The best. Friendly service. Good food. Good booze. Good family atmosphere. The kids love the pizza Nutella. The parents love the big menus and choice of wines.

Great outside seating available. Pizza was unique and very tasty. Very close to the jet d’eau. Place is very busy but the service was excellent and we got our food quickly.

C’est très cher, le service est stresse à mort et les mets sont bâclés. Bref victime de son succès. Et né fait plus les pizzas à l’emporter. J’y vais plus.

I have been going there for many years, I live right up the street. Food is absolutely delicious. Even though the place is always packed, they always manage to get me a table.

This was full on late Sunday evening, and obviously popular. We ordered their fish dish, pizza and pasta(ravioli) and all three were very good. The portions were generous too(U.S. style), and the three of us had more than our fill. Good and polite service. We paid 29 Sw. Fr. each without drinks or dessert and that seemed reasonable for this locality and type of food and ambience. The tables were set very close to each other(to pack in as many patrons as possible) but this was outweighed by the positives. Some UN employees from USA long based in Geneva had recommended this as their favorite place, and we can see why.

We came here somewhat skeptically, but they were able to accommodate a large group and so we went. Great choice. The place was packed on a Wednesday and we wound up eating in the covered terrace area. I had the osso bucco and pasta which were excellent, the marrow ambrosia. Pasta was perfectly done and the pizza crust was crisp and expertly created. One of the diners didn’t care much for the rice with fruit de la mer, but everyone else raved about their choices. It didn’t even feel like the typical sterile Geneva eatery. Service was gracious as you expect here. This is probably the ‘go to’ Italian in the downtown area.

Bön mais il y a trop de monde, victime de son succès ce restaurant pizzeria à trop de clients. On mange et des gens nous regarde manger ca ils attendent la place. Les pizzas sont bonnes mais le vendredi et le samedi il y a trop de monde.

A lot of people are crazy about this place but I’m not. I found the pizzas and pasta good but nothing else. Maybe I expected too much as so many people like the place. I was expecting to have something that stands out due to its fame that it didn’t happen. The place is very lively and I find the tables quite too close to each other as it’s usually crowded. Not at all a relaxed atmosphere. A lot of people go there often and it’s a restaurant everyone knows in town.

Great Pizza. I particularly like this restaurant because of the atmosphere, it makes this place stand out. It’s very dark, and could be compared with a little oven because of the heat that is formed and the lack of light. Prices are at level with Geneva. Overall, not anything out of this world, but the great atmosphere and service are what make this such a popular restaurant.

I’ve had pizza here a couple of times and its been quite good. It’s a thin crust, perhaps slightly thicker than Neapolitan style, with some nice char on the crust and quality toppings. Price is on par for Geneva. Service is attentive. Overall, while you probably are not going to have the best pizza of your life here, it is very solid and you’ll have no regrets ordering one.

Excellent food, nice atmosphere and good service makes this such a popular restaurant. No reservations so first come, first seated. I’ve been there over six times and always leave satisfied

Really a great Italian restaurant. The food that we had was excellent and the personnel was very welcoming. You cannot book a table in advance at this restaurant so we just went there on a Thursday evening and the waiter took immediately care of us and found us a nice table. He was able to give us good recommendations regarding wine and the dishes. The place has, moreover, a nice atmosphere. A little bit on the rustic side as to what regards decoration but it certainly has its charme. The place is always packed as far as I know which I think adds to the nice atmosphere and somehow indicates that their food is appreciated. A big plus is the fact that they are open on Sundays, which is, oddly enough, often not the case in Geneva! Prices might be slightly higher than at other places but it is worth it.

I like Da Paolo. I come here a lot with friends. The food is ok, not fantastic, but pretty good. The atmosphere is lively. Waiters always keep their cool and friendly nature despite the restaurant getting very crowded sometimes. As others mentioned, Da Paolo is almost always open, even on Sundays, which is always a plus(and a rare thing in Geneva) — if im not mistaken, on sundays they serve only pizza from 2pm to 6pm. The beef tartar here is nice. Pizza is ok, not the best in Geneva. Some of my friends insist Da Paolo has best pizza in Geneva but i’m afraid i strongly disagree. Veal milanaise is a popular choice as well.

In Italy you can definitely get better pizza, but for Geneva this is pretty good, and the price is ok for what you get. We have been there a couple of times and enjoyed the atmosphere, also the pasta and salad was good. Another big plus is that you cannot make reservations, so on busy nights there is often a chance that if you’re willing to wait you will get a table. We once also had the tiramisu and it was very good. I don’t think you can sit outside, but it might have changed…

So happy we found this place first night in so a little tired and hungry and nearly gave up. We arrived and it was empty making me suspicious the reviews might have been suspect. But within 30 minutes it was busy and by the time we left it was full. The food was excellent. Just some simple focaccia to start but it was light and crisp and came with excellent quality olive oil and balsamic. My wife had a Neopolitan Pizza which again was crisp and light with a lovely topping. My Tagliolini alla Calabrese was tasty and cooked perfectly. Pricing is relative Geneva is amogst the most expensive cities we’ve ever visited. But for the region, this was excellent food and well priced. Would return if we ever go back looking forward to it in fact.

As is typical in Geneva, to go out and eat, is not cheap. The challenge in Geneva and in Switzerland, is to find a price that matches the quality of the food you are eating. For a pizza you are looking at paying around 22CHF. I have eaten at several Italian restaurants in Geneva and my favorites so far are Lugia and Da Paulo. They offer much more than pizza here, but I can’t help but get it each time as it is very good. They also offer a nice salad.

Une des pizzerias les plus anciennes de Genève. personnellement, c’est un établissement convivial, où l’on mange très bien. les pizzas sont cuites au feu de bois. Je le recommande très volontiers.

Probably the best pizza in Geneva, and it shows, as Da Paola is almost always packed. The dining room has a rustic feeling, but it’s not a place to go for a quiet, romantic evening, as it’s pretty loud due to the crowds. I love the pizza with spicy salami, or with arugula and prosciutto.

went there with friends for pizza and I was amazed with very friendly, classic italian atmosphere with open fire place, freshly made pizza. During lunch time is very difficult to get place there so I recommend to between prime times.

I’ve been going there for too many years too mention. And as often I often do, I went at Da Paolo for a Sunday lunch. After having wasted half an hour to find a parking space, we eventually managed to make it to Da Paolo. As usual it was full, even if it was already nearly 2pm(Swiss eat rather early)! Anyway, being only two it’s always easier to be seated quickly. We ordered a pizza with gorgonzal, chilly and salami. It was a good, though a bit dry, the service good and the coffee always good. The only problem today was that we were sitting at the back of the restaurant and it was awfully warm, too much food smell, and a heavy smoker sitting next to us. Hopefully the smoke free law will be soon put back in place. At the end of the day it remain a very nice place, good food, a bit more expensive than some other pizzerias, but success must have it’s share in that and you can eat all day on Sunday, which is great.
