Captain Plant

Disclaimer — I tried their food from a temporary food stall, not at Zürich HB.
My experience with Captain Plant was rather negative, with the burgers being dry and the buns falling apart being rather flaky. The fries (sweet potato) were not fresh, and soft rather than crispy and rather bland.

I have to correct my review from last week after I’ve tried another burger today. This time I had the Tex Mex burger and got some extra spicy sauce in it. Simply delicious!

Bei Captain Plant bekommst Du reine Vegan Buger. Da es sich um einen Food Truck handelt, ist er immer an einem anderen Ort. Jeweils am Mittwoch jedoch, da findest Du den Truck in der Bahnhofhalle am Zürcher Hauptbahnhof.
Die Burger sind sehr lecker und natürlich ideal für alle Vegis und Veganer :-) Einzig den Preis finde ich für einen Burger doch sehr hoch, ab 9.50 ist man dabei und mit einer Portion Pommes kommt man leicht auf 13.00 Franken.
Als ich beim Truck war, waren leider bereits einige Angebote ausverkauft, was ja ein gutes Zeichen ist und zeigt, dass es wirklich sehr feine Burger sind.
Was ich sehr interessant fand, leider aber ausverkauft war, sind die Kürbis Pommes. Das hätte ich gerne probiert — naja beim nächsten mal. Ja genau, ich werde sicher wieder hin gehen, den wenn auch etwas teuer, so war mein Tex Mex Burger echt lecker, saftig und sehr frisch. Kein Vergleich zu einem Burger King :-))))

Captain Plant, a Basel based (and luckily since today, every Wednesday Zürich) Food Truck that is vegan. Tried them before in Basel and was amazed of the Burger (just don’t try the whole grain bread, to flavorful and hard for my taste of a burger bun)
The food was delicious; I have tried the mexian and the normal on. Would although recomment the Mexican — as it is much more flavorful and even a bit spicy (and well, I just love it spicy)
The ingredients are fresh and tasty (even an before closing) — The burger replacement is tasty as well, a bit on the dry side (but not as much as other vegan/​vegatables pattys I know — but you cannot compare it to a medium/​rare beef burger ;-). Haven’t tried the side dishes (pumpkin– or normal fries) or the cakes and Sandwiches they offer (vegan too).
The burger is very filling and satisfying. The prices are cheap for the amount of food you get: Around CHF 13 for a combo (Burger and Fries)
There is only on thing:
Be patient if you go. Everything is made up fresh as you wait and the process could benefit from some more experience and enhancements. The friendly crew took my order and I watched as they cooked it up and switched roles in the process randomly ;-). I don’t mind waiting when food is nice and fresh and served hot like it was here. But if you are in a rush (they are in a trainstation ;-) — be prepared to show up early enough!
Always check on their FB Page for the current location — the current plan is that they will be in Zürich Mainstation almost every Wednesday from 10:00−20:00
