Incredible! The food was delicious and we had great service. The bread that you get when seated is a nice touch. Both nights we were there they had live music. My husband and I ate dinner there both Friday and Saturday night. The mofongo and the skirt steak were the best that we had while in Puerto Rico. The mojitos were great on Friday night and just ok on Saturday night. The pasteles were delicious. It was in walking distance from our hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting San Juan.

Went there 3 out of the 4 days we were in San Juan. The food and service were excellent. There was live music on the weekend(Friday and Saturday nights). Walking distance from the Marriott hotel. Not fancy but authentic. First time I had shrimp in creole sauce with rice and plantains. Came back and got the fish mofongo and the third night the roast pork mofongo. I don’t even know which is my favorite because I loved each meal there. Scoop is grandma is the chef… Well you can’t ever go wrong with that.

We went there around 10:30am on Sunday. My husband had egg omelette which was a heathy portion and ok. I had the mofongo de mariscos(seafood) and it was perfect! I’ve been to PR5 times before and have eaten at all the popular restaurants in old San Juan — raices, barrachina, al punto & others – and this was as good if not better than any other place I’ve had mofongo. I can’t say enough about it! Perfection Tip: wait was a little on the long side it definitely worth it!

The drinks were just plain bad and the mofongo was more like an appetizer than an entrée. The only redeeming quality about this place was the service. The waiters were nice.

What would be the best way to start for this place? Right now you might miss it because it is behind construction. CONSPIRACY! People probably know how good this place is and they want patrons to visit other restaurants instead. I have been in PR for about 5 days now & this place is at the top of my list so far. From service to food, just yes! Service: Every restaurant staff member that we encountered was personable and helpful. Our main waitress helped us or when we did not know what to get, suggesting meals she prefers. I order the chicken sandwich because my sister stole me initial choice(beef steak mofongo). Do not be put off by the fact that this is called a «chicken sandwich». The draining on this chicken was good and the toasting of the bread was complimenting to the chicken. I added their tangy hot sauce and I was in the zone, chewing away. They gave me Cheetos on the side ahaha thanks. I tremors the beef steak mofongo & it was the best mofongo I have tasted so far. Come here and enjoy good food & good service.

The wait was very long but it was worth it! I love love love the Mofongo herew/chicken. My sides were white rice and habichulelas(red beans) My husband had the Trifongo w/chicken, which is green plantain, sweet plantain and yuca. The only thing I did not like as much was the appetizer we picked. It had like 3 or 4 things in it. I can only remember that from that plate I did not like the croquetas!!! I’ve had wayyy better being and being that I’m Hispanic that is my thing… croquetas every day BF, lunch and dinner lol. However This is a must when in PR. And of course all of that Followed by 2 Medallas to bring it down(PuertoRican beer) great! We enjoyed this little hole in the wall so much we came back twice during our visit. Can’t wait to go back again. We live in Florida and my husband was working in Puerto Rico so I came for the weekend. Orozco’s is great!!! Hope to be back soon.

We ate here the last two times we were in Puerto Rico. Everything was excellent! Authentic Puerto Rican food with friendly service. If you are in the Ashford ave area, it is a must!

I would recommend the mofongo. Get it as an entrée rather than the appetizer because you can get it stuffed with something which will give it more taste. Good service and reasonable prices.

This was an amazing breakfast. We walked in off the street and loved the open air setup and very friendly staff(which is the norm in San Juan!). My wife had scrambled eggs and pancakes. The cakes were nice and soft and just a touch doughy. Delicious. I ordered huevos rancheros which is different here. Omelette with onions peppers ham and cheese with house made hot sauce on top. The hot sauce makes it! I asked about it and it’s a secret recipe they sell so take a bottle home with you. Tip — I recommend adding a hash brown to go with the omelette for a nice crunch.

I’m so hurt that I have to give this place 3 stars but the service has gone down my wife and I have been here since Sunday and every time the waiters take for ever to come take our orders. Price is still good and so is the food but be prepared to wait even when the place is empty.

The first time I went to Puerto Rico I ate here and it was so good! I knew I had to come back to this restaurant my second time. This place is really busy for dinner but usually no wait for breakfast and lunch. It was so convenient to come here since our hotel was across the street and food is goood. The best things to eat is definitely the seafood! Must try the fried red snapper and seafood paella. It tasted super fresh and perfectly cooked! The service is also great. Melvin was super cool. He remembered my boyfriend’s name and also gave him cough drops knowing that he got sick the last day. Awesome service. The only time I was a little annoyed was takeout took about 40 minutes. I know it was busy but it doesn’t really justify that wait time.

Hands down the BEST mofongo I have ever had. Definitely get it with skirt steak and add their house made hot sauce to it. If I had to pick my last meal on death row, it would be mofongo from this place hands down. Our waiter was also awesome and the drinks were delicious.

After a few hours of walking through Old San Juan, we went to lunch with a friend at this unassuming restaurant not far from our hotel. «Good choice,» our friend, a native, said. My veggie mofongo was sublime. The plantains were a nice combination of gooey and crunchy, infused with big vegetable pieces and a subtle sauce. I also sampled a homey beans and rice side dish. It was nothing fancy but satisfying and tasty. Special props to the hot sauce, house-made in a big wine bottle sized container. Though it had kick, it was also fragrant and fresh. This was my first exposure to Puerto Rican cuisine so I have nothing to compare it to but I can say it was delicious food in a comfortable room. If you’re staying in Condado, check it out.

Came here with my family because it was recommended by the front desk person at our hotel for local authentic Puerto Rican food. The service was pretty slow as it took them awhile to seat us(even though there were plenty of open seats), ask for our orders, and bring out our drinks and food. We ordered a piña colada with rum and sangria — the drinks were good but you can’t really taste the alcohol in the sangria. For food, I ordered the crab trifongo which tasted good but the food was a little cold. However, I got diarrhea an hour after finishing my meal so I would not recommend this place. My dad ordered the beef trifongo and also got diarrhea afterwards. My mom ordered the Puerto Rico combination and said it was okay. And my younger sister ordered a hamburger with fries which you can’t go wrong with. I also didn’t like the ambiance of this place — it felt cheap and stiff even though the food was moderately expensive.

Orozco’s Restaurant is one of the busiest you’ll find along Avenida Ashford because of its bang for the buck low food prices and all day drinks specials with brands names such Bacardi Rum or Absolute vodka priced at $ 3.00. Orozco’s holds itself out specializing in the Puerto Rico with offerings of mofongos, empanadas and so forth but also offers a decent lasagna dish at $ 8.00 and personal pizza at $ 6.00. Though nothing I’d rave about, more decent than one might expect for the price. On the downside, seemingly like all of the nearby restaurants, the toilet facilities are horrid, downright filthy with toilet paper overflowing out of the waste basket and all over the floor which is in part because of the signs posted requesting patrons not to place any tissue or toilet paper in the toilets.

For great local Puerto Rican food this is a good restaurant to have a lunch or dinner unfortunately I only had one thing on the menu that was Puerto Rican and that was fried bananas my main course was eggplant Parmesan sort of Italian Puerto Rican style there was a line at the door so that tells you the food has to be good the staff was friendly and fast and the price was not expensive to have a feast for dinner anything you order there is good if you were a fan of eggplant try it

Place is great! Nothing fancy, just an amazing meal that won’t break your budget. I used to live in Miami and I am married to a Puerto Rican. We don’t overspend on carribean cuisine when our family cooks it so well. We don’t ever think an rice and beans should be expensive. Pros: great location, good ambience on a Monday night(vibe was active, you never want to go out to eat and eat in a silent spot), food was great, Puerto Ricans do mofongo the best and you don’t get it in other Caribbean islands as much so have that! I never like to eat something I can have in the states that is really done well. Like Italian, I won’t overspend on Italian cuisine in Puerto Rico. Just think it’s not worth it and beneficial to my trip in Puerto Rico. In Italy, all day. They make their own hot sauce!!! Yes! It started drizzling and they figured we might have to move and loved us early. My husband liked the rum Ron Del barrilito on the rocks! Wait staff spoke Spanish and English fluently. Cons: actually what I wanted to write really isn’t a con. The wait was 15 – 20 mins that felt long but really wasn’t! We just waited at the bar. Also it didn’t seem like there was a ton of wait staff, but we got everything we needed. It’s laid back so it felt fine!

Authentic and delectable Puerto Rican dining! I love their mofongo! It’s savory and perfectly seasoned with garlic. Not at all dry like it’s made in most other restaurants. The red beans are also to die for as os the arroz con gandules(pigeon pea rice). Complement it with their house cocktail made with coconut rum, amaretto, and a tropical juice blend, and you’ve got yourself a bangin’ meal with a sweet buzz. Live music on Friday and Saturday nights too!

Great food, spicy and homemade piqué, but the mojito missed the mark. The Puerto Rican plate was great: arroz con gandules, a tamale, and slices of pork. A bit salty, but tasty. The canoa filled with chicken was delicious, topped with gooey cheese and two tostones on the side. The mojito was the only downside– completely pulverized mint leaves made this drink tough to drink — the leaves are supposed to be gently muddled, not shredded so you get mint stuck in your teeth. The piqué(homemade hot sauce) is excellent. Not too pricey, reliable food, and it’s always hoppin — hope to return when I’m next in PR.
