I ordered a burger and when it did not come out in 25 minutes I asked the bartender about the order. His reply was«Do you want to cancel’? Not… I’m sorry let me check. He was very rude so I canceled and spent $ 50 at another restaurant. Don’t waste your time here. Service(at least at the bar) is terrible. The Mojito was not good either. 3÷21÷16 at 2030

I feel like I ate at a different restaurant than the reviews are praising. I don’t really care about atmosphere if the food and service is good. The atmosphere was cave-like, the seating uncomfortable, and the service was s l o w even though we wound up sitting at the bar. The crab soup had zero crab in it and tasted like crab juice broth instead. Yuck. The mussels were decent but the addition of some bread to soak up the juices would have been nice. We would have asked the waitress for more if she ever stayed around long enough to ask. The avocado salad was lackluster and I should have never ordered it. Glad everyone else had a great food experience but I didn’t find it to be the same. Won’t be wasting my money here again.

Things to try: Aranitas, avocado suffed ceviche(which you have to order off the menu), and mofongo! Very delicious. One star off for slow service.

The skirt steak with rice alone gives this place 5 stars! Small little restaurant, may not look fancy, but wow, authentic, homemade Puerto Rican food. You won’t be disappointed!

We were staying across the street at the Condado Vanderbilt, so based upon high Unilocal reviews we decided to try this place. I’ll admit, I wasn’t too impressed when we stepped foot inside the restaurant. However, the food was so delicious that we found ourselves going back two additional times during our five day visit on the island! We saw some of the Condado Vanderbilt employees lunching there, so I get the impression that locals seem to enjoy this place as well. The skirt steak rice was our favorite. We also tried the mango with mahi mahi. That white sauce was ridiculously good. And also the passion fruit mojito was refreshing! Oh, and don’t even get me started on the plantains!!! The lady waiting on us was very patient and always willing to answer our questions. I’m sure she could have easily gotten annoyed with us, as we knew very little about Puerto Rican cuisine, but she seemed to be eager to make recommendations and explain the dishes to us. Prices were reasonable and portions were large. Being from Philly, of course we couldn’t help but notice the Eagles foam finger by the bar !!

We ordered the seafood mofongo, skirt steak and rice, and an appetizer with pork. It seemed overpriced, but the staff was friendly. Not bad not bad

Being a tourist looking for somewhere to eat and this place had good reviews and nearby so we stopped in. There was not a soul in sight which concerned me and didn’t really get greeted just kinda got stared at until I asked if we could sit on the patio. But the server was very nice and recommended things and answered all of our touristy questions. I saw many pictures of the skirt steak and Puerto Rican rice dish and good reviews about it so all 3 of us tried it. It was delicious! It was a very large portion that none of us could finish but we definitely took it to go and will hear it up later. very yummy. Mixed veggies were great too!

Listen to the reviews when they say don’t be discouraged by the ambience! Food is what you care about and it’ll be everything you want it to be! We were out all day and had a late start to our pre-Vday dinner date and loved that this place stays open so late. Server was great and made some worthy suggestions. My entrée choice was the skirt steak rice and my hunny went with the Mahi-Mahi in creole sauce. Let me say again that you won’t be disappointed. Food didn’t take forever and when it came out not only were we pleased with the presentation but the portions! I mean we could’ve split my entrée alone and been fine, but who doesn’t love leftovers lol! Ordered a strawberry mojito which was also on point.

What is in their mojitos because they’re out of this world! Refreshing, sweet but not overwhelming, and delish! Okay I just had to get that out of my system and rave about their mojitos but now I’ll begin with my bf and I were in San Juan for a few days. I pulled out my handy Unilocal app and searched for a good place to eat for dinner. I saw the good ratings and was set on trying this place. I am so glad we came because once we stepped foot inside I had an instant flashback that we were here 3 years ago with a group of friends. I remembered how good the food and drinks were but I didn’t remember the name of the place. Here’s a breakdown of our night: Food: As a starter off the«Tapa» menu, we chose Fried plaintain with roasted pork in spicy guava sauce on mashed potato. The pork was really soft, tender and pulled, carnita style. The sauce complemented the flavors of the pork well. It could easily be an entrée or shared because of the portion size. Next up, Skirt steak churrasco with side of tostones. It was really good, flavorful and perfectly cooked. The tostones came with a side of sauce which was tasty. Finally, Fried pork chunks with sautéed onions. Another thumbs up dish that my bf really enjoyed. Drinks: Mango and passion fruit mojitos are amazing. It’s probably the best Mojitos I’ve ever had. Even my bf who doesn’t drink at all really liked it. Loved it so much that we came back after a night out on the town for more mojitos at the bar. Service: Waiter was pleasant and gave us time to look over the menu. He nicely gave his recommendations. Didn’t have to wait long for food to come out. Décor: Don’t let the outside of the building fool you or steer you away, it’s a hidden gem of delicious food and drinks. Inside, dimly lit and small but cozy feeling with couple TVs Waiters, you get 5 stars review from me. Everything we had was fantastic! Plus, they open really late. Ohhh yeaaaa! I know where I’ll be next time I’m in SJ.

This place doesn’t look like much, but do yourself a favor and go in. The ceviche avocado appetizer was outrageously good. So was the arroz enchurrascado, rice with hunk of grilled skirt steak. We’re only here for 5 days and we’re planning on going back because it was that good. ***2 days later*** We went back tonight for dinner. Had the arroz enchurrascado and ceviche avocado again. Just as good as before. Also tried the tostones with pork and guava and it was amazing. Warning: the portions are very, very big, so plan on sharing. Oh, and the mojitos and sangria are delicious! This place is so, so good!

It doesn’t look like much from the outside(or inside!), but don’t be fooled: this should be on your list of Condado restaurants to check out. They have an impressive menu of tapas-style dishes, each one better than the last. I especially recommend the crab cakes and the tostones(crispy plantain patties) with pulled pork.

My overall favorite meal I had on my trip to Puerto Rico! Don’t let the appearance of this place steer you away because it almost made me turn around, but DON’T! Just go in! My favorite part of my meal had to have been the Skirt Steak with Puerto Rican Rice! OMG, so delicious & flavorful! The steak was cooked perfectly & the rice was buttery so enjoyable to eat. I also really enjoyed the Ceviche with Avocado. The ceviche had all the right flavors & the avocado was perfectly ripe. I almost finished the entire plate by myself, but I had to stop myself to save room for the rest of the meal. We also had the Baby Back Ribs with Guava Mango Sauce, which were also amazing! The meat on the ribs were thick & juicy, the guava mango sauce complimented the ribs very well. The final item we had was the Breaded Shrimp with Mango BBQ, which was okay. I didn’t really like the breading but the shrimp was so fresh! The service was great & attentive. The food took a little long, but it was definitely worth the wait especially because I think everything is freshly made-to-order. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone, especially if you’ve never had Puerto Rican food before. It was the first restaurant I tried in Puerto Rico & I will definitely be back every time I go back to San Juan.

Great place. Great food. The skirt steak with Puerto Rican rice was amazing. Same rice hey said they’d used for their paella.(so I’m sure that would prob taste amazing too) the grouper was great and the pulled pork over fried plantains tapa dish was great too. Server was nice. Open late. In walking distance from all the hotels around. Good find:)

This was the first stop we made coming to Puerto Rico and it’s also our last before heading out to the airport. There’s a bit of a wait for your food to be served but it’s all worth it, service is great, drinks are good, but the food is the best I’ve had the entire time of me being here(7 days-3meals/day) I’ve had mofongo at 3 other places and no one else’s compares. Everything we ordered was excellent.

Good service. Decent food. We ordered chicken empanadas but they didn’t have them on the menu. The waiter ended up saying he can make them but what we got was a large piece of rolled over chicken cutlet. It was tasty — but not empanadas. The avocado salad was OK. The dressing was great — very flavorful. The lettuce was shredded which was strange.

The atmosphere is cool — it’s dark with candles and nice music, albeit a little divey. We ordered chicken empanadas even though they weren’t on the menu. What we got, however, was a piece of folded up flat fried chicken. It wasn’t bad — just not an empanada by any stretch of the imagination. The rice and beans were really good — both the white rice and the Puerto Rican yellow rice. My sister got an avocado salad which she liked — she said the dressing was great. Also, the fried sweet plantains were really good.

I Loved this place so much that I wanted to go back the following day. Upon arrival, the restaurant resembled somewhat of a sport’s bar and I was concerned about the quality of the food. But upon ordering, we noted that a lot of waitresses and even chefs from the area were dining here, which seemed to be a good sign. We ordered the steak mofongo with criolla sauce and some tostones with guava pork. Both were delicious but the steak mofongo was by far the winner here, and one of the best mofongos we had on our trip. It was so delicious and a huge portion but we still ate it all, and nearly licked the plate. It was sooo delicious that I may dream about it again tonight. The one bar tender was also our waiter. He was the sweetest guy ever and made our meal that much more pleasant. We loved waiter’s and will definitely be back.
