This is probably the only and the best Chinese restaurant in this area. If you can read Chinese, please ask for the Chinese menu, they have some additional items that don’t exist in the English menu. The cooking style is kind of southern Chinese style, more sweet, less spicy. Even the dishes with spicy mark, they are not really spicy, probably tailored to the taste of Americans. They suggest them to add a changing pad in the bathroom as it is spacious enough to do so. The portion size is huge!

Ming Place is pretty good food. It is always fresh and they are usually pretty quick. Lemmon Chicken(Lemmon named after the street the restaurant is on) is my favorite. My person taste does not really care for their egg rolls, but that i not a dealbreaker when the rest of the food is good!

I live this restaurant! I might be a little biased because I think the owners are so sweet, but truly the food is delicious. Dumplings are a must have!

I’ve been in Dallas almost three years now and despite lots of attempts had failed to find good Chinese restaurant. You know, just the basic, decently priced, Americanized strip mall place. Found my saviour at Ming’s Place. General Tso’s was awesome(try it extra spicy). The staff was super friendly. And, not sure if this is racist, but sometimes I judge how good a place is going to be by how many of that nationality is dining there… and this place passed that test as well.

Very disappointed, I made a delivery order through Unilocal.I was informed over an hour later that my order was canceled. Absolutely unacceptable, there are plenty of other choices!

My favorite place in Dallas area so far. I have tried around ten items off menu and have enjoyed them all very much. Super friendly staff and very quick service even on super busy nights. He portions are nice size as well for dinner services. I am very glad I found this restaurant and tell everyone I know about it.

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had so far in Dallas. DFW seems to favor Thai food, and I’ve had a hard time finding a good Chinese place. This spot is right around the corner. Service was polite and proficient. The server brought out a complementary plate of edamame, which was nice. Soft drinks are in bottles, not fountain, and are expensive, close to $ 2 each, and no free refills, obviously. Portions are large enough to take some home for a good next-day meal over leftovers. I expect we’ll be back.

I was under the weather and I was craving some beef noodle soup-Taiwanese style and this place popped up on my radar. My friend and I ordered the steamed dumplings, beef noodle soup and dandan noodles to share and their portions are huge! I highly recommend the beef noodle soup– it tastes very authentic and its Taiwanese styled so it’s unique from all the other Chinese food places. They also give you complimentary edamame to start with and the service is actually nice for Asian people. My only complaint is that all the food was a little on the bland side. The soup could have had a little more flavor or spice to it, and the dandan noodles were lacking flavor all together. But it’s hard to find an place that stays true to the Chinese flavor, overall I liked the place, but my friend didn’t, I would come back again though!

Had our company lunch ordered to go from here and was a little disappointed. For the price of the meal, the food was not worth it. First, the portion is quite small. You get about half of a to go container. It looked more like an appetizer than an entrée. It was not just my order, but everyone else’s. I ordered the Shanghai pork chops from their ‘signature plates’. The pork was sliced into small morsels and sautéed in a sweet sauce over cabbage. It was nothing special, typical brown sauce.

This place is hit or miss. Somedays they claim to be out of Egg rolls, and other days they claim to be out of Shanghai cucumbers. If they serve you a plate of ghetto Edamame, you should know by now they are having a bad day. Hot & Sour soup and Egg drop soup tasted average. Kung Pao beef was good, but they added a ridiculous amount of bell peppers which masked the level of spicyness. Mongolian beef can be delicious one day or be incredibly salty the next week. 10 Things I learned about Ming’s Bistro: 1) They do not serve alcohol. 2) They pack your food in ghetto containers unless you specifically ask for plastic sealed containers. 3) Do not eat here on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays 4) You have to ask for hot mustard. They do not automatically bring it out to you. 5) They do not serve Jasmine tea. 6) Their take out orders are so busy, that you’ll usually stand in line for your take out order. 7) Chopsticks are only available upon request. 8) They hire the best looking staff. The eye candy here is unbelievable! 9) The fortune cookies give the worst advice ever!!! Confucius must be rolling in his grave. 10) The doors are ridiculously heavy to open, but it helps to bench a few lbs before deciding to eat dinner.

I’ve been searching for a good, authentic Chinese restaurant in Dallas proper for a long time, and this place can satisfy some cravings. It seems like the owners and chefs are Chinese, but their menu is still mostly Chinese/American fusion. You can also ask them for a menu in Chinese, but none of the dishes are different from what is offered on the English menu. I’ve never actually dined at the restaurant, but have ordered takeout a few times. I like how they package everything so neatly for takeout – they even include complimentary egg rolls, sauces, and fortune cookies! My favorite dish so far is the mapo tofu, which is pretty authentic! I was really pleasantly surprised. I’ve also tried their kung pao chicken, which was a huge disappointment. It looked good in a photo posted by a fellow Unilocaler, but what I got was very different. The kung pao chicken is far from authentic. They added bell peppers, carrots, and water chestnut(a pet peeve of mine) to the dish, so there ended up being only a tiny bit of chicken. Plus, all the extra ingredients muddled up the flavors. I’ll most likely order the mapo tofu again, and I’m open to trying more dishes!

Probably passable for Dallas, sadly. I’m from SF and this place wouldn’t cut it there. This is not really authentic Chinese food, it is Chinese food that is catered to Americans, you can immediately tell when you take a look at their menu. Also, they serve Pad Thai in what is a «China Bistro»…yeah… Ordered Broccoli Beef and Cashew Nut Chicken. Broccoli Beef was cooked in some sauce that was overly salty, which really overpowered the whole thing. They were generous with the broccoli though, almost twice as much of that as there was beef, which I wanted. Cashew Nut Chicken had few cashews in there, and the ones in there were soggy, not crunchy as they should be. The chicken was bland and mostly flavorless. Would not have stepped in here if we weren’t pressed for time to see a movie, only to find out the movie theater was also a restaurant… would surely have just eaten there had I known this. Will never be back.

I visited Ming Place for lunch after reading other reviews on Unilocal.I ordered the chicken fried rice, to which I added broccoli and snow peas. The dish was fine, but a little bland. The spring roll they brought out for an appetizer was tasty, though… flaky, and not greasy at all. The main reason I’m giving this place three stars is because it’s a little pricey for what it is, especially for lunch. It’s decent, basic Chinese, but there are probably cheaper lunch options in the area.

Good lunch-sized portions for the prices. — Salt & pepper wings: good, especially the sauteed onions and jalapeño peppers — Orange chicken: good, but I wish it had more orange flavor(using zest rather than the entire chunks of peel) and was less thick, more saucy to add flavor to the rice. Currently, it’s a very thick sauce from the corn starch + corn syrup(only a newb’s guess). — General Tsao chicken: similar to the OC above but includes more veggies. I liked this one a bit more than the orange chicken, although you can only tell a difference in a side-by-side taste test. — Brown rice: I know it’s weird to review rice, but it’s very important! The brown rice is actually really good here! Asians don’t typically eat brown rice, so its always a pleasant surprise when it is made w/the right amount of water. The owners and server seemed very nice. They close on Sundays, beware! But I think it’s cool that they save a day for family time.

I have been to this place 2 times now and was impressed both times. I have tried the kung pao noodle with chicken and tofu, the spicy tofu, veggie fried rice, orange chicken, and chicken fried rice. We also ask the server to fry the edamame in oil and red peppers to make it spicier, and it’s delicious! I remembered to write a review today because our server, Barbara, was incredibly nice. The food we ordered initially came out with eggs(my mother is a veggie) so we had to send it back. Honestly, it was our fault because we forgot to specify, but Barbara was SO nice about it, and the food came out just as promptly the second time. The service is great and the food is good too! I have only been for lunch but I’ve always been pleased :)

I would say this place is adequate. It’s not what you would call Plano-Authentic Chinese food. But for being in this part of town, it’s authentic enough. I would probably give the food 3 stars, but i totally understand their need to cater to a different customer base in order to survive in the cut-throat restaurant business.(extra cut-throat for being chinese). If you are not acquainted with REAL chinese food, just order anything on the menu. It will satisfy your«chinese» cravings. If you are a purest that grew up on the real deal, they have a separate menu for that. Just ask for it.(although i don’t imagine they get too much business from that since they literally have ONE copy of that menu).

I have never had a bad experience on service from this restaurant and I have never had a bad serving of food either. Wonton soup — served hot with little shreds of cabbage — just to give it enough texture and cannot have chunks of bites. Potstickers — weren’t as crispy as I would like but they are still good and cooked perfectly and of course the dipping sauce just sweetens more. Crab wontons — decent, but they seem to be not so generous with the cream cheese filling. Edamame — plain and had absolutely no salt. Eggrolls — perfectly crisped and not too greasy. Hunan Chicken — this dish is so flavorful and they provide more than enough liquid seasoning so you can continue to drench your vegetables in while eating the rest of your dish. I especially like how they compact all your food perfectly well so that items don’t shift in the bag when you’re taking orders to go!

I haven’t had Chinese food in Dallas in my 2 years since moving here from NY, but when the craving finally came and I tried Ming Place, it was totally worth it! Ordered food online through an app, and they called within minutes to confirm the order and to let me know it’s ready for pickup in 10 minutes. Got there and got the food pretty smoothly, it wasn’t packed but 2 or 3 tables occupied, and everyone inside seemed nice and friendly while getting my food for me. Got the food, it’s a pretty huge portion: we got the cashew chicken dinner and the general Tso’s chicken, both with steamed white rice! Both dishes were delicious, the general Tso was not spicy but had a fantastic aftertaste! Overall it was great chinese food, perfect pricing… we’ll definitely order again, whenever the urge for chinese food hits us again!

If you’re looking for some Chinese food that has a higher quality then the typical American-Chinese delivery you get, this is your place. The inside isn’t too big, just in a little strip next to a starbucks, potbelly and a burger joint. The price here is higher than the usual fare for Chinese food. I ordered my go-to Chinese dish when I order delivery, which is the general Tso’s chicken. My partner had the sweet and sour chicken with the sauce on the side. It was a chilly day so we decided to get a bowl of egg drop soup to start. The soup came out quickly, and it was good. The little wonton chips they serve em with are a perfect crunch to your soup. When the entrees came out, I was kinda shocked at the portion size. There was not many pieces of meat at all :(upsetting. My partners dish had even less meat so that was a downside for me. Besides the portion size, the chicken was good and seasoned great. It def was higher quality and better tasting chicken then other Chinese I had, but I can’t justify the price to portion ratio. Next time I’m craving some Chinese, I’ll stick to the delivery where they give you such a gigantic portion.
