Saito is the worst excuse for hibachi I’ve ever been to out of the many hibachi restaurants I have eaten at. I’ve been to both the Boca and Boynton locations and I’ve decided to write my review for the Boynton location because it was much worse. At most hibachi restaurants, the cook is very entertaining and welcoming. Not the case at Saito’s, the cook didn’t speak ATALL and just went over our orders real quick, cooked the food, and that was it. We were with a group of 15 people that was there for a little girl’s birthday, and no entertainment. Our waitress messed up like five of our drink orders, and was very rude as well. Besides the lack of passion from the staff, the food was not good quality at all(also had same problem at the Boca location). I don’t mind spending my money, but if the food doesn’t match the price I have a problem. The portions were small, food very bland, meat was rubbery, and rice was bland. This location is also extremely tiny, I felt like I was eating in a closet. Skip this and go to the much better Kimura Hibachi in Boynton.

I took the family there last night for the hibachi. The food was just OK. Portions were really small for the price. They charge extra 2.50 for fried rice which is basically some white rice with some soy sauce and some eggs. The soup was some type of unpalatable warm water. Parents: Don’t take your kids here. They don’t do any tricks at the hibachi and the kids menu orders are so small that my 5 year old was left hungry. We have been to other hibachi places in Boynton Beach which have much better taste and the portions are value for money.

Took the family here last night on a whim. Haven’t had hibachi in awhile and I am glad we went. The food here is always great. We started off with the steamed dumplings and chicken wings. Both were outstanding but the wings were top notch. So crispy and not greasy at all. Of course we all did the hibachi steak which was cooked perfect just how we like it medium.

I have been here a bunch of times. This review is based on the take out I got last week. I got 2 large miso soups seaweed salad and a seared tuna salad with ginger dressing. The miso soup was ok. Usually the flavor is a little stronger. I ordered before they actually opened, maybe that had something to do with it. The seaweed salad was very good. The tuna had a slightly fishy smell to it but it tasted fine and the ginger dressing was good. The price is a little high for what you get when it comes to take out, but more worth it when you get the hibachi experience. Which is why I gave it 3 stars, I consider that average based on the quality and taste of the food compared to the price. Everything was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. The bags were packed up nicely with the cutlery and chopsticks inside. The cashier was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. I would recommend dining in rather than getting takeout.

I went there a few times, it’s nothing great you are greeted upon entrance and asked if you want Hibachi or Sushi. The cook comes to the table and does some tricks with the utensils blah blah blah. The food is very salty I believe it’s because of the amount of soy sauce they put in the rice. But it’s ok. I was really pissed that they charged me and extra $ 2.50 per person for just having fried rice. Those menu prices you see aren’t truthful. So for my wife and I, we had to pay and extra $ 5 on top of our bill plus tip.(What bullshit)!. Each. Table sits 10 people, so imagine if everyone wants fried rice… that’s $ 25 extra they make on the same freaking bowl of rice. Also, if your table is unfortunate enough to have all the seats filled, you may need to stop and get a big Mac afterwards. This is because they have one serving of everything and it’s split with everyone at the table. The less people at your table the more food you get. The staff is pretty ok, they fill your glasses quite regularly. The miso soup to me taste like when I have to gargle salt water. Idk that might be just me. Their salads provide no source of vitamins, it’s all white lettuce covered in their dressing. Whatever brand of lettuce they are using its the most cheapest shit ever. Bottom line; it’s an ok place to go… once every two months. What they make I can make at home for half the cost and feed my entire family. Fried rice, mixed vegetables and steak or shrimp? C’mon. lol Its very expensive for what it is. And hope that you don’t end up sitting at a full table.

This is definitely the best location. They season the food really well and we really enjoy it especially the last time we were there. If my next experience is as good as my last I might even gives first five star review. The chef was very friendly and did a great job seasoning everything.

These Benihana knockoffs are a dime a dozen and while some of them can pull it off, this was not one that could. Bland and greasy.

This place has decent food although the hibachi presentation is uninspired and not a whole lot of fun.

Well I have to say the food is excellent. They prepare the food unfortunately way to fast. The typically hibachi show was horrible lasted less then 60 sec. Hell this is the only thing my kids like at these type of places. Over all food was GREAT! Only reason for 4 stars is the lack of entertainment that we were looking for.

What a great experience. I had never had hibachi before. I’m an extremely picky eater but I’m trying to broaden my horizons. My boyfriend and I went with his cousin and girlfriend who were regulars. We got our Miso Soup and salad with ginger dressing first. The Miso soup was delicious. I didn’t think I would like the ginger dressing but surprisingly I did. Then…the show began. The chef came over and asked everyone if they had been there before. If you want a better show, tell them you’re a first timer. He definitely messed with me more because I said I had never done hibachi before. He was hilarious, which I wasn’t really expecting. It was a little unfortunate that the other people at the table with us were Debbie Downers who couldn’t even crack a smile. Why go to hibachi if you don’t enjoy it? Anyway, The fried rice was better than any fried rice I’ve had before. The chicken and what they call the«yummy» sauce was absolute heaven. The service was excellent. As soon as any of our glasses were half full, someone was there right away to refill them. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that at a restaurant before. I think this place might turn me into a hibachi junkie.

Went one time for a special occasion like my anniversary. It’s just like Benihana or any other good hibachi place and the taste is just how it should be. I remember being a little disappointed in the rice — maybe they upcharged for fried rice or didn’t have it, but this place is definitely one of the better ones in the area to go to.

We get sushi and hibachi from this location at least a couple times a month. The sushi is the best in the boynton area, always very fresh and large portions. The hibachi is really good if you get it when you’re there but we’ve found that it’s not the same when you get it to go. Maybe it’s from sitting, I don’t know. I won’t take off a star for it though because it’s still some of the best in the area. The wait staff is super attentive and I’ve never had to ask for a refill. As soon as my drink gets near the bottom, they are there with a new drink. Overall I give this place 5 stars. I’ve never had anything but a top notch experience, and I’ve never been served anything I didn’t like!

Meh is the word that comes to mind after struggling through a meal at this mediocre«Japanese» restaurant. I put Japanese in quotes because the entire experience felt like a mockery of Japanese food and culture. After being barked at by a gruff Chinese man at the entrance(HIBACHI or NOHIBACHI???) we were told to go to TABLE32(non Hibachi). Perhaps it was the time of day but the restaurant was packed with families with squirming kids who almost landed on my mom’s lap if they weren’t glued to their iPhones. It was super noisy in there– and part of the din was coming from the«show» of Hibachi land behind us with a totally unnecessary clanging of knives by the«chefs» — obviously done for effect. Our waitress, like the dressing on the lame«salad»(iceberg alone does not make a salad, people) was overly sweet to the point where I wanted to brush my teeth every time she stopped by the table. It felt forced and fake, not sincere. The rest of the meal was truly forgettable– spring rolls with pork that looked worse than any cheap carry out in Harlem, bland miso soup that tasted like it came from miso powder, not paste, green tea that was probably picked in 1986 and entrees that had absolutely nothing special written all over them. We had Hibachi lobster, shrimp tempura and teriyaki salmon. The lobster itself was just ok and it came with mushy vegetables and a «shrimp appetizer» which was literally 2 pieces of grilled shrimp with no special seasoning or presentation as it was served on the same plate as the lobster. The salmon was completely bland except for the so obvious food service grade«teriyaki sauce» which most likely was made in a factory in Toledo and drizzled over the top of a relatively thin and small piece of previously frozen über pink salmon. Add sugar(HFCS?) and soy sauce and cornstarch and mix. Borderline Yuk! It’s hard to ruin tempura but this place found a way to drive the car in the direction of a car crash by serving it after the other 2 meals had been sent out and accompanying with yet another uninspired dipping sauce. It invoked images of a Food Service delivery truck pulling up to the back door of the restaurant and delivering this sauce by the gallon. Edible but meh. Speaking of sauces, we had to practically beg for silverware(spoons) to use with the sauces. I could hear the gruff owners voice in my head saying — «DONTGIVEOUTSILVERWARE — it costs 3 cents to wash!» We left feeling ripped off by the relatively high prices for bad diner quality food served in a schoolhouse cafeteria setting. It feels like the kind of place you might go for a workmates’ birthday party. Get drunk and watch the hibachi«show» at your table. If you eat out once a year, you probably wouldn’t notice the food service sauces, frozen seafood and watered down soups and tea. You might be dazzled enough by the show to think you’re actually in a Japanese restaurant. We weren’t.

I love the fact that its in walking distance. Everything is tasty. The service is quick and cannot be beat for Hibachi. Its the same but, different. Any fan of Japanese Steakhouse’s knows. I like the fact they offer. Alternatives to the boring Steak, Shrimp and Lobster options.

I’ve been to this location several times and it’s always good. It’s clean, the have very fresh sushi but on this night we were here for the Japanese steakhouse experience. Our party of four was seated promptly and drinks were back at the table in a couple of minutes. The food was delicious. Steak, shrimp, chicken from the grill were right on point. The tempura shrimp appetizer is five stars… soooo good. the miso soup was hot and flavorful. The weak link is the salad but I guess I didn’t come here for salad. Our hibachi chef was uninspiring. The typical spatula twisting, onion volcano, egg twirling show. He seemed to be going through the motions and what really makes this experience is when you have someone who can entertain you as well.(like G Unit at Kimura before his departure). That guy could do standup! We had fun, left full… I’ll be back.

I always have a good time when I go to Saitos. The food is decent(a little overly salted for me though) and reasonably priced. Staff is fairly friendly and it is clean. I dont do hibachi much, but I have been here a few times; however, I’ve never been super impressed overall.

Decided to stop in for a Friday night dinner. Wanted to keep it somewhat quiet and intimate so we skipped the hibachi side of the dinner(I must note that they looked like they were having a great time). I started off with an appetizer and went with the chicken wings. Definitely should have gone much more adventurous… The wings were okay… My soup of choice was miso: who doesn’t love scallions and tofu?! My dinner choice was the Chicken Stir Fry as I wanted an entrée with lots of veggies. My dinner date had the Shrimp Teriyaki. I loved the Shrimp Teriyaki a lot more than the stir fry but was not at all disappointed. Place was busy but not overcrowded on a Friday night which made for an enjoyable experience!

After living in Boynton and passing by this place a billion times over the course of three years, I showed up for some hibachi cooking. A girlfriend and I waited for about 15 minutes since they like to fill up their tables with customers before starting the grill. It must be a rule that the whole grill has to be used instead of half of it. Either way, we were stuffed with chicken, steak, and fried rice. It was good. Plus, we got a soup and salad before that. The price is reasonable and the staff is consistent with keeping the area clean. It is better than the Wellington one, which is dirty. I prefer Sawa if I had a choice between the two.

We came for a birthday dinner for my son. The menu is deep and varied, and even includes some nice hibachi fish and even ostrich! On that score we tried the O, as we’d had some at Disney’s African-themed restaurant that was out of this world. This ostrich was not as fresh and a cheaper cut. It’s a nice low cholesterol red meat otherwise. Keeping better stock would be worth the price. It was prepared as well as tough meat can be prepared, but if it was the first time I’d tried it, I would think that all of the meat must be that tough and never repeat the experience(it isn’t.) That cost it a star. The rest was really top flight stuff. The hibachi chef was fun, and the rest of the food was fresh and beautifully prepared.
