a local shop-​owner, & she was right, the empanada selection is wonderful, and you can take your food out & eat out in the plaza.

I cannot believe there are no reviews on this hidden gem! What a cute place! There is a to-​go side and small sit down side. The 3 of us sat at the bar and ordered local beers and a Mavi soda which the waiter said was similar to root beer. In addition we shared 2 delicious empanadas: broccoli & mozzarella, ham & cheese. We also shared a turkey panini. Everything was great from the service and environment to the food quality. I’d defiantly stop at Mavi again!
