Stopped here for lunch with the wife. The food is pretty good, the staff that afternoon was just average. Ordered a margarita and a water never received the water. The food came very fast and was hot, it tasted pretty good. I may return honestly Los Gallos in the Bayshore mall is much better with better help. Overall not bad, not great.

For my food, I would give it 5 stars, but for my kid’s food, 0 stars. I love the cheese enchiladas with green chili here and the portions are perfect. Howerver, I recently took my 6-year-old son and when I asked the waiter about kid’s meals, he directed me to a taco combo that was $ 8.25. I asked if the taco was kid-friendly and not spicy and the waiter said it’s perfect for kids. NOTTRUE. The taco consisted of a soft corn tortilla with beef chunks in sauce covered in huge raw onions and cilantro. No cheese, no lettuce, and I don’t know any kids who will eat huge raw onions. I asked for the raw onions to be removed. The waiter did it, but left us for the next 30 minutes without any drink refills and missing several items we’d ordered. I would rate the service, therefore, at about 2 stars. Based on the waiter’s recommendation, I paid more than $ 8 for .50 cents worth of rice, which was all my kid would eat(and I didn’t blame him, the taco looked scary and gross). Even after the waiter and a manager noticed that he didn’t eat it, they still didn’t offer to give him a quesadilla or another option. RITA’S, GET A KID’S MENU! PLEASE! Learn some basic customer service! Very disappointed in the options for kids here.

My mom and I ate at Rita’s on 5th street today. We found a gray curly hair in our salsa. When we brought it to our waiters attention he began to argue with us that it was cilantro. Cilantro is a green leaf herb NOT a gray curly piece of hair. Be aware and check your food before eating here.

I thought the Margaritas would be better because they were recommended by the Best Western in Eureka. I thought it was terrible. There was 4 of us and the service was soon slow. It took 45 minutes to get our food. The restaurant was 25% filled. My shrimp tacos were good, but would never go back.

Why do people come to this restaurant? The food is mediocre, the organization is a mess. Service is slow, but it doesn’t seem to be the waiters faults, It seems the management is lacking. The food is of «carnival«quality. We went for happy hour. I thought the margarita for $ 4, wasn’t bad. The taquitos for $ 6, were dry and tough. The quesadilla was a plain flour tortilla, with meat and cheese… Boring…No guacamole or sour cream? I wish the owners would try their own food, or sit down for a meal in disguise and see what I saw! Get serious, you’ve got the customer base, pick up the place a notch!

warning!!! i ate here and paid with a card but left a cash tip. the next day i look at my online banking and my server added himself an extra $ 5!!! not cool at all! you are supposed to have trust in restaurants and that is just b. s!!! least authentic mexican in eureka. only went because my friend really wanted to. funny because she barely ate her food! on the upside the night server, fernando, refunded my $ 5 that the dishonest sever, Marlon,(who happens to be married to Ritas daughter) had givin himself! fernando explained that it was the computer having trouble but i work in the busiest restaurant in eureka and the computer system messes up but never adds tips on unless the server adds one!

LOVE the baja fish tacos and #4 Enchiladas. Huge portions and had a great waiter. My favorite is the option to order online for togo especially when they have specials.

I have been to the Fifth Street location many times with different sized groups, and have never been impressed. While their Mexican food is passable, it is about as far from authentic as you can get in Humboldt. Their margaritas are giant… you’re drinking out of what feels like a giant fishbowl, but you’re getting quantity not quality. But what always frustrates me every time I go, is the service. When you do have the server’s attention, the service is adaquate at best. And that’s assuming that they’ll even come over to check on you at any point during the meal. I have no idea how they stay so busy.

My boyfriend and I went to Rita’s for his birthday on Halloween(last night) and enjoyed it. We both had delicious food, got complimentary chip refill, and a birthday drink which is icing on the cake. I’ll definitely be going back. The margarita’s alone are enough of a reason to go back. I couldn’t even finish mine because they’re so big. It tasted super fresh, like a smoothie! Good service, good food, same prices as any other place. so I’m a fan! :)

We went here for the first time and had great service. The veggie burrito was great. I was expecting just a few different type of veggies but was pleasantly surprised with the variety! The chicken tacos were also wonderful.

What a wonderful surprise. I grade good Mexican food by the quality of their carnitas. Absolutely delicious! Menu is confusing but well worth the stop! We will be back!

Worst service of my life! This is the third time my family and I have been to the Fifth Street location, and every time we get absolutely awful service. This last time, we showed up and sat down. No one even looked at us for ten minutes. Then a group sat down behind us and immediately got served! The first two times, it took over an hour to get food. Never, ever going back there.

Have been a long time of Rita’s but it’s gone down hill fast. Service is awful, food is boring and lacks flavor, and more times then once my order is messed up and I have to ask more then once for items missed. Plenty of better Mexican restaurants in town.

Called in to go order was told it would be fifteen minutes. Showed up, waited another 45 minutes. Then was told it wasn’t here. Even though it had already been paid for. Waited another fifteen minutes, finally got sloppy burrito. Too many chances with this place. Never going back.

Great service and good food. You can tell this is a local spot. Definitely get the cadillac margarita.

The food is just ok, and service is lacking when they are busy. No drink refills, they ran out of rum for a piña colada, but instead of asking if we would like a different drink, brought it over and said they would charge less. If we wanted a virgin drink we would have ordered one. They took away the salsa mid meal, and never brought a second basket of chips we asked for. Had to ask for silverware.

I came when they first opened the fifth street location, ordered vegan tamales. The options listed on the menu are meat, vegetarian, and vegan. They served tamales with cheese, and when I pointed out the problem I was told that vegan tamales do not exist, despite then being listed on the menu. Years later, I went back. It’s still on the menu and still does not exist. Guys, it’s not okay to serve cheese to vegans. I’ve had some other vegan options there, usually with alterations. It’s possible, but given the active and ongoing misuse of the language, it’s hard to trust. I can’t remember liking anything in particular. I’ve regretted the chorizo tofu a few times.
