We came here to get some pizza on our last day in Puerto Rico. For the past 25 years, I’ve been fairly obsessed with pizza, so I consider myself to be a pretty astute judge of how good it is. The pizza at Pizza e Birra is top notch. Thin crust pies with tasty sauce, perfectly cooked cheese, and high quality toppings. They have great sangria, too. The service was attentive and friendly, although we were the only people in the restaurant, so I’m not sure what it would be like when it’s busy. They did make a mistake with our order(they gave us mushrooms, which my girlfriend hates, instead of onions), but they apologized and made us a new pizza. This is the place to go if you’re looking for pizza in San Juan.

Stopped in here with my fiancé after shopping in OSJ. We ordered two beers and a medium Italian sausage pizza. It came out fairly quickly and was delicious! We’d come back if we weren’t leaving soon. I recommend to anyone looking for solid eats while in the city. Affordable, too. 1 medium pizza, 2 beers and a soda for $ 30.

Solid pizza and beer. We ended up going here on a raining night because were staying at El Convento and it enabled us to grab dinner without venturing out in the rain. The large pizza was huge and 3 of us were only able to polish off 3 slices(!). Excellent beer selection. Perfect if you need a break from island food.

The lasagna and thin crust pizza was very good. The beer selection and the knowledge of the bartender also very good. Carlos the waiter was very nice and great to our boys. Recommend to everyone, especially with kids.

We had our last meal in San Juan here. Yeah, it’s not Puerto Rican food, but both me and the boy were really craving pizza. Our server was polite and attentive(till we needed the check, then he kinda disappeared), and the atmosphere of the place is calm and casual. Even though we didn’t get any beer, my beer aficionado boyfriend was very impressed with their selection. We got a large pepperoni pizza to split. We also got two small cups of cheese on the side, which we sprinkled on top to make it extra cheesy(if you add the extra cheese right when they set your pizza down, it melts into the pie). The pizza itself was really tasty, but definitely on the super greasy side. Grease was running down our hands and wrists, but we don’t mind greasy pizza. We both thought the price was very reasonable too: $ 18 for a pizza that’s a hefty dinner for two. Oh, and a big plus for any soda drinkers: free refills!

Buena pizza y cerveza. Ambiente de Sports Bar cuando hay peleas de box o juegos deportivos importantes. El lugar es acogedor y tiene buena decoración y ambiente. Es agradable que no sea demasiado grande. La sangría extremadamente cara y no tan buena.

I loved it and service was great! Would go back in heartbeat. Chorizo on pizza was a first and excellent!

Excellent, great pizza, chic atmosphere with soaring ceilings. Ask for a fountain soda instead of canned and you’ll be treated to refills. There’s a great guy that works there(in his 20’s) at night — too bad I forgot his name. My friends and I enjoy dining outside and making him laugh.

Pizza was excellent, service was pretty good. A lot of good options for different pizzas to suite your taste. In a very cool part of San Juan. Highly recommend.

We were a bit over the continuous mufungo and wanted to switch up our pallet so my husband and I stopped into pizza birre while exploring old San Juan. We were very surprised at how delicious their pizza was. I guess I wasn’t expecting it since the local cuisine mainly focuses on mufongo and seafood. We created our own pizza with mushrooms langoza sausage olives and garlic. Truly amazing and mouth watering! We also had the sangria which was the best sangria we had while staying in PR. We had our share of about 3 – 5 diff sangrias. Great service and friendly wait service as well!

Upon arrival, it took the bartender 8 mins to ask how we were and to take our drink order. We noticed he was serving ice using another glass cup(vs a scoop), which is good only if you want to eat glass. Next, we waited 35mins for a Medium 12inch pie… Very small, and paid $ 18 for it. It was warm, the green peppers were chopped with the seeds in, and the provided a cup of cold cheese mozzarella on the side(vs. shredded cheese). Do not come here! You will come out believing there are no good restaurants in the island. Sub-par service, over priced… Pirilo’s(4 blocks down) is well worth the wait! And you can reserve using the NoWait app.

Surprisingly awesome pizza in a perfect location. We stumbled in here after an overnight flight to San Juan and a day of wandering the city and very pleasantly surprised. They had a great beer menu and a pretty good special each night. The pizza was a really delicious thin crust, and the wait staff was super nice. They also have AC inside very pretty outdoor seating in the Hotel Convento; perfect people watching. Highly recommend for a nice cheap meal.

Came here our first night after a long day of travel. We were starving when we came in and waited really long for our food. The waitress mentioned a beer special 2 for $ 4 so we had a few of those and the end we realized she over charged us for beer and a pizza topping that we didn’t get… She was so combative when I asked her about the prices that I was over arguing over a few bucks.

This is great pizza. The restaurant wasn’t very crowded, so service was attentive. They have a nice beer selection(I introduced a colleague to lambics). We shared a salad(the one with mozzarella and tomato — delicious) and a medium pizza with sun dried tomatoes, caramelized onions, and arugula. Delicious and perfect amount for two.

Awesome beer selection. Here is where I was recommended and met one of my preferred beers, the Gulden Drak(Golden Dragon) a Belgian 10% alcohol, with a very distinctive white bottle. The pizza is made with the toppings of your choice, with very fresh ones, and you can add Parmesan cheese on top or spicy pepper !!!

My first visit to PR my brother in the USCG took me here and I fell in love. I fell in love with the ambiance, the food, and of course, the beer. You have to try a Peroni to do with your pepperoni pizza. And don’t forget to add crushed red peppers(just not too many, otherwise your mouth will be on fire for awhile). Prices are very reasonable as well. Bathrooms are outside; turn right and you’ll see them on the right. I hate that they’re humid and stuffy, but hey, it’s PR! That’s one of the things you just have to learn to love is the openness of all the bars and restaurants. On my second venture to the island, I had my boyfriend in tow and I asked to come here specifically. I love it that much on my first time and my second trip did not disappoint. I see some reviews on here putting down the service. I hate to break it to you, but in PR, service pretty much everywhere is very lax and Pizza e Birra has AWESOME service. But fyi, you need to plan at LEAST two hours if you’re going to dinner at a popular spot. My brother’s girlfriend is native to PR and she said that is just the island. You can google it; several articles discuss the topic.

Pizza was pretty good here. Better than I would expect in PR, but I am a self-admitted pizza snob. Good prices and pleasant outdoor seating. The beer menu here is great and deserves 5 stars. Thanks guys!

This pizza place is located at Hotel El Convento, a 360 year old building. We ended up stopping here 3 times in a week because we loved it so much. Everyone who works here is super friendly. They remembered us when we returned. We received excellent service on all of our visits. They have a great beer list and they run a few beer specials. The flour in their pizza dough is imported from Italy. Fresh ingredients, amazing food! Try the wings with the Gorgonzola dipping sauce for an appetizer!
