La Maison du Gateau

La Maison du Gâteau has several locations in Geneva and Nyon. They recently just opened a small take away shop in the underground Metro Shopping complex attached to the Geneva train station. You will only find tea and cakes at this shop. You can either buy macaroons, tranches (slices) of Gâteau (cake), or full size Gâteau. I am familiar with the Nyon location and how yummy their cakes are. I have been avoiding this place like the plague, as it is TOO easy to pick up a sweet item here on the way to catch a train, and I don’t have enough time in a day to work off all the calories. However, I gave in today, my sweet tooth took control, and I stepped in to take a peek, and walked away with a yummy looking slice of dark chocolate coconut cake. I was not disappointed. The amazing taste of the Nyon cakes, holds true here. I savoured every bite of my cake, and eat it ever so slowly. It is definitely a taste of heaven, yet sinfully delicious to the waistline.
