What a great experience! After having problems to eat at the Hotel de Ville restaurant, we find this gem in our walking down the Vielle Ville in Geneve in a sunny saturday afternoon of April. It was perfect: service, place, table outside, and great food. I had the terrine maison lapin that come with a tasty and fresh salad. This was supposedly an appetizer but was so tasty and big that ended up as my main course. And my husband had the cochon fermier, that he enjoyed deeply. The recommended rosé wine was also very good. All together we spent around $ 85 dollars to splendid meal and wine for 2 in the Old City in Geneve(a very, very expensive city). All together, a 5 star experience. Highly recommended.

Je n’avais jamais été à Genève et j’ai eu de la chance à déjeuner chez cette excellente brasserie. En effet, moi je n’adore pas du tout la viande mais il y a une très grande variété de plats, comme le filet de perche. Très bon aussi le Chardonnay local et une crème bruléeje n’en ai jamais gouté une si bonne! Personnel sérieux et gentil. Il faut absolument y aller si on visite la vieille Genève.

on a great little square in Old town Geneva. I stumbled upon this place just waking around and was a little suspicious since it was quite empty. Although it was a Tuesday evening and a bit early. Service was attentive and and they humored me with my non-native french skills, read: «I really don’t speak French» Anyway, I ordered the chorizo stuffed chicken and it was fantastic! Perfectly cooked juicy chicken, i couldn’t have asked for a more tasty dish. Next time perhaps, I’ll try the pig’s trotters, but for this time around, they served up a great meal with great service. As I sat there the place filled up, mostly with local folks, so I think it’s pretty well regarded. As with everything in Geneva, it’s $s compared to what you may be used to if you are from the states.

One of my favorite restaurants in Geneva. Au Pied de Cochon is ideally located in the old town and is always extremely busy at lunch time(lots of judges and lawyers from the court house right across the street). Still, their cuisine is always excellent and reliable(I have been going there since 1996!). During our last trip, we had the choucroute and the pot au feu, both delicious. Service, like anywhere else in Geneva, is on the slow side but the dishes are worth it.

A chain, however, nothing like and American chain restaurant. It has fresh delicious food that is prepared to perfection. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for at this place. Ambience and service is fantastic for a group. Check out their website and menu. This one is located in the Old Town a top of the hill, its a nice spot to stop for a bite.

Fact of life: eating well in Geneva is not a particularly cheap pastime. However, this charming little restaurant in the hottest of locations — the Vieux Ville(old town) quarter of Geneva, at the foot of the Cathedral — is a real exception to the rule. Main courses, such as Steak Frites(in this case, feather steak and elegantly tiny frites with shallot gravy and vegetables) or the Rabbit millefeuille with sweet onions come in at around £20, which is pretty darned good. And they are deliciously well-prepared and presented! The restaurant is beautifully decored in traditional yet informal swiss style. Service is fast and friendly

Spécial dédicace aux porcins… Un restaurant dédié à tous les attraits d’un repas avec pour thème le cochon dans tous ses états. Ce restaurant est situé dans la vieille ville, dans un cadre très sympa et où les ruelles sembles trop petites. Sur la Place du Bourg-de-Four, et proche de l’église Saint Pierre. Prix assez honnête et cuisine raffinée malgré la lourdeur des plats proposés…
