I can’t believe this location closed down! We loved this place and are so disappointed it’s gone.

Walked by the place a little iffy thinking it would be just another burrito joint, but boy was I wrong! The staff was awesome, very friendly and laid back. Food was great,! They basically massage the goodness of ingredients together and they explode in your mouth! The restaurant itself has a very comfy but yet explosive feel, I say that because there is literally a motorcycle coming through the wall! Definately a must try if in the area. I just wish there was one near linden!

I love burritos but this place left something to be desired. My husband and I ordered a monster sized steak burrito. It was made with care and well stuffed, but the ingredients overall were just lacking. Starting with the steak– it was nice and soft, but was inconsistently seasoned so parts of it were too salty. Also it just tasted a little old. For the tortilla, they were out of the spinach. The rice wasn’t flavored very well and tasted overcooked. The garlic chips are good in concept, but as a warning, if you include them, all you’ll taste is garlic. Couldn’t really taste the corn or pico de Gallo. The black beans, sour cream, and cheese were fine. Overall, nice location, relatively cheap for amount of food, but just not worth it taste wise when there’s a Chipotle around the corner.

Excellent food, service is unbelievably good, they were able to accommodate my granddaughter’s «Celiac» need — no gluten — by cooking her corn tortilla on fresh aluminum foil. He knew what he was doing!

Good selection. Always fresh. Good service. Tonight it’s the chicken burrito and the lite chicken bowl. But selected steak instead.

Seriously. If you have not yet been here, what are you waiting for? I know that people claim this is a «Chipotle» knock-off, but the two cannot be compared(although if I had to pick, I’d come here!). The food was incredibly flavorful. There were not as many protein options as similar restaurants(steak/chicken/carnitas only), but it hardly mattered because they were all so good. I liked that you could add things that other places don’t have as toppings, such as cilantro and roasted garlic. I can’t wait to move to Folsom so I’ll just be a 2 minute drive away from this place. I’m dying to try a custom plate of nachos(they also have huge chocolate chip cookies that look amazing)!

Mmmm… BBQ Classic Chicken is ugh, so goooooooood. Why didn’t I check this place out sooner? The chicken is flavorful, you can really taste the charbroiled flavor and it even has a crispy texture, too. The BBQ sauce is sweet but not overpowering. There is also yummy Spanish rice and cilantro mixed in there, too. Gosh it was so good. Did I mention that it was good? Because goddammit, it is. So much better than Chipotle! Another thing I love about Freebirds is that they offer a variety of sizes, from small(hybrid), medium(freebirds), and the largest of them all. appropriately named, «Monster.» I have a small appetite so the hybrid size was perfect for me. I liked Chipotle’s burrito, but I could only finish half of it. So the options for different sizes was helpful. You order your food just like Chipotle. You pick the ingredients, and the Freebirds staff will customize it for you. There is also chips and soda you can order, too. I didn’t order the chips but I bet it tastes amazing! The décor here is also pretty badass. It makes me feel like I’m in a bar where the motorcyclists hang out at. There is a large image of a guitar at the far end of the restaurant, a life-sized motorcycle hanging on the ceiling, etc. I love it here and I’m so glad I stopped by for lunch. I was looking at the paper menu and I noticed they have soft tacos, too. I’m definitely going to try that the next time I stop by for sure. I can’t wait to come back.

They get stingier and stingier every time I come in. Always trying to charge me extra for anything. Apparently they charge extra for a tortilla on your burrito now… So… Yeah…

We have no complaints. We choose Free birds always over Chipotle. The staff is always friendly. It is clean. The food is always good too. The only complaint is about parking. We do a lot of pick up orders, so finding a parking spot to run in real quick is not convienent.

I have been going to Freebirds since I went to UCSB. It wouldn’t be fair to compare the chain to the original since they are different organizations. I will say that the staff in Folsom is excellent and the food is consistently great. I love the burrito bowl!

So in our further exploration of Folsom we decided to stop and grab a bite to eat. The boo suggested this place and I’m so glad he did. This place has such a cool vibe and the people that work here do too. Phillip was amazing. We decided to get a monster chicken burrito and he was nice enough to split it for us to share. The burrito was so delicious and flavorful. Splitting it was absolutely perfect and good enough to hold us over until dinner. Phillip even came over to check on us as it wasn’t super busy in there. He was so nice and personable. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely come back to say hi to Phillip and grab another awesome burrito or try something new.

Folsom location being the only one I’ve visited, their service was awesome. Made an order online for a super monster burrito and before I even got home to enjoy it, the wonderful assistant manager called me back to apologize and said he had given me the wrong size. He offered to come back for a freebird on the house!!! Made my day. Loyal services indeed.

Came to this location for dinner last nite before catching the Jurassic World at the Palladio Cinemas. This was my 2nd Freebirds experience, w/my first being at the location closer to home in Natomas a while back. I recall not being impressed on that initial visit, but my husband must’ve fondly remembered his. I remember thinking, this is just another version of Chipotle, which I’m ok with but never find myself craving it. This time around, our experiences switched: I was VERY happy w/my hybrid(smallest size) burrito & the hubby thought his was just ok. In fact, he says his steak, spanish rice, jack cheese in flour burrito was actually pretty bland. My thought? «Well, that’s typical you & you food choices, honey.» Apparently he needed some salsa or hot sauce or something. I decided to try a different type of burrito than I’m used to ordering. This time I went w/their Spinach wrapper, ALWAYS carnitas for the meat choice, jack cheese, whole pinto beans, cilantro rice, some corn-mix stuff, tomato, more cilantro, & their seasonal salsa which was a roasted tomato-garlic-jalepeno that had a nice smokey flavor to it. After a few bites in, I knew this experience would change, in a good way, my thoughts about Freebirds… it was delicious! That salsa really made the difference, as most of it gave a resembling flavor profile as a Chipotle burrito. What I like about this place over its rival is the variety in fillers, wrapper(also had flour, wheat, & cayenne!), & size of the burrito(offer Freebird & Monster sizes). They also offer bowls, tacos, nachos, salads, etc. The place was very clean & the service here was nice, although when we walked in & saw there were only 2 people behind the counter helping customers, we thought the wait would be a while, especially since there was 1 more person ahead of us w/already a wait in line of ~5−10min. We almost walked out, but there were any other good places to grab a quick bite to eat, other than Johnny Rockets. But I’m glad we stayed & was able to eat that wonderful burrito. It really was the perfect size for what I needed & again tasted great! Not sure if it was the service or the food, but this visit has sparked me to try this again in the future.

I went to Freebirds for the first time today for lunch, I thought the choices offered were good and was looking forward to eating that burrito! — while watching the employee finish off my burrito, I saw him smooshing all the ingredients together in the tortilla, I was shocked — the vision of beautiful burrito was gone :(Yes, the employee had mushed everything together in to just an ugly MUSH. The overall flavor was ok but you didn’t get any of those awesome looking separate ingredient tastes. The service was good and the person helping me was very chatty however, just because of the«Mush», I will not return to the restaurant again. It really turned me off.

I wish I could leave less than one star. $ 28 for 4 tacos because I added guac and sour cream. This is ridiculous.

First time here after we have been meaning to come for a while. Great customer service. Our server helped us order as the menu is completely custom similar to Chipotle. He also helped us redeem the free burrito on my account with ease. Only reason for 4 stars is that they should have a tofu option or a seafood option for the meat selections. They only have carnitas, pork and chicken. Regular veggie option is with avocado/guacamole. They do have several tortilla options… tomato, spinach, whole wheat and regular. Also, they have«adopt-a-family» trees here, but it seems to cater to the same family rather than several people. One person had several«requests» for Christmas gifts.

Any restaurant that my Husband and I enjoy eating at equally deserves 5 stars in my book. We have been to Freebirds probably a dozen times but always get the same thing… The Nachos. Amazing. Fresh chips topped with all the toppings that your little heart desires and CHEESESAUCE. Yes, they make their own Queso SAUCE here(not your typical shredded cheese) and I cannot get enough of it. I always get the Vegetarian Nachos and top them with refried beans, lettuce, corn, cilantro, salsa, avocado and that Queso sauce. Yummy! My Husband gets the Carnitas Nachos which he tops with bacon, death sauce, and everything else known to man. I love how we both can have lunch here for about $ 20 and have a great time while doing it. Employees are always helpful and friendly(especially the cashier!) and there are plenty of tables to sit at inside and eat as well as a small patio outside. Parking can sometimes(ok, most of the time) be difficult at the Palladio, but fortunately Freebirds is located a short walk from the parking garage.

I finally got around to trying this place last weekend, and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. With a Chipotle disaster fresh in my mind, I was able to make a good comparison of food quality and customer service. Located next to that overrated Chicago Fire Pizza restaurant inside the Palladio shopping center, parking can be an issue depending on what time you go. My wife and I had to park in the garage directly behind the restaurant and take a short walk. As we made our way to the food assembly line, we were immediately greeted by a friendly staff who offered to answer any questions we had about the menu. After staring at the huge menu board above the food station for a few minutes, I decided to try the carnitas burrito so that I could compare it to the Sh** Potle burrito I wasted my money on a few days earlier. Burritos at FWB come in three sizes — Hybrid(small), Freebird(medium), and the monster(large). Since I didn’t know what to expect., I opted for the Freebird($ 7.25) since the menu stated that it was the burrito that the restaurant is known for. Once I customized my burrito with cilantro –lime rice, whole pinto beans, roasted veggies, diced jalapenos, and their«death» sauce — I quickly realized that I was not going to be able to finish it. The flavor of the carnitas here far exceeded the dried out version at that other place. Furthermore, the burrito itself was well constructed. In other words, each bite was consistent throughout. I hate it when you get a burrito and rice is on one side and the meat is on the other. In my opinion, this place is a slight step up in both customer service and food quality compared to Chipoodle. Although parking can be a hassle, ordering and paying for food is a quick and easy process. The staff was really friendly, and there is plenty of seating available –both inside and out. My only recommendation is to offer more meat options –like Adobada or al Pastor. As it stands now –the restaurant only offers the basics– steak, chicken, or carnitas.
