Starbucks

This is an absolutely fantastic Starbucks, I mean this could quite possibly be the nicest Starbucks in the world, based on the location alone. This place is literally inside of a castle perched atop the hills in Prague. There is rooftop seating with views of the entire city and inside there are window seats that are just absolutely amazing with uncanny views throughout the store. The service isn’t bad and the product is as expected for a Starbucks. Overall, absolutely a 5 star location/​ambiance and I would classify this particular Starbucks as world class.

This has to be the most amazing Starbucks I’ve seen up to this moment! The view is insanely great, as this place is located inside an old tower you look out onto the old buildings underneath & enjoy your coffee while catching your breath after the climb. There is also a terrace on top, which gives you a great view over the city — perfect!
What else is there to say? Not much. Enjoy!

Gleich zu Beginn wenn man oben an der Prager Burg angekommen ist, hat man nicht nur einen super Ausblick auf die Stadt, man hat auch gleich Gelegenheit sich einen Kaffee im Starbucks zu holen.
Auch hier gibt es alles was es auch in allen anderen Starbucks gibt und das ist nichts besonderes mehr, denn es gibt überall das selbe.
Hier geht es aber weniger um den Kaffee und Kuchen sondern vielmehr um den Laden an sich. Ich weiß nicht, was dieser Turm ursprünglich mal gewesen ist (vermutlich stand man hier Wache zu jener Zeit) aber, die Idee gerade hier einen Starbucks zu eröffnen ist klasse. Man betritt die Dachterrasse und eine Wendeltreppe führt nach unten in den Laden.
Wir saßen in einer kleinen Nische direkt neben der Tür und hatten, dank eines kleinen Fensters, auch noch einen super Ausblick auf die Stadt.
Ich war absolut begeistert und dieser Starbucks ist mit Abstand der coolste in dem ich jemals meinen Kaffee getrunken habe.
Wenn man allerdings zur Toilette möchte, muss man dann noch ein paar Stufen mehr nach unten laufen und die Treppe wird dann immer schmaler.

We are die hard Starbucks fans, we drink it every day either at home or at a café. Some of them back home (USA) have nice locations but if you are fortunate enough to make it to Starbucks Prague Castle you are in for a treat. The coffee is typical, good strong roast but it’s the view you come here for. After collecting your drink you sit on your choice of two different patios each with a MAGNIFICENT view of Prague.
You are above the rooftops of the houses and buildings and to gaze down at the sea of red roofs, bridges and river is simply outstanding. To be honest if the coffee tasted like dishwater the view would make up for it, having a good cup of Starbucks made it even better. Hung around an extra hour, relaxing, sipping and taking in that view.
If there is a Starbucks anywhere in the world with a better view, let me know and I’m there :).

By far the most beautiful Starbucks I’ve been to in the world. The coffee is still so-​so, but where it sits and the breathtaking views more than make up for it putting in a 5 star category

The usual competent Starbucks service and efficiency, combined with a gorgeous, gorgeous view of the city of Prague.
The location scout and interior design team should have gotten a bonus for this one. The embedded this in an old, old castle-​like structure, with a very weird geometry, and yet, made it work beautifully. If I had looked at the structure, I would have never thought to put a café in there. Starbucks ended up with a cozy 3-​level structure with an outdoor terrace with views of Prague from high up on this hill where Prague Castle sits. The interior is well-​designed and has some local influences.
Free WiFi and clean, well-​decorated bathrooms.

Die Globalisierung lässt grüßen. Direkt neben der Prager Burg befindet sich diese Starbucks Filiale. Ob man nun unbedingt in Tschechien eine amerikanische Kaffeehauskette aufsuchen muss darüber kann man freilich diskutieren. Ich persönlich bin, was das angeht, ein Globalisierungsgegner! Mittlerweile gibt es fast überall auf der Welt den gleichen Kram zu kaufen. Wo bleibt da die Individualität? Der regionale Bezug?
Und warum dann 5 Sterne? Weil diese Location einfach toll ist, zumindest in der Nebensaison. Ich möchte nicht wissen was hier los ist, wenn Hochbetrieb herrscht. Dann wird von dem gemütlichem Ambiente garantiert nicht viel übrig bleiben.
Man betritt das Café über eine Wendeltreppe von der «Dachterrasse» aus. Welche nicht nach oben, sondern nach unten führt. Folgt man der engen Wendeltreppe immer weiter in die Tiefe ist man irgendwann 2 Etagen tiefer. Wo sich die Toiletten befinden. Diese sind nur über einen Zahlencode zu öffnen. Bedingt durch die extrem kleinen Räumlichkeiten ist das Männer WC nix für korbulente Menschen.
Das Café selbst ist sehr verwinkelt. Bietet viele kleine Sitzecken. Der Verkaufstresen erschließt sich erst auf dem zweiten Blick, denn dieser ist in einem Nebenraum. Von hier kann man auch wieder auf einer kleinen Terrasse Platz nehmen.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und spricht Englisch. Das Getränkeangebot entspricht dem was es auch in Deutschland gibt. Allerdings fällt das Kuchenangebot etwas anders aus. Positiv anders.
Der gratis WLAN-​Zugang ist so was wie Standard bei Starbucks. Auch Steckdosen gibt es jede Menge. Ideal um im Sessel mit Blick auf die Stadt seinen eigen und den Akku seiner technischen Geräte aufzuladen.
Fazit: Kein XXL-​Starbucks, sondern ein kleiner, feiner, welcher zum Abend hin seinen Charme spielen lässt bzw. wenn die Menschenmassen sich lichten. Definitiv eine Empfehlung wert.
