Really wish I could be nicer. I want this place to be fun. The good: Music, bottled beverage they can’t screw up. Venue itself minus the smell of terrible seafood. The bad: Really dirty. Bad service. Saw inside the kitchen and behind the bars and it looks disgusting. Seriously could use Gordon Ramsey to come in and set some thing straight. Literally worried about food poisoning. Anyway, stick to bottled beer and shots. Update! Wrote the review last night. Have been violently ill all day today. Great times!

Bad experience. Long waits for everything other than alcohol. Great potential though. Maybe I was just there on an off night. Considering the competition, I won’t be returning any time soon.

I’ve heard about the kilowats so I was excited to try! Kilowat was great and oysters were YUM! service was AWFUL. we had to ask for menus. Waited almost 10 min to get out order taken, & once I placed my order I never saw our server again. My friend had to go flag her down just to get our checks and then she was rude about it. If you get a server named Allison I’m sorry b/c she’s awful. Hopefully next time we get a better server! Place is great!

We were greeted by a lovely lady voraciously chewing gum. That should have been a clue… We were able to get a patio table after about 20 minutes(told it was an hour and a half wait.) Our waitress was great; friendly and prompt although did have to request plates for shared appetizers. The fried mushrooms are very good. Our main food was mediocre. During our meal, management decided to replace the light bulbs in the broken fan above the table next to ours. The poor bus boy trying to change the bulb standing on a chair, dropped a bulb and broken glass all over the floor. He did his best to sweep it up and then continued. Wrong size light bulbs and no clue how to put the light back on kept it an ordeal that lasted throughout our meal. Finally the manager? came over and in her dress and sandals stood on the chair and got the fixture in place. What a relief!!! Not a place to return. Fayetteville now has lots of good places to eat– this isn’t one of them!

Used to be a Fayetteville staple. Unfortunately has gone down hill. Service is slow, portions are small, food isn’t cheap. Hopefully will get new management — sad Powerhouse has gotten this way.

The food is cheap but there’s a reason. Very small portions and the food is terrible. The best part about the meal was the cornbread they give you. We ordered fried alligator and it tasted like fried food you get from walmart and bake in the oven, very soggy. Also, it tasted like catfish, not alligator. We got a pizza for our daughter and it was 4 tiny pieces that all together equated to the size of a slice of bread. I will not ever go back.

My boyfriend and I went there yesterday evening to enjoy one of their famous drinks called kilowatt. At first we went to sit at the bar and the bartender told us she didn’t have time to clean it. We ended up sitting at table right by the bar and the whole time this same bartender was talking bad about all the customers and the manager to people sitting at the bar. I use to love coming to powerhouse but not anymore. Danielle was the bartender and she needs to be fired! I will not be recommending this place anymore. Very unprofessional and not a good environment.

Jesse was a great server. Food was good. Drinks were awesome. I had the blackened tilapia and the garlic mashed potatoes. The rest of the staff was very pleasant. Food came out promptly. Happy customer.

First off, I have been here many times, but tonight was the best. The food and atmosphere has always been good, but the service was the best this time. Jessie was great. He said he had only been working there a couple weeks, but he knew his stuff. Everyone should try the kilowatt, it is great and packs a punch!

This is one of my favorite local places to eat. Had the raw oysters and fried pickles last night. Everything is ALWAYS delicious. Can’t wait to come back!

I know I’m going to sound like a food snob, but this was one of the worst dining experiences. Powerhouse was recommended to me when I first moved here. I ordered the oysters Rockefeller. This amounted to oyster shells filled with spinach and bread crumbs with an oyster that looked like it came out of a can. I asked the waitress to take it way. Then I ordered the shrimp alfredo. It was clumpy… I picked up some linguine and it all clumped together on my fork. I could tell it had been sitting around a while. So I sent that back and said«you know, I’ll just have the crab bisque». This came out and it tasted like a bottle of sherry. I said«forget it». I heard later that people go for the Killowats or whatever the drink is. I’ve rarely sent food back but 3 times? Eek.

Okay food for a little higher price. It’s like an Applebee’s that serves seafood. One upside is the interior decoration. There is nothing special on the menu though.

The story behind the restaurant and the atmosphere are the highlights of this place. Beyond that I wasn’t highly impressed. It’s location is close to Dickson street which makes it convenient for a night out but, it is a little difficult to find the entrance if you haven’t been there before. The high ceilings and ample seating makes for a pleasant dining experience but, that’s really where the positives end for me. The menu has way too many options. I know it says that this is because people love everything on the menu but, I have my doubts that this is the case. To me it seems that this large menu is confusing and just means that each menu item gets less attention than it deserves. I had the blackened catfish poboy and I have to say there wasn’t anything special about it. Of our party of four no one had a meal that they felt was particularly outstanding. I definitely won’t be back again unless it is just for drinks.

We were recommended this place by a professor at the university who insisted it was the best food in the area. We had a group of 8 of us and arrived around 1:30 so we were able to be sat pretty quickly. However the service was extremely slow. Drinks took a long time to arrive and we waiting a while to even order. Once we ordered food, it came out quickly. The kilowatt is a strong drink for sure! The food was good, but not horrible. I am not used to cajun food since I am from the midwest. It was ok, not write home and figure out how to get this back home good, but it was fine.

I took my dad here during his visit to Fayetteville and I really regret it. The staff was not very friendly and the prices were way high for the amount of food they served. Also the food was mediocre. I don’t recommend this place.

This place has been around for years. I think it may have been my baby bro who first introduced me to it. The location is tucked way ‘back adjacent to the cemetery(and you have to keep on driving beyond the parking garage next to George’s Majestic). There is plenty of parking but even that disappears fast during the busy hours. Tonight a friend recommended the visit. He had made some convincing recommendations to include, live music on the back patio and ½ price bottle of wine night. By the time I arrived I barely found a parking spot(see earlier comment). It was muggy outside, hence, muggy on the patio(grimace). The patio service was«on it» and attentive(thanks). Very interesting was that the owner made the rounds. It appeared to me that he stopped at every table table to chat – always a special treat for me. I ordered the grilled oysters and an appetizer sampler. Although I asked my server for a recommendation I only followed one(of three) being the green beans, and my own choice of the crab eggrolls, and crab cake. The green beens were delectible. The eggrolls were interesting. and the crab cake had too much bell pepper(for me) though one of my table companions enjoyed it. Same companion(s) had eaten dinner before I joined them and they had only praises for their earlier meal. I also ordered a bottle of wine(½ price), Pino Grigio, Itailian(okay…I can’t remember the vintner). My palate is becoming more and more resistant to «sweet» so I wasn’t too keen on my selection. Again, table companions enjoyed(the wine) more than I did.(From now on for me – only drier red blends or Zin.) The music was too loud, and that was disappointing since I had intended to converse with my table companions, but good. The other items on the menu looked quite enticing. I will definitely return – often.

It’s pretty obvious that everything here goes straight from the freezer to the fryer to a plate. The portions were small and the price tag way too high for what you get, especially given the quality. I definitely won’t be back, and I would urge anyone else to just go to red lobster instead– it’ll be cheaper and better.

We started by joining the World Foam Tour and choosing a Germany beer to start Along with a mixed drink. The beer was excellent but the mixed drink was a little light on the pour. We tasted with their signature appetizer crab roll served with raspberry sauce. It was a rice wrapped filled with cram cheese crab shrimp and peppers then fried to a light golden brown. We enjoyed this despite it being fried. Warm cornbread was brought to the table, but it was just ok. For our entry we chose the 8 ounce filet NewOrleans cooked medium rare with grilled veggies and sautéed Mushrooms. The steamed was served wrapped in bacon and cooked nicely. The topping was unremarkable crab and shrimp. The grilled veggies were very good but they shrooms were canned and the only thing we didn’t finish. For dessert we tried the carrot cake. It was served warm and very good.

The atmosphere is great for bringing friends and/or family, or enjoying a date night. You can dress casual or dress up, there’s normally a mix of both :) Their crab legs are really good priced and very well cooked. The wait staff is normally very attentive and fun. I’ve been here about four times and I have never left disappointed! Their red beans and rice for a side is SO good!
