I do not recommend this place. The service was good. The young man was new but was very nice. The food was not good. The carne asada was over over cooked and everything was very bland. My dish had a weird smell. It was also pricey for what you get.
If the taco truck is open go there.

Wow! This food was absolutely superb!
I had 2 crispy tacos, a chicken & a crispy pork. The chicken was really moist & carnitas very flavorful. I finished off my meal with awesome cheescake. My wife had the Chingolingas with shredded chicken in a flaky pastry dough, really good. Along with salsa & chips, you get beans topped with cheese… yum.
We would definetly come back when in the area.

This is by far my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Humboldt County (where Mexican food goes to suck). They GIVE YOU FREE BEANS with your chips and THEY ARE DELICIOUS! Every dish I have tried has been either VERY GOOD or EVEN BETTER.
Now, if I could just find a decent Indian meal…

So we hit this place on a Thursday and they had $ 1 beer specials. Also the food specials all featured molé which is exactly what I was hoping to order. It wasn’t on their regular menu! Agh! What? And it was amazing. It was also Cinco de Mayo and my parents anniversary. Definitely coming back!

I am from a bit farther south and its amazing that a few hour drive north can ruin Mexican food! I heard about this place from my boss at kebab café (also good food) and tried it out. This place gave me hope for Mexican food in Humboldt county! The rice and beans were fresh and not microwaved! The carne asada held a nice taste and texture, chard but not burned. Super fresh veggies. The salsas were good. Not the best ive had. The chips were homemade and served warm. But the best thing about my meal was the Chile relleno! Completely authentic. Fluffy egg, well cooked chile able to cut with a fork, and it was the largest relleno ive ever had! This place gets 5 stars because the décor was also very nice and so was the service. Attentive and polite. Thank you for giving me a taste of home! Keep up the good work!

Really enjoyed the food here. The flavors were like being at the house of a friend whose family came from Mexico and know how to cook. Portions were good except for the guacamole (could be my expectations on that were higher because we live in southern CA where perhaps avocados are more plentiful). The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. Would definitely return.

Best Mexican food in humboldt county! I got the California burrito. The salsa verde is very good. Service was incredibly quick as well. I’m excited to come back and try more of the menu items. Looking forward to trying the street tacos.

The more times I eat at this place, the more I’m convinced that it’s the best restaurant in Humboldt. I don’t know if anyone’s doing what they do as well as La Patria does Mexican. Maybe Humboldt Sweets and their ridiculous baked goods and cheesecakes. Everything I’ve tried has been stellar and the menu offers quite a variety. The carne asada is spot on, the homemade tortillas are amazing, the carnitas are crunchy and juicy with a ton of flavor. The California burrito with french fries in it is to kill for. Pretty sure they’re cooking the fries in beef fat which you don’t see at very many places any more. And the fried chicken sandwich is unreal. I’ve never seen a fried chicken sandwich at a Mexican place, but I’m glad Patria does because just like everything else on the menu I’ve tried, the flavors are powerful and balanced and out of this world.

Got food poisoning. Felt bad immediately after eating there. Will not go back. Ever.

I ordered chili relleno and a street style taco. These are my «test» dishes when I go to a Mexican restaurant for the first time. Food was good but not on the excellent level. Service was slow and the server seemed forgetful.

Very tasty food with great service. The place is very clean and has Norteña music to pep up your mood. Its not your typical baja street style food so many crave but delivers with a diverse menu and great flavors to suit any pallette.
The have lamb, goat, mondongo (beef intestine) cabeza, lengua as well as all your classics! 7 mares, birria and barbacoa (braised lamb). Definitely will return!

Finally a decent Mexican joint is back in town! Everything was fresh, delicious, authentic, and affordable! I ordered the sope meal which was fantastic and more than enough food! Service was a little slow considering there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant, but the food was worth the wait! I just wouldn’t advise coming if you’re in a big hurry. The waitress was sweet, the music was great, all and all it was a win and we’ll definitely be back again soon!

This is a restaurant you should try you will not be disappointed! The first thing that is awesome is that they have the best green salsa and they give you beans with your chips. Next everything I have tried has been delicous from the tortas with French fries to the tacos de lengua, menudo, enchiladas, carnitas I could go on! The staff are very nice the resturant is clean.

I have become addicted to this place! Everything is GOOD! They have this great green salsa! Whatever your favorite Mexican dish may be, this place is for sure going to make it the best!

Great food, great service. Great music and décor, the owners took their time to carefully paint beautiful images on walls inside and out to give this place a warm feel. Delicious tortillas made in-​house. This is authentic Mexican (I’m from so-​cal), large portions (I ordered fajitas for $ 14, seems like steep price, but I took half home, could have ordered this to share for two and we’d both be full), love the roasted chili peppers served with every dish, and bean dip served along with chips and great salsas. Carnitas are cooked perfectly, slightly crispy on outside, juicy and perfectly cooked meat. Unfortunately (and fortunately) when I go for lunch the restaurant is not busy at all, this place needs more business, please try it so it doesn’t go away!!! Now one of my favorites.
If I could change anything I would like to see the window curtains opened to let in more light, and so passersby can see inside and feel comfortable coming in.

The service is amazing our waitress was extremely respectful and very courteous! I food is so flavorful and authentic! I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed! Thank you guys!

Delicious and authentic! Reminds me of Mexican food back home! So no there will be no black beans on the menu to cater Humboldtians dietary choices. I had the Bistec Ranchero and my friends had Camerones de Ajo and two carne asada burritos. Every thing was delicious! The rice and beans were very tasty too! Can’t wait to go back!

I really love this place! I had never been here before and was looking for a restaurant that stayed open on Sunday nights late. It was so good! Especially the salsa so spicy! And delicious. Good flavored, great atmosphere. It’s rare that I find a Mexican restaurant in town I actually like because there are so few choices and not very much good authentic cooking! These people really put their heart into what they do and the food is beyond amazing. Definitely will be coming here again! Highly recommended!(:
