I think you’d be hard pressed to find a nicer meal for the same price in Geneva. The chicken is always delicious… make sure you order extra gravy to dip your fries in! YUMMY!

Came here for lunch with friends and sat outside (it was really hot inside and it looked pretty cramped). The menu is pretty limited but you basically order the ½ roast chicken and it comes with salad and potatoes. I didn’t like the dressing on the salad but the chicken and the potatoes were really good. And like other reviewers have said, this is a fantastic value in Switzerland at 15 CHF per person.
Service was great, drinks were great, food was great. Solid place.

Arrive at restaurant — Sit — Order roast chicken (maybe a salad with it) with home made sauce & a glass of wine — Dessert — Pay. As simple as that. can have it all under CHF 30.00. Fast service. A must visit for all residents.

Probably the most affordable meal we had while in Geneva and actually quite good! Definitely get the half-​chicken with salad and potatoes. Flavorful and filling! Oh, and don’t forget to get the sauce that you can get as an add on for the chicken… so good! If it’s super hot outside, try to get a seat outside because the restaurant can get quite hot.

I would give Chez ma Cousine 4 stars purely for the affordability, especially in a great location next to restaurants that offer entrees for twice the price! But all five stars since the food was much better than I was expecting for 15 CHF!
Yes, the kitchen is small and the menu is limited, but it appears everyone gets the half-​chicken anyway. And wow, that chicken was the perfect tenderness for me! super juicy albeit a little burnt in a couple places. The chicken is small of course, but I was stuffed by the end of the meal. The potatoes are really bland until you notice the free (!) ketchup and mayo packets on each table, and the salad is basically just lettuce. My mom actually opted for a noodle soup, and it was almost as good as the chicken!
Service was all right relative to other Swiss restaurants I’ve been to. They have a couple outdoor tables, which you should snag if you’re lucky enough to get there when there are open tables at all!

We looked this up on Unilocal and went. Found it easy without having wifi after we left our apartment. It’s in a good location, and the food was inexpensive (except our large soda drinks were 6 swiss francs each!) The chicken dinner was good, and too much food for my husband to finish with a full salad, bread, and lots of fries. I had the Indian salad, and it was quite tasty. Geneva is expensive so this was a nice find, and a good place from which to start an evening walk down to the lake.

This place was fantastic. Friendly wait staff and the food was great. It is not «fine dining» and the selections are quite limited, but if you are tired of being gouged for mediocre food, you should definately try Chez ma. We had the ½ chicken which came with a salad for under 15 CHF!

Je cite ce restaurant, comme je pourrais désigner les autres «Chez ma cousine» qui sont éparpillés à travers tout Genève.
Le truc Blaise, c’est la carte. Pas besoin de réfléchir. C’est seulement que poulet rôti, frites et salade. Y basta. Vu le prix, vous aurez évidemment pas droit à la bête nourri aux graines, aux frites maison et la sauce salade bio. Cependant le service est sympa et le sourire s’affiche. Avec trente frs maximum, vous avez passé une bonne soirée, surtout si vous êtes en groupe.

My friends and I quickly stopped by Chez ma Cousine after visiting St. Pierre’s Cathedral because it was listed as Swiss food on Unilocal,but I’m not sure if you could call it that.
I ordered the Thai style chicken salad, and my friends ordered the Indian style chicken salad and the ½ grilled chicken with gravy (where you pay extra). The portions were fairly big and they were definitely not stingy on the amount of chicken to salad ratio. The chicken in my salad was a bit bland with not much taste and the spicy tomato sauce was not enough to last me through the whole salad, so I would occasionally dip it in my friend’s gravy for more flavor. What I really enjoyed about my salad was the cold noodles which I thought was refreshing and unique.
The service was great and the price is definitely on the cheap end for Geneva.

Excellent qualité prix. J’adore leur poulet grillé. Malheureusement pas la possibilité de réserver une table dans celui de la place du Bourg-​de-​Four et je regrette un peu la carte des vins mais à vrai dire on n’y va pas pour y faire un menu gastro.

Oh — how I love this place!
Everytime I stop in Geneva for business, I am always happy to eat there. It’s simple yet good food. Their trademark is the ½ chicken served with potatoes and salad for 14,60 CHF (add 2,40 CHF for the chicken sauce).
The service is always courteous and you are served very fast. The selection is small but there is something for everyone.
Given how life is expensive in Switzerland, you really have a good bargain for your meal there. Another good thing is that they are open late and accept credit cards.
The space is not super big and it is usually very busy. Expect some noise and to be seated very close to other dinners.

Such a cute little place for a quick bite. Simple menu with friendly staff.
Prices are pretty cheap considering this is actually Geneva. Will be going here many times since its on my neighborhood.

What!?! a Full meal for under $ 20 a person in Geneva!?! Impossible! Ohhh, mais bien sur, it can happen!
Ok, so it’s not an authentic Swiss food or anything, but the name speaks for itself, it means at my cousin’s house, so you’ll expect simple, yet filling food. We got a salad, half of chicken per person, beer, and fries for 14 Swiss francs, it’s a deal.
We had people walk by and say «chicken and french fries!!!» but it’s actually really good. The chicken is really well cooked and the fries were crispy and soft on the inside, delicious. I really enjoyed the salad too.
For dessert, my husband got the mini café with chocolate muffin and crème brûlée. My daughter got the strawberry ice cream, which was probably the best she’ll ever eat, because it was just delicious, even I couldn’t stop.
It lost a star because the service isn’t great, the waiter there didn’t seem interested in serving us and we waited awhile for a table, which we knew would happen. But there were people there just smoking, not even eating anymore, occupying tables. I know it’s Europe and people take their time before leaving a restaurant, but this place was in a rush to get rid of us but had no problem keeping the other people who ordered NOTHING around. Fine with me, I got my meal so I don’t care about anything else.

I don’t know how anyone could give this place less than 4 stars! It is open late even on Monday, quaint location in Olde Towne, friendly service, huge portions, and cheap! The chicken is delicious and I’m still amazed at the price if 14 CHF which includes salad, fries and chicken. It does attract families due to prices so you may want to request a table in a different area, away from small children.
The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the atmosphere as the focus is clearly on food versus aesthetics but hey that’s okay!
If you’re visiting in the Summer or a warm Spring day, sit outside and enjoy people watching and the sounds and sights of Old Town.

Si l’on doit commencer par dire quelque chose sur «Chez Ma Cousine «, c’est que ce restaurant porte extrêmement bien son nom. En effet, tout y est fait pour se sentir comme a la maison, a commencer par l’ambiance, familiale. Ni trop grand, ni trop petit, les tables sont assez rapprochées, les couleurs chaudes et le service très sympathique. La terrasse est également très agréable en été, donnant sur une rue piétonne.
Bien évidemment, la cuisine suit ce chemin. Les peu de plats (un chaud, et quelques salades) donnent le ton: Ici, on cuisine ce qu on fait de mieux, le poulet !
Le demi poulet à la broche y’est bien grillé, savoureux et pas du tout sec Ce dernier est accompagné de frites et d’une salade, bien entendu «comme a la maison»: Les frites se trouvent sur un plateau à coté et chacun se sert quand il en à envie, la salade dans un bol, que les clients mélangeront eux-mêmes.Et tout cela pour environ 15 francs suisses ! Croyez moi, à Genève, c’est du jamais vu !
En somme, ce petit restaurant est parfait pour une sortie entre amis, en famille ou en couple… Mais éviter, idéalement, d’y emmener son patron !
P. s. Surtout né pas hésiter à commander une délicieuse sauce «Chez Ma Cousine «pour accompagner le poulet ! Une seule suffira, par contre, pour deux personnes…

Best deal in Switzerland. No more needs to be said. For under 20 francs you can have a beer, fries, a large salad, and half of a chicken. For the first time in this country I actually felt like I got my money’s worth.

Wer gerne Haehnchen mit Salat und selbstgemachten Country-​Pommes mag, kommt hier voll auf seine Kosten. Bio-​Haehnchen, schnell, lecker, unkompliziert. Durch die Spezialisierung laeuft hier alles rund und endlich mal ein Laden, wo man sich in Genf wohl fuehlen kann und ganz man selbst ist. Ohne Reservierung wird man nicht schief angeguckt, Kinder bekommen was zu mahlen und Erwachsenen wird jeder Zusatzwunsch ohne Gemaule gewaehrt.
TIP: Auch zum Mitnehmen spontan im Nu (5min) fertig.
TIP 2: gibt es nochmal in der Naehe vom Manor und in der Naehe vom Café de Soleil

C’est ma cousine au Saconnex, super accueil, le personnel toujours disponible, souriant, rapide, très à l’écoute… un lieu ou on aime se retrouver en famille avec les enfants, entre amis… Les poulet rôtis, un régal, tout est bon…

Always wanted to try this place but I can NEVER get a seat so today I showed up at 11:30AM, almost breakfast time! Needless to say I ordered the famous dish there, the ½ chicken with french fries, delicious, tender and flavorful… fries were thick cut and tasty… we ordered the «special sauce» on the side which was like a brown gravy. Side salads were good as well. The menu has other salad and chicken choices… chicken is the main item here… I have to go back and try some others as well. The price is a fabulous value, dirt cheap for Swiss standards.

Ok Unilocalers, lets do the maths: A big mac medium menu (burger, fries and drink) is 14.50CHF from the Rive Mcdonald’s; Half a chicken, fries, salad & bread… plus a drink is only 15.00CHF from Chez ma Cousine. Thats with out going into how the quality is a million times better, the service is much nicer and it’s an actual sit down restaurant!
Yes, I might not be able to hide how much I love this place. Many a day working in the old town has led to me getting a take away from here and taking it back to work to eat. Always a personal favourite and somewhere I will forever love.
Hell, I even took Carolyn S. here on our first date… must of done something right ;)

I 100% agree with the previous review. Probably one of the best values for a dinner out in Geneva. It is hard to go out for dinner in Geneva at such a price and have a full meal. You really must get the special sauce though, as it really adds to the chicken, and tastes fantastic with the potatoes. This place is always crowded, and doesn’t take reservations. It is very typical to wait for at least 20 minutes when arriving.

Le poulet est bon, l’accueil aimable et le service efficace. Pour le reste c’est basique.
Les prix sont peut-​être abordables pour Genève mais restent chers comparés à ce qui est pratiqué en France.

Il y a plusieurs années j’y allais souvent.
On y mange très bien pour peu chère, les prix sont même excessivement bon marché. Et d’ailleurs je me demandais parfois comment ils s’en sortaient.
Je sais que c’est une société, ils ont tenté de s’implanter dans toute la Suisse romande sans succès.
L’assiette de poulet et légumes à 15 frs, c’est du bon marché remarquable.
A Genève c’est vrai c’est généralement tout le temps plein, donc je pense, les patrons jouent sur le nombre, d’où le pourquoi du fiasco dans les autres petites villes de Suisse romande.
Mais bon bref; les assiettes de qualité bon marché et aussi les boissons; quoi de mieux quant on aime sortir.
J’oubliais; c’est un restaurant à poulet; enfin spécialisé dans le poulet !

Bön rapport qualité prix. Les poulets sont excellents de même que le fondant au chocolat. On était juste un peu a l’etroit a table.

Es ist gemütlich gelegen und hat einen netten Service, allerdings ist das Essen eher durchschnittlich.
Ein Glas Wein im Sommer, draußen kann ich mir hingegen schon gut vorstellen.

Un bon repas dans un restaurant acceuillant pour un prix raisonnable. Un bon deal!

ce restaurant a des prix vraiment accessible. reservé en pleine saison car il est plein tout le temp. petite terrasse exterieure donnant sur la rue. specialité poulet. on y deguste d’excellente biere… l’acceuil est au beau fixe. je recommande.

Mon avis
3 plats (porc/​agneau à 17fch et poulet à 15fch) ça fait pas beaucoup de choix. Męme si le prix du poulet est plutôt correct (pour la Suisse). Le poulet se veut «+ou –bio», et c’est leurs specialité. La qualité est correct, mais la salade et les potatos (très bonne au demeurant) font quand même sec. Il manqué un petit «jus» qui rendrais ça moins sec. Idéal si on veux manger une quantité raisonnable et de qualité correcte à pas trop cher. A eviter si on veux manger typique ou de «haute» qualité. Bön rapport qualité/​prix pour le coin.

Un restaurant dans la vieille ville, avec un concept à mon avis franchement transposable et qui devrait prochainement faire des petits en France et en ailleurs en Suisse, si ce n’est pas déjà fait. On dirait un concept de franchise. Tout ici est au poulet, mais rien à voir avec le bourratif KFC: ici c’est poulet braisé avec pommes à la provencale et salade verte. Le tout pour 10 euros et moins. Pour madame, une salade thaïlandaise avec des vermicelles, originale: un concept, une ambiance, des prix corrects, un service sympa, franchement rien à redire, à conseiller.

Schöné Beiz am Place du Bourg-​de-​Four. Im Sommer kann man prima draussen auf der Terrasse sitzen und das Essen geniessen.
Oder einfach bei einem guten Glas Wein den Leuten beim Flanieren und Diskutieren zuschauen.
Zentral gelegen im Heren der Altstadt.

Concept intéressant, mais la carte est un peu pauvre. De plus les plats né sont pas excellents, je trouve un peu cher pour ce que l’on mange. Mais l’ambiance y est très sympatique.

Idée très sympa des variations autour du poulet ! Restaurant très bien situé dans la vieille ville. Seul bémol: restaurant un peu petit… Autrement, bon rapport qualité prix. Idéal pour les étudiants ou pour les fins de mois.
