The restaurant itself is georgeous. The waiter was nice took our picture etc., but only checked on us once. I had the filet which aside from the topping on it was quite bland. My husband had the surf and turf and the lobster was absolutely amazing and I don’t even eat seafood. The bread served is boring and the mash that came with the meal was also boring. Overall, not super impressed for the price.

Very interesting and beautiful décor. Felt like we were in a scene from a James Bond movie. Excellent service and food. Numerous seafood menu choices but also beef and vegetarian options. A great choice for a special occasion.

This is a wonderful little restaurant located inside of La Concha and the view of the ocean makes it even better. We came here for a birthday dinner, and tried the Sea Bass dish & the Lobster. The lobster and sea bass were perfectly cooked and it tasted pretty amazing. This restaurant is definitely on the pricey side but worth it. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food came out in good timing!

Absolutely the most beautiful view of the ocean. Food was wonderful, I had the scallops. The couple next to us got engaged when we were there on Christmas Eve. Perfect setting for that! If my future husband(whoever that may be) ever reads this… keep that in mind :)

My first trip to Puerto Rico and this was one of the restaurants we dined in and I have to say I was very impressed. First of all, the view of the ocean is AMAZING!!! It was night and the weather wasn’t all that great but it didn’t take away from the view. I had the pan seared snapper and it was eh to be honest however the truffle mash that it was served with was really good. My husband had the lobster tail and I had a taste and it was very good. The service was good and the ambiance is beautiful. I took away one star because the table they first sat us had a really funny smell(like a dirty wash cloth) and after about 15 minutes at the table I realize it was the table cloth. I notified the server and she moved us right away. I’ll be honest had this been a different kind of night I probably would have made a more detailed complaint but since we were celebrating our anniversary I didn’t want that to take away from the celebration. Overall it’s a beautiful restaurant, delicately placed in the LaConcha hotel and a very nice addition to the place. I would recommend. My table cloth could have very well been a one in a million kind of thing. I’m sure that’s not the norm and like I stated she did move us and the problem went away.

Came here for our anniversary dinner while vacationing. We were actually staying within the hotel that this restaurant is located in. Beautiful views and stunning inside structure of the restaurant. Felt like I was in the inside of an oyster. The food was uh-may-zing. No complaints here. The staff was friendly and attentive. What more can you ask?!

Meh… I came with a group and we were pretty disappointed. Food was subpar & service wasn’t what it should have been given the type of restaurant & resort this is… FOOD: The sea bass was good, but the lobster risotto was bland and grainy(2 of us had it & we both had the same complaints) Two people had the stuffed chicken w/rice… rice was also not fully cooked(grainy) & chicken was bland & One order of the snapper which was also bland Sadly, salt & pepper was a MUST for each dish SERVICE: Made a reservation for 9, called to say we’d be late, they said that would be okay, just be here before 10pm… we get there, they seat us, and then the host comes back to tell us they close at 10pm(even though #1, you told us it was ok & #2, you have already seated us)…to make matters worse, he didn’t walk up to our table to let us know, he said it from two tables over(??? Classless)… AMBIANCE: great…only reason for the second star :/

Wow. Just wow. One of the most romantic restaurants I have ever been to. Shaped like a sea shell and situated on the water — it is fantastic to watch the sunset and also for a later night dinner as the lights are dim and it’s very sultry, classy and beyond romantic. The service is impeccable — very professional, accommodating and friendly. We had the beet salad and the shrimp in a delicious coconut curry sauce as appetizers. YUM. Main courses included the steak and a seared bass with lobster truffle risotto — which was unbelievable! The custard desert with the granola and berries was just OK. Regardless — it was the perfect place to visit on our last night in Puerto Rico and we left so content and satisfied. Fine dining at its best and so beautiful. Definitely my favorite in Puerto Rico.

This is my favorite restaurant during my trip to Puerto Rico. The ambiance and the service are really good. And the coconut curry was very tasty even for someone who don’t like curry at all, e.g. me. I would also recommend the sea bass. And also make sure to get a table with ocean view.

Excellent food and service. The Machi appetizer was delicious, excellent cuts with a very light but tasty yozu sauce. Oyster Rockefeller, needed some acid and parmesan but well cooked. Red Snapper was perfectly cooked with a crispy sear and perfect juicy and tasty texture. Waiter service was exemplary and the view is great. One piece Of advice is get table on outer ring near window as the vents are along the inner ring and will freeze your tail off.

Perla is one of our favorite places to eat San Juan. We stay at La Concha overtime we come to San Juan and going to Perla, at least one night, makes part of our stay. This was our 3rd time doing the 5 course meal with wine pairing. We totally loved the two first times but… Unfortunately, I have to say this time was not the same! The second and dessert courses were amazing! but the other 3… I wasn’t a fan of the cold soup, maybe my problem, the bass with risotto was OK but last year it was much better, and the lamb was tender but not properly trimmed. All said, the staff is amazing, really polite, and ready to get whatever you need. The restaurant looks always amazing and is a great place for a romantic dinner.

We went there on a Friday night, let me start by saying make sure you go while it’s still daylight otherwise you will miss the amazing beautiful view. Be there at 6 pm to have dinner, it’s early but you don’t want to miss out on the view. Now let me say I am a real foodie, I am always out to eat and always on vacation, I have eaten in many restaurants, the service at LAPERLA was one of the best service I had. The staff was polite, classy; our server was so calm, sweet, and soft spoken. The food was very basic, nothing to fuss over and not worth to my opinion the price tag. I had the lobster bisque(good but was a little cold(which told me it was pre made and warmed up = not fresh), my gf had the coconut langoustines(that was really good), they she had the chicken with risotto(which was poorly made and undercooked), I had the scallop(5 huge scallops but no flavors = which I know are difficult to get with scallops but that’s why you need a sauce and good side(they served them with some white beans purée) Desert = Chocolate Cake, the cake was dry nothing that I wanted to eat The restaurant is pretty and the view amazing but definitely not worth it, if you are in Puerto Rico they have so many moms and pops place with delicious food under $ 20.

This is the best fine dining in San Juan. The ambiance alone makes you feel like you are in a completely different world. Inside the«pearl» you get to enjoy the amazing architecture while dining next to water surrounded by infinity waterfall and with a view of the ocean! If that’s not enough, the food was also pretty incredible. Me and my boyfriend were in love with my scallops and the lobster risotto! If you want to see more about this restaurant check out my video

Overrated. The ambiance is beautiful and our sever was very helpful. He knew a lot about the dishes so it was great! But I’ll have to give Perla 3 stars specifically for the food. For $ 17, my ceviche tasted a bit like pickles… I did not know how to react to that. I then ordered their Baked Lobster Tail. It was chewy and overcooked! Very disappointed. I will not return.

Very good food, excellent service, beautiful restaurant, amazing view! We witnessed a couple getting engaged! Here is what we had… Red sangria is to die for! Ceviche appetizer, shrimp coconut curry appetizer, seabass lobster with truffle risotto dinner, dorado(mahi) with salad and mashed yuca square in cilantro pesto sauce. Pana cotta dessert. See pics

Out of all the hight end restaurant in PR. the best meal and views were here! The restaurant itself is so stunning! I really felt we were in a shell .We had a great table where could look out to ocean. My Chilean sea bass was cooked to perfection. My beets salad, shrimp w coconut nut sauce & coconut cheesecake were excellent as well. The restaurant staff was very nice and attentive.

Wow. Definitely one of the best meals I had in San Juan. Beautiful ambience and delicious food. The restaurant, while it looks a bit dated from the outside, is gorgeous on the inside. Without looking too kitschy, it still conveys a vaguely nautical theme. As for the food — The bread is delicious, fluffy, and chewy. The shrimp appetizer is very nice, though the risotto cake in it was bizarrely crunchy. The coconut curry sauce on the other hand, was superb and made for excellent dipping with the bread. I had the dorado, which was excellent. Other members of the table ordered the steak, with mixed reviews. I’d stick to the seafood here. The cuisine at Perla is nothing extraordinarily innovative, but that’s entirely okay. If you’re willing to pay a little extra for good food, Perla is worth it.
