A Czeck pub/café located in Old Town. Pros: – Wide variety of Czech food and drink. – Comfortable and atmospheric dining area, both inside and outside. – Great service, even if the waiters were as friendly as I’d expect in the U.S., but friendlier than I expect in much of Europe. Still, very genuine in their attention and smiles. – Conveniently located, on a narrower intersection than most cafés. Despite the summer crowds, this place can feel a bit more like a charming café down a side street, yet in the heart of the Old Town. Cons: – A little pricey, mostly because of the location. I didn’t see any lower prices for comparable food anywhere around, but go outside the tourist areas and an equivalent meal will cost 15% to 30% less at a bar, café, or restaurant.(Drinks and a hearty sausage plate cost about Kč450.) Summary: Stop for lunch, dinner, beer, or coffee, and enjoy the world going by. Go at the right time(usually early evening), and catch strains of the classical concert in St. Michael Monastery’s Chapel.
