Rebell was suggested to us by our AirBnB hosts for lunch. We were looking for Swedish Cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Rebell checked all of our boxes! Salad bars seem to be a big part of Swedish dining and Rebell’s was fantastic. Wonderful salads and slaws accompanied by fresh bread. The counter service was fantastic. The server suggested the«Burger» to me and it was wonderful. It was reminiscent of fried meatloaf, served over creamy mashed potatoes with lingonberry sauce(think cranberry sauce) and peas. It felt like a delicious, hearty home cooked meal. My girlfriend had the grilled Haloumi Cheese with Fresh Mushrooms and Corn. It was a little heavy on the salt and butter, but the flavors were delicious and the ingredients were fresh. And at around $ 10USD per dish it was the best value we got on out whole trip! I would highly suggest Rebell to anyone and where near the Malmo area!

Rebell is your typical 21st century European style restaurant. Minimalistic and at times even rustic décor, play a great role in establishing a modern, and I might even say urban feel of the place. The restaurant is usually packed so it might be a good idea to book in advance. When it comes to food, Rebell brags with their signature dish — Rebell Ribs and with a reason. The dish was not only large and very carnivore friendly, it was also served in a proper way and most importantly seasoned to perfection. For things to get even better, the restaurant offers a great menu combo where guests receive an appetizer, entrée in a form of the aforementioned ribs, and finally a delicious desert. The combo also comes with three wines or beers per choice, and although personally I am a beer person, I would say that the wine might be a better choice for the food served. Finally the staff was rather friendly, while the atmosphere was very Scandinavian. The prices were a bit on a higher side, but all is forgiven upon the first rib bite. Overall I look forward to returning to Rebell, and would recommend it to anyone visiting Malmö!

Rebell is just one in the row of new good restaurants that are popping up everywhere around Sweden and the rest of the Nordic countries. The focus is modern Swedish/Scandinavian food, often done with some little twist. The place is often packed and for good reason, the food is often very good although their signature ribs are not really the best thing on the menu(I stand by the ribs at Japanese restaurant Saiko as the best in town). They do however often make excellent casseroles and the mac n cheese has been great when I tried it. They do also serve lunch on weekdays and it is without a doubt one of the better lunch restaurants in town. My main objection for lunch is that they do not serve enough food — the same is not true for dinner but at lunch I have often found the food delicious but have had to eat something one hour later because I am starving.
