This is a great budget hotel! Short walk to the downtown area/train station and free Wifi. Completely agree with everything the other reviewer(Laura) said so I won’t rehash it again. We didn’t realize the extent of what«budget» meant so we had to buy a small bottle of shampoo at the desk. They also sell swiss converters in a vending machine in the lobby area(as well as Heineken– quite the variety in this vending machine). The staff is INCREDIBLYFRIENDLY. We only heard minimal noise through the walls and I think we were upgraded from the double we requested b/c there was also a twin bed. When I made the reservation I’d asked about a crib but they said they wouldn’t have room for theirs so we lugged ours along only to find there was more than enough room and a crib in the upgraded room. Which is great… except that we lugged the pack’n’play all over God’s green earth. We didn’t go for the breakfast for 11CHF b/c as we peered in, it didn’t seem worth it. We got breakfast from the Coop grocery store in the train station which worked better for us. So yes, the price and location were good(you can probably see Pilatus from several of the rooms). A little sparse-er than other hotels I’ve been to but as long as you’re expecting that– this is definitely the place to stay.

I quite liked this budget hotel. One of the cheapest in the city it’s definately no frills and as I am told similar to other small budget hotels across Europe. This is a great place to stay if you are spending most of the day time out and about at sites and using the room as a place to sleep and shower. It’s located on the other side of the train station(from e old city) and about a 10 min walk. It’s not hard to find if you know where you’re going but the quickest way we found(and easier to find coming from the hotel) was as follows: 1) From the Luzern train station make your way to the last Gate 14 and there will be an exit on your left. You go up the ramp towards the parking(or If you go to the very end there is an elevator up) 2) you end up on an overpass and stay right, you will see a nice grid lined view of Pilatus mountain 3) at the very end you will see an elevator and come down it 4) go straight on Burgenstrasse(straight ahead of you) 5) go all the way to the end and in front of a large grey building, between a bunch of yachts is a pedestrian walkway 6) follow the walkway all the way to a street and the hotel is right in front ! If someone finds and easier way they need to post it here It’s a hotel not a hostel so although there is barely any amenities(they provide soap and towels) they do come and change the sheets and towels everyday. What they need to do is add a third towel so guests can have a floor mat for the shower Each room has a toilet in a small room and a shower and sink within the room. You can’t be shy with your travel mates here! The third bunkbed can be used for additional storage and the beds are high enough to sneak a few suitcases underneath They have breakfast available for purchase if you choose for 11CHF includes coffee/tea, bread with different spreads, yogurt, cold cuts and cereals nd juices. There isn’t much else. This is a Europeon breakfast. I wish they had at least some hard boiled eggs, instead I had to fill up on bread and yogurt both of which I shouldn’t be eating due to sensitives I wonder if they would do anything for vegans or other restrictions. There’s not much else near by, you’ll need to go towards the train station. There is a bachman’s near that grey building hat would have sandwiches and chocolate. Also a Thai Restauarnt called Cha Cha nearby seems pretty happening. There is also Prizzi across the street. I personally didn’t eat in any of these. There is also a good grocery store in the trains station where you can buy tea and things for cheap. There is hot water and a microwave for use, but I wish there was more things available in the common area. The hot water was great but they give these small tiny plastic cups. We ended up stealing larger paper cups from the restaurants in the train station. Overall I would stay in any ibis budget based on this experience. The staff were friendly and nice and any complaints I have really isn’t a function of the hotel but e type of people that would stay here(large families booking many rooms) sometimes it gets loud at night as they chit chat out side my door. There is free wifi but for 24hours only. Just ask the front desk for the code.
