Absolutely incredible. We went on a Saturday night with no reservation and scored two seats at the bar. Cocktails were amazing, one of the best manhattans I’ve ever had. Then came the food. The egg with the bacon and truffle and pastina was one of the best things I’ve ever had. The tostadas with carnitas and guacamole were out of this world also. Burrata on toast with pesto hit the spot! Also the steak tar tar with egg yolk and French fries! Wow. I can’t stop thinking about it. We also went for brunch the next day and they sent us out foie gras over sushi rice and it was hands down the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. Eggs Benny and burger were SOGOOD. Service was on point. Best experience I’ve had in Spain so far. MUSTGO. Try to make a reservation.

La Madame was a wonderful find that my family made thanks to a friend’s recommendation. They’d told me that it’s a great place to refresh your palate after eating your way through Basque cuisine and they were absolutely right. We started with the pork dumplings which were excellent, but the tostadas with carnitas really blew us away. Three of the five of us at dinner are Los Angeles natives and frequently complain about how difficult it is to find great Mexican food outside of LA. The bomba with calamari and Spanish rice was also great. Everything came together beautifully with an excellent cheesecake and a chocolate volcano. Kevin Patricio’s menu(and his wine list) is wonderful, and I would have loved to be there on a Monday night when he does a special menu. If you get the chance to go to La Madame, I would strongly recommend arriving early for a cocktail at the bar or one of the Basqueland Brewing Project beers(the microbrewery that Kevin also owns).

Amazing place! A friend of mine recommended this place– delicious cocktails(I had the la infante) & my husband the local beers(basque land attain amber ale and the IPA). We weren’t too hungry but had the corn polenta with pouched eggs– great flavor. Definitely reminded me of home– San Diego, california for the atmosphere, drinks, & interesting menu selection ;) good alternative when you want a pintxos break!

We really desired a sit down dinner and this place was just a block from our hotel. It was an excellent choice for us. Very creative food and classic cocktails. The fixed menu for the Monday we went was«San Sebastián Chinatown». Food was very good, though we both desired a bottle of sriracha for the arroz frites(ah, fried rice). Staff were very friendly, ambiance was modern and comfortable. Just a note, although the website says the open at 6:00pm, when we went, they were not opening until 8:00pm.

I’m happy to say that this was one of the top five meals of my life. We actually found this restaurant while staying at the hotel Londres down the street and I loved the menu and the website — that definitely drew us in. We had been traveling around Spain for about a week at this point and definitely wanted a sit down meal that wasn’t tapas. La Madame happily exceeded all of our expectations. The restaurant was empty at 8PM on a Sunday night. As a table of 4 we ordered, to start, sashimi scallops, my personal garden, dumplings, and the burrata. Everything was exceptional. My personal garden was definitely big enough for a main course and it was not only delicious but one of the most creative dishes I’ve ever seen. For the main meals we had the steak tartare, hanger steak and grilled hake. Again, everything was perfect. Service was wonderful and I would recommend this to everyone. Please go here and support this fantastic restaurant. Thank you to everyone there for a terrific experience!

I liked it so much, I came here for brunch and dessert in the same day! It’s like new-American cuisine with a Spanish twist. I also appreciate that they had one healthier dish(indicated with the bikini icon) as an option for each course. Unique and creative dishes in a hip-but-intimate environment with excellent service. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the food was on the heavier side(not uncommon for Spanish food) and requires a leisurely post-meal walk along La Concha.

Not the typical Spanish restaurant in San Sebastián. More of an American bistro, but with better food than you would normally find in the US. Very creative chef. Great cocktails. Good, but not speedy, service. We will be back.
