Radisson Blu Hotel Lucerne

Beautiful city. Great hotel.
The hotel is located right near the train station (Luzern Bahn) and directly across from Lake Lucerne. Exit the station and make a right towards a local university campus and the hotel is just a 10 min walk along the banks of the lake. Old town Luzern is directly across from the train station and less than a mile away from the hotel.
The hotel is quite modern, and breakfast buffet ($ 35) was one of the best I’ve had in Europe. I took my parents on a European vacation and this was the only hotel that happily extended my Club Carlson Concierge benefits to the second room and preassigned a room upgrade for both rooms (lake view) and also included breakfast. (Saved us over $ 200)
The room was spacious and clean, and waking up to a view of Lake Lucerne and Swiss Alps is priceless. Free Wifi (surprisingly fast) and if you don’t want to break bank and eat at the hotel (Switzerland is expensive!), there are a plenty of restaurants and convenience stores around the area.
Planning my next trip already… I’ll definitely stay here again.

Nice and modern hotel. My room had a view of the lake and train tracks… Very noisy in the morning due to train activities. Quite pricey.

Schöné Lage. Tolle Zimmer. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Schwächen in der Küchenleistung.
Ich war geschäftlich in Luzern, nahm aber die ganze Familie (Frau + Kind) mit, damit wir auch nebenher ein wenig Luzern erkunden können. Das Hotel sollte am See liegen und mindestens vier Sterne haben. Zudem musste ich aus der Liste der Hochschule Luzern auswählen. Radisson Blu ist für mich als Marke aus früheren Besuchen positiv besetzt, so dass ich mich auch in Luzern dafür entschied.
Wir sind mit dem Auto angereist und fanden in der großzügigen Tiefgarage (~30 Euro/​Tag) schnell einen Parkplatz. Mit dem Fahrstuhl kommt man direkt auf die Etagen. Der Empfang an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Das Zimmer war inkl. Babybett bereits für uns vorbereitet — trotzdem kam man den Wunsch nach einem Zimmer mit besserem Seeblick nach.
Die Zimmer sind sehr modern eingerichtet und geräumig. Gewöhnungsbedürftig sind bodentiefe Fenster — man fühlt sich ein wenig wie auf dem Präsentierteller. Natürlich kann man die Fenster aber verdunkeln und so die Privatsphäre erhöhen.
WLAN ist kostenlos verfügbar, genauso wie Tee und Kaffee auf dem Zimmer. Die Minibar ist gut gefüllt, aber nicht günstig.
Das Hotelfrühstück ist recht vielfältig — auf Lachs und andere edlere Zutaten muss man aber verzichten. Eierspeisen werden auf Wunsch auf ala minute zubereitet. Das Rührei in den Warmhaltebehältern war auch nicht besonders lecker. Ich musste mit dem Koch jedoch ein wenig über die Konsistenz von gutem Rührei diskutieren. Der Bacon kam dann leider verbrannt aus dem Ofen dazu. Insgesamt waren wir mit dem Frühstück aber recht zufrieden.
Die Hotelbar ist zentral in der Lobby und bietet viele Sitzgelegenheiten — im Notfall auch mit Stromanschluss für den Laptop oder das Smartphone. Es gibt vielfältige Cocktails und Longdrinks. Achtung: Mineralwasser ist sehr teuer (10 CHF/​Flasche). Es wird aber Tafelwasser in der Karaffe für 5 CHF/​Liter angeboten.
Das Hotelrestautant ist schön eingerichtet, der Service ist aufmerksam. Die Speisen sind nicht herausragend, aber okay. Preis/​Leistung ist für Luzern sehr gut. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war, dass Gerichte mit anderen Beilagen als auf der Speisekarte angegeben serviert wurden. Auf Nachfrage hieß es, dass es eben jeder Koch anders mache.
Das Publikum im Hotel ist sehr international. Mit uns waren viele asiatische und nordamerikanische Gäste vor Ort. Das Personal hat auch bei große Andrang (Reisebus) alles überraschend gut im Griff gehabt.

Great hotel with a breakfast buffet. The Swiss are well known for their customer service and this place did not disappoint. Rooms were spacious and even room service was not completely outrageous.
Sheets and room were very clean. The lift (elevator) was a little small so be wary if you have a lot of luggage. You will also need your key card to activate the elevator and the lights in the room. There is also a lot of space for the closet and luggage. Our room had a safe, minibar and plenty of outlets. Free wifi that is very fast too (we were about to stream netflix. Sorry for hogging bandwidth).
Train station and the lake are within very short walking distance. Most things in old town are within a 10 – 15 min walk. Great way to burn off all that fondue and rosti and Wiener schnitzel.
Will definitely stay here again

Ein schönes Hotel. Lage und Preis sowie Freundlichkeit des Personals sehr gut. Kann ich uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel as part of a Viking river boat cruise package. We had compared the Viking package price with the prices of other hotels and we found that the deal was about the same or better than others. As noted in other reviews, we normally opt for smaller hotels without room service, fancy lobbies and the like because we do not use those services or facilities and do not like paying for them. BUT, if the price is the same, why not!
We were NOT disappointed. This Radisson Blu was PERFECT in every respect except for the idiotic shower enclosure popular throughout Europe. Apparently, Europeans are not familiar with the concept of showering. Standard European shower enclosures have HALF glass shields. Water goes EVERYWHERE. The floor ends up flooded (and slippery). Not as problem as long as YOU, the resident, is aware and perhaps lays down a towel on the floor in addition to the floor «rug.» On the other hand, this arrangement MUST have negative consequences for hotels because of leakage and water damage.
The service in this hotel was wonderful. The hotel is located literally around the corner from the Lucerne railroad station (making side trips to Bern, Basel and other cities quite easy), a concert hall and the harbor/​old town area. It was an easy walk to either side of the river (the other side accessible by any of several bridges, two dating back to medieval times).
The front desk people were friendly and very helpful.
Breakfast was AWESOME.
Finally, while many hotels charge for wi-​fi connection, the service is included at the Radisson Blu Lucerne. AND, it was FAST wifi service with a strong signal. Due to limited English language television offerings, my wife and I were easily able to stream video on my Samsung Galaxy 2 tablet in the evenings.
If the price is right for you, I can highly recommend this hotel with no «reservations.» (sorry about the pun. couldn’t help myself!)

Stayed here over Christmas this year and I was very impressed.
Luzern is so beautiful and this hotel is in the perfect location, centrally located right near the train station and across beautiful Lake Lucerne.
The hotel has a great contemporary European feel, very sleek and modern. We were on the top (5^th) floor on the lower end of the units (room 507 and lower.) The one unfortunate thing about this end of the building is there is another apartment building of the same height directly across from it. The apartment building also looks upscale with large windows so it was actually fine to be able to peek inside their apartments at night. :) We were traveling with friends who were in 508 and the one thing I noticed is while their view was unobstructed, their room was also smaller. I guess that’s a tradeoff for having the better view?
The rooms have sort of a minimalist feel to them. A lot of subdued colors and long lines. As soon as I stepped into the room, the first thing that came to mind was «Sprockets». Anyone remember that skit from Saturday Night Live with Mike Meyers? «Now ve dance!» Lol.
The other thing that’s really cool is all the frosted heavy glass. The bathroom is spacious and has the entire back wall behind the tub in frosted glass so if someone is showering, you can see their silhouette through it. It looks especially cool at night when the room is dark. Keep in mind this could also be bad if your partner is asleep at 4am and you wake up and want to take a shower. The light could wake them up and then they wouldn’t be able to fall back asleep making their entire day tired and miserable and they blame it all on you so when you suggest hiking up Mount Rigi they passive-​aggressively roll their eyes and say «sure, I’m way up for that.» Not saying this actually happened of course. :/​
Anyway, the staff is super friendly and the hotel restaurant and bar (Luce) is also fantastic. A bit pricey but definitely worth the cost.

Letztes Jahr haben wir zwei Nächte im Radisson Luzern verbracht und waren mit dem Aufenthalt extrem zufrieden.
Das Hotel ist sehr modern eingerichtet, hat ein tolles Frühstücksbuffet und eine perfekte Lage im Zentrum von Luzern, wodurch man die Stadt super erkunden kann.
Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Diese Bewertung betrifft nur die Hotelbar und diese ist mit all ihrer Modernität recht ungemütlich. Design und Atmosphäre müssten nicht in diesem Gegensatz stehen, das geht auch anders

Das moderne Hotel überzeugt durch sein stilvolles Design und seine gute Lage in der Nähe vom Bahnhof und dem KKL. Einige Zimmer bieten zudem eine schöné Seesicht. Cooles Restaurant mit feinem Frühstück.
