Lino’s is a little coffee chain I came about during my weekend stay in Montreux. Situated directly across from the main train station, and within a fairly posh hotel lobby… it’s in a prime spot to house hotel guests, weary(or excited) travelers, locals, etc. I stopped in on this particular day for a cappuccino and people watching. If you ever feel lost in life, just observe a train station for a few minutes. Everyone is lost in life for a little bit, so then… don’t feel so bad :) I perched myself at an outside table(there is table service) and after waving the waiter down a few times finally received my cappuccino, complete with the dusting of cocoa powder that seems to coat almost every coffee-laden surface in Switzerland. Cost = 5CHF. About standard, especially catering to tourists in this location. However, I’ve had many coffees in Switzerland and most are accompanied by a better assortment of treats. This one was not… minus a star, where’s the chocolate Lino?! They also have a small menu of sandwiches/salads, so if you are waiting for a train, or just getting your bearings… just pop across the street and have a coffee or snack, it will be much more relaxing than the train station chaos!
