Love Island Time –the food has beautiful presentation and great taste! The service is the best, Romeo and his team are very friendly and always full of smiles. As we entered the restaurant last night we past their cool new outdoor grill. The food on the grill smelled so good, it made my mouth water. They were grilling oysters, the word from other patrons was«it was fabulous». Maybe another night, we shared the Black Dragon and Rattle Snake Rolls. They where both great but the flavors in the Rattle Snake roll were spicy, crunchy, and oh so good. It definitely had some bite to it! To cool it down we shared a crème brûlée for dessert. I am not fibbing, I almost made my husband order a second one because he hogged it all! He let me have the strawberry while he ate more and scraped the bowl. It was vanilla flavor, creamy and cool, the sugar crust was just right! Their cheese cakes are always delicious too! We have been several other times, and enjoy trying their specials the food is alway wonderful and fresh!

Excellent :) taco Tuesday was delicious. Get the pork belly rolls! They are delightful! Service is great and prompt. Manager came by and touched our table. Parking is ample and I thought the wooden booths were cute. Happy hour tonight: $ 2 domestic bottles. They have a small selection of craft beer on draft. Also, $ 2 nigiri! Yay! Tonight’s dessert was caramel cheesecake with an Oreo crust and vanilla bean crème brûlée. I got the latter :) All in all, great place. Come by and check them out! They have tuna poke!!!

Time after time: Best on the island. Drinks & food are always above average. While Sushi is the theme, many other dishes are offered and each time they taste great. I have been visiting this restaurant regularly since it opened and have never left disappointed.

Overall, experience was good. Rice used for sushi rolls seemed a bit overcooked. Rainbow roll was a bit bland, while crunchy roll was tasty.

This is our second time here and they do not disappoint! Romeo the owner makes sure you enjoy the experience. Holly was our waitress and she was on point. Food was excellent! You can not go wrong if you love sushi rolls which we do. We are now regulars!

Have been there twice. The first time, excellent service and the food came out relatively quickly. Second time, my fiancé and I ordered some sushi rolls and it took well OVER an hour to get them out to us. I’m not sure what the deal is, but it took fooooooorever… The staff was definitely on island time… No question about that. Granted for our trouble, the owner comped a glass of wine… But honestly, I could care less for the wine. This place is expensive with mediocre service; save your hundred bucks and spend your money somewhere else… I wish I did.

I love their food, but it really sucks that their hours are till 10:00 pm and I got there at 9:20& they were closing. Not a good way to start a business and develop a customer base. If they keep this up you’ll probably fail like every other business on the island pretty sad and disappointing I wish I was back in Austin Texas high quality food excellent customer service consistent quality

Every trip to this place I try something new and am never disappointed. The food always dazzles my palate and the wine makes for a truly unique experience. Favorite rolls are the Shaggy dog and Kani Kama ! Every special I’ve had is great. The owner is always there usually with his wife and they personally welcome you in it’s like being at Cheers even if they don’t know your name. The grilled oysters are to die for !! Any of the specials are always so fresh and delicious. Last visit I went for trying all their veggies and the crispy brussel spouts were delicious. On the menu my favorite non sushi so far is the lobster stuffed chicken breast it has so many great flavors working in it’s favor. Highly recommend this local joint !!

Island Time is a welcome change here on the Island. My husband and I have been good friends of Romeo ever since we moved here. We always feel like a welcomed guest every time we go. We are enjoying experiencing a variety of different dishes, and always sit at the bar so we can enjoy watching the talented chiefs prepare the great dishes. The seaweed salad has become our favorite appetizer, and we enjoy the wonderfully prepared sushi. When you experience Island Time you need to enjoy all they have to offer, great food, great wine, great company, a great host, and a memorable night out! I highly recommend you try it!

My husband and I went here upon recommendation of one of the locals. My husband does not like sushi, but we decided to try it anyway. We were pleasantly surprised, as they offered multiple grilled options in addition to sushi. My husband had the Mojo Shrimp with jasmine rice, and it was amazing ! We also tried the lobster cake, which was almost all lobster meat with very little filler. So delicious! I had the rattlesnake roll and the island poke. It was so fresh and the sauce they used complimented the fish perfectly. We sat at the bar, in front of the sushi rollers, and they were very friendly and helpful. The service was impeccable. In fact, the owner came around to check on us! We will definitely return next time we are in town !

Island time is a new restaurant that just opened up on Padre Island. It is listed as a sushi bar but it’s menu is made up of a eclectic mix of cooked & raw seafoods. There are American style grilled seafood items, a select few American style sushi rolls & select fish choices that are available. There is no Uni or traditional Japanese style anything. There is beer & wine available but no liquor license. They were quick to tell us that we could bring our own bottle but there would be a «set up» charge for that. They do however have Japanese sake & beer, Sapporo & Kirin. Hubby & I just happen to drive by & saw the oysters online so we stopped & asked the owner inside if he had oysters. He told me he did have some fresh oysters & to come back for dinner, that they open at 5pm. We went back to the beach house took showers & came back for dinner, we were one of the first people to be seated. We ordered a doz broiled oysters. They took forever. No problemo. We were drinking sake & beer & we just wanted oysters. They came in a garlic butter sauce & tasted great. However, the person that shucked the oysters did a terrible job & cut the oysters badly & I got several pieces of shell in some & one sharp piece even cut my lip a little. We decided to order another round hoping that was a fluke, but, after a even longer wait, the second dozen came & they were also shucked badly with pieces of shell in them. They tasted great but were cut so poorly with pieces of shell in half of them. We decided to order something else, however we were told there was going to be even a longer wait now bc the restaurant started to fill up. We ordered a yellowtail appetizer it took over a hour to get 4 pieces of raw fish on a plate. $ 17 We had also ordered a Ecstasy roll which was soft shell crab. But we wanted to add jalapeño & Serrano to it. We were told that any change or substitutions were another up-charge to any sushi rolls. Yep. This isn’t your average sushi place. You can’t customize your orders here or you pay pay pay. You have to eat them the way they have them exactly on the menu which is very Americano style. The owner of this sushi place is spanish. A couple of the sushi chefs or «rollers» as HE called them are also spanish. There were a couple white American dude«rollers» behind the sushi bar as well, So, in fact this Island Time sushi place is a spanish/Americano«roller» sushi/Nuevo seafood joint. As my husband pointed out, all night long there was not one Asian face in the whole place. Anyhoo, the Ecstasy roll, by adding the jalapeño & Serrano was a million dollars now & came b4 the $ 17 yellowtail appetizer that was only 4 small pieces of fish. We were told that the whole yellowtail fish had to be broken down for us that’s why it took so long & that it was super fresh. I told them that was great! However, that should have been prepped long b4 they opened at 5pm. The Ecstasy roll was very good with the extra peppers on it so we ordered another as we were super starving now & had been there 2 hours already with hardly no food getting to our table. Hubby ordered some dumplings. We were THEN told at THATTIME about the«specials» that those items will come out faster if we want those! So, we got a couple of the special pork belly tacos & they were really good. Wish we would have just ordered those & left. Anyhoo, the dumplings came & they were horrible. The balsamic reduction on them was so bad & so salty they were not edible. We sent them back. We finally got the last Ecstasy roll & it DIDNOT have the extra jalapeño & Serrano peppers on it. When we got the bill we were charged for it. We ask they take the up-charge off our $ 200 bill & they did. This has to be the WORST service experience hubby & I have ever had in our lives. To sum it up, If I’m going to pay $ 100 per person for sushi, I prefer real Japanese sushi not eclectic beachy Americano overpriced neuvo sushi. I will stick to Aka Japanese in Corpus where you can customize your rolls all day long & there is no «up-charge» & you don’t have to wait over an hour for them to go «fishing» for your sashimi. All FOUR pieces of it. I prefer a real«sushi chef» to prepare my sushi/sashimi not some«roller» dude on «Island Time» Island Time. Good luck to you roller dudes.
