Solid for build your own pizza. Ordered the equivalent of a Margherita(red sauce/fresh mozzarella/fresh basil). Generous with toppings, quick service.

Attention ALL Blaze Pizza franchises: Y’all need to step up your pizza-making game and get on this particular location’s level. I don’t know how this Blaze Pizza manages to pump out so many delicious pizzas in such a short amount of time, but they made me believe in miracles. Even in the chaotic atmosphere of a mall food court during lunch rush, the staff at this location manages to stay cool and professional. I ordered the make-your-own pizza. The associate did a fantastic job listening to me pick my toppings(because what’s louder than a mall food court filled with whippersnappers young and old? It’s a rhetorical question, so don’t think too hard: P) and didn’t rush or shame me for wanting ~70% of their veggie toppings. I’ve been to another Blaze location, but that place has nothing on this food court Blaze. I don’t know how they cooked the pizza so fast(it was ~3 minutes) but there’s some next-level wizardry going on here. As per usual, my pizza was a hot, gooey divine creation from Pizza Heaven(mozz, gorgonzola, and goat cheese is my Holy Trinity). The crust was the right consistency to hold the integrity of the slice without having toppings slide off. The only con was the lack of napkins(I don’t know why establishments in this food court were napkin adverse). But luckily, my purse’s napkin stash(I may or may not have been on Hoarders once…) came in handy. tl;dr 10⁄10 would pizza again

What’s all this talk about Pieology? Pieology schmiology… It’s all about Blaze! I mean hello, the name alone should win you over, na’mean? Anyhow… I just had the best experience here. The pizza is delicious, but that’s not what prompted my review. I wouldn’t usually expect a lot out of a pizza place, or one in the mall, but for whatever reason this employee,(Jesse? I believe that was his name) just went above and beyond for me. I was in a rush and had my hands full with my starving kiddos and they are acting like monkeys and Jesse could see my frustration with them. He went out of his way to help smooth out my situation with my kids(distracting them with small kid talk) and help me not to feel like a crazy lady all in the matter of a minute. It really is in the details and I hope this review gets to you, Jesse. You made my day and for that you’ll definitely be seeing me(and my crazy kids) again!

Tastes like any other blaze pizza I’ve been to but I go here the most because it’s in the mall. Not as many customers here as there were before so I’m guessing it was a bit of a hype. Either way, decent service and fresh pizza. A bit overpriced when you consider that Costco pizza is the same price if not cheaper yet twice as big. I’m guessing people caught on and aren’t lining up for blaze pizza as much now. Still, a decent spot in the food court.

Plain and simple: Subway… but for pizza! We built our own toppings and sauce for our pizza and then they stuck it in the oven and within 10, maybe 15 minutes they called for us! We were very surprise at how great it all tasted! And its not very expensive, it was only $ 8 for our pizza and it did us well!

This is one of the best pizzerias I’ve visited outside of Pieology, and has a similar setup to that Subway-like assembly line of high-quality ingredients and streamlined ordering process that makes building your own pizza or ordering one of theirs right off the menu super easy and just as quick. The menu has a little bit for everyone, including a gluten-free dough option for those of you who suffer from those pesky allergies, are diabetic, or simply want a healthier base for your pizza. The ingredients are simple but varied, and include just about everything on could want on a pizza from pepperoni, marinara sauce, artichoke hearts, ricotta cheese, mozzarella, garlic oil, olives, bell peppers, sausage, tomatoes, and so much more. After your order is taken, it’s placed in the broiling hot oven and rotated periodically by the staff member on duty to ensure even cooking, then taken out, and set aside for a minute to cool. The whole process takes between 5 – 10 minutes, depending on how many people are in line before you. The crust is super thin, with just a hint of chewiness to it, and the fresh ingredients really make this pizza stand out as one of the best,(considering you’re getting it from a shopping mall food court), and it’s definitely healthier than most of the food court options surrounding it. If pizza isn’t your thing, they also have a small selection of salads and even a tiny S’Mores Pie to satisfy your sweet tooth for dessert. And if you’re literally counting calories, they have the calorie amount clearly displayed below each pizza up on the menu, and is probably less per pizza than anything you’ll get at The California Pizza kitchen, or any other local pizza chains.

We were here on Saturday night around 7p.m. The staff was great! However, I was disappointed in the quality of the pizza and selection of toppings. For the price, Pieology is much better.

Think Pieology but with a more sophisticated vibe to it. Plenty of cheeses, sauces, and super fresh veggies and meats to choose from. The prices are at par with Pieology and the people working there are super helpful and are open to give recommendations for those who are trying their pizza’s for the first time. Absolutely loved the service my boyfriend and I got when we stopped by. They made the experience very pleasant and they were very easy to talk to. But when it comes down to it, I’d choose this place over Pieology anytime. I wish they had more locations like Pieology does because I’d definitely eat there on a regular basis if there was a location closer to home. Most definitely will stop by here the next time I go shopping.

Let me first just say that I have tried many of those Chipotle-esque, Pieology-esque build-your-own pizza place, but Blaze is by far my most favorite. The classic red sauce is a perfect blend of spices and herbs, and the dough – oh the dough. It’s just the most superb combination of airiness, chewiness, and crispiness. It’s the perfect texture. My go-to is the BBQ chicken, though I have also done a lot of the build-your-own. I order all my pizzas extra crispy since I hate a limp pizza. I have eaten at many of the Blaze pizzas, but the one inside Brea Mall seems to be the quickest. While it is true that there are many build-your-own pizza joints popping up that may be quicker or have more ingredients, Blaze uses top-notch ingredients and the recipes for their sauces and dough trumps them all.

Just another Blaze shout out! This is my go-to for the kids & I *A special shout out to the gentleman that served me today: Jessie(from what I read on his hat, lots of tattoos) His words were: «How are you, hungry today — we will fix that!!» .“Enjoy: come back and see us again!!” Just super enthusiastic and fun! Also alerting customers that they had his attention and he would be right with them. ALL of these things are just so impressive!!! I just can’t stress enough how important customer service is on a personal level, especially to those having a lonely or bad day*** Hope this guy goes places*** Pizza was awesome as aways#

Great food and great service! Total time there and out: 15 minutes Service: was supportive and clear with their communication. I was hesitant because I normally add stuff I like that end up not complementing each other when put all together. I was hesitant and the guy making my pizza was super supportive by telling me I was making a great pizza! He didn’t suggest anything but made me feel confident in my choices. Again, great service :) Food: the«Art Lover» pizza with artichokes, ricotta cheese, chopped garlic, mozzarella, and red sauce dollops on top. No sauce on the bottom. This is all included in the pre-made«Art Lover» pizza. I then added grilled chicken, applewood bacon, mozzarella chunks, parmesan, roasted garlic chunks, spinach, and sliced cherry tomatoes. It was a GREAT combination! They fast-fired cooked the pizza in a brick oven and about 3 minutes later(after I paid) my pizza was ready to go!!! Awesome service, awesome food, excellent timing and great prices! All the pizzas are $ 7.95 with tax regardless if you customize it, pick a pre-made mix, or pick a pre-made combination and add stuff to it.

Mmm I’m so glad they added this place at the mall! My mom and I shared one build-your-own pizza today. We each ate 3 slices, which was surprisingly very filling! I love how you can add as many toppings as you want without additional cost. We got a pizza with the classic red sauce, mozzarella, gorgonzola, pepperoni, bacon, chicken, italian sausage, turkey meatball, artichokes, spinach, basil, red pepper, mushrooms, and zucchini. All of this was like $ 8 including tax. Great value and taste!

Pizza — whats not to love a huge selection of toppings — it just keeps getting better open flame oven — winner! Done in under 2.5 minutes — ding ding ding… repeat customer for life! Okay, if you like pizzas, and you are passing through Brea Mall, stop here! Don’t go on shopping, drop what ever you are doing… and get over here… Shopping and browsing can wait… satisfy your pizza craving now… and even if you don’t have a pizza craving, then just stopping and watching a few people making their will give you one! Thin crust guys, so if you are expecing Chicago style then you are going to have to look elsewhere… My slice: Spicy Maranara Mozzarella Ovalini Mozzarella(similar to fresh mozzarella balls) Italian meat balls Basil bell peppers roasted garlic red onions black olives This was only about a quarter of the topping options, you can go nuts here if you want, but in my experience, sometimes moderation makes the better pie, too many toppings and you have a flat bread open faced hot sandwich… not a pizza… My pizza-rista(barista for pizza) Jake, made an excellent pie! Not too heavy handed on the toppings, but not light either. Just the right amount of coverage so that every slice had the toppings I chose on it. at $ 10 for a pie and drink, the price is a little heavy for lunch or dinner every day, but definitely worth a visit once in a while! And with so many different toppings to choose from, you have to come back to try a new combo each time!

Great personalized pizzas built to order! Generous unlimited toppings. My custom favorite would be the red sauce mixed with white sauce, mozzarella, spinach, mushrooms, basil, sautéed onions, kalamata olives, pineapple, a sprinkle of oregano and topped with arugula after it is baked. We ordered 5 custom pizzas to take home as we usually do, but for some reason we all noticed that the pizza today wasn’t as good as it normally is. I’m not sure what has changed. I still recommend the place because it was still good and it is way better than Pieology.

Vegan Pizza *S’more’s cookie not that great* Never ate here besides the S’mores cookie. Why have it? It’s $ 2. I took one bite and blah. But I rated the place 4 stars because they offer vegan options, gluten-free, seems like a cool place to go. But how does this compare to Pieology? I’d have to do an update and see. Seems like the same deal, pick your items, throw them on your pizza, and you get fresh pizza in 5 minutes. Not a bad deal. I’ll have to try a vegan pizza to see how it taste. Finally got that S’mores out of my system. No more. Kenzie was no happy. Okay I just tried the pizza. It’s okay I guess but I realized eating a cheeseless pizza, everything will fall off lol. So that’s what cheese is for, to glue everything together. Well I didn’t want any glue lol. I think Pieology has way more ingredients and the crust wasn’t as flimsy. I don’t mind thin crust but the sauce totally drenched it. I may go back to Pieology to compare again. I’m still a fan though because $ 9 got me a pizza with generous toppings. I could easily split it with someone. Time to walk over to Coldstone. :)

Unilocal 2015 Challenge #26 Before Pieology sprung up everywhere, there was Blaze Pizza. And that is where I was introduced to the BYO pizza. Build Your Own! Although the Brea Mall location is fairly new, the concept is not. You get to put whatever you want(with the ingredients they have ofc) on your pizza– it’s all you! Pizzas here are $ 7.95 First, pick a crust. Regular or gluten free. Granted, they give you regular unless you ask so… second, pick a sauce: classic red sauce, spicy red sauce, white cream sauce. Third, your cheeses: goat * gorgonzola * mozzarella * ovalini mozzarella * parmesan * ricotta Next, vegetables! artichokes * arugula * bell peppers * cherry tomatoes * chopped garlic * fresh basil * jalapeños * mushrooms * olives * pepperonicini * pineapple * red onions * red peppers * sautéed onion * spinach * zucchini Then, your meats! applewood bacon * crumbled meatballs * grilled chicken * italian sausage * pepperoni * salami * smoked ham Finally, you can add pesto or BBQ drizzle at the end. :P They also have salads: OMATO, BASIL&OVALINI side salad — ovalini mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil, arugula, balsamic glaze BEET&GOATCHEESE side salad — beets, goat cheese, almonds, arugula, house vinaigrette ROASTEDVEGGIE&GORGONZOLA side salad — roasted zucchini, roasted red peppers, gorgonzola, romaine, house vinaigrette CLASSICCAESAR side salad — shaved parmesan, seasoned croutons, romaine, caesar dressing ANTIPASTO entrée salad — grilled chicken, applewood bacon, artichokes, roasted red pepper, red onion, shredded mozzarella, romaine, italian vinaigrette CHICKENCAESAR entrée salad — grilled chicken, shaved parmesan, seasoned croutons, romaine, classic caesar dressing They also have a s’more dessert pie. :D Their crust at the end of the day is thicker by a bit than Pieology’s and they have bigger«slices». It’s supposedly less«healthier» but to me, pizza is pizza. They have more variety and they taste great HEHE. They actually taste different, a good different actually :) You totally need to try and see which one you prefer. The one at the Brea Mall does take a long time, but so does Chipotle and Genghis Khan, so you kinda need to wait regardless of where you go. Line, yes. I’m sorry, it exists. Go ahead and try it out! PSROASTEDGARLIC. SEASALT. DOIT. :D

**3.5STARS** Build your own pizza! Very similar to Pieology but Blaze offers a wider variety of sauces and toppings. They had white cream sauce, spicy sauce, classic red sauce and different drizzles such as pesto, bbq & olive oil to put on after the pizza is done baking. Some of the different toppings we got that they offer and Pieology doesnt were the zuchinnis, roasted garlic, oregano & sea salt. The only reason I rated my experience a 3.5 is because the guy building our pizza was being a bit stingy with the sauce and our toppings. He barely put any pizza sauce on ours and even when we asked for extra pineapples, we still only got a little. I was kind of actually really sad but I didn’t want to say anything… Whenever we go to Pieology, the workers there are not afraid to pile on our toppings! Anyways, we got our pizza and I expected my first bite to be delicious because it looked so good but womp womp. Slight disappointment. Our pizza was a bit bland & I could barely taste the spicy pizza sauce or the bbq drizzle we had them add after baking. Also, it was not as filling. even though it looked like it was the same size as Pieologys. Oh and once the pizza was cooked, our pineapples turned white… which was a bit odd. The good part was that the crust was a bit thicker than Pieologys and I really liked how we were able to add roasted garlic to our pizza! It could be that we didn’t have the greatest pizza builder but I am willing to give this place another chance. I will update my review when I go back in for another pizza. So to be continued…

I love Blaze and they seem to be expanding all over the place, good for them! It’s such a quick and easy lunch or dinner, I love the unlimited toppings for one price. Service was nice, the line moved along well, I had the usual salad and a loaded veggie pizza with a pesto base and loved it! I am obsessed with their balsamic glaze, get it! I always have enough pizza left over for another meal later, but always enjoy having a slice or two right away with my salad. Great location, clean and well kept, I’m a huge fan, keep up the good work!

This is the third Subway like wood fire pizza joint I’ve tried in a the past couple months. Blaze was pretty good for about the same price as all the others. Since this one is in a mall food court, it didn’t have the same feel as others which were stand alone. The pizza was good enough, and will probably put Sbarro out of business(sorry Sbarro!). 1 pizza per person is the norm, but 2 could easily split one. My only issue was the amount of sausage they put on my pizza. I only ordered one topping and I think a couple slices had only 3 pieces of sausage on it. I probably could have asked for more, but I wanted to see what their norm was. It looked like there wasn’t going to be enough cheese either, but when it melted, it was perfect. This is not the quickest place for lunch since every pizza is made and cooked to order. There is no «pizza by the slice» ready to go so when you order, plan to wait 5 minutes or so for your order to be cooked. Still, worth the wait. Blaze Pizza is also opening at Main Place Mall soon and looks like a larger location. Meanwhile, it’s a great addition to Brea Mall.
