We have been to Rubios a few times and really liked it. THe lobster burrito is the bomb! So tasty with the basil butter sauce. I really like the staff too very friendly. The chips are just ok but the tacos and burritos with fish or shrimp always taste delicious.

It’s OK in my book for a chain. Two of us had a quick dinner here the other day. My mahi mahi fish tacos were pretty good. I wish they offered unlimited chips/salsa like some other places — our order took a while. In the end, it was all good. Better than McD’s, more on par with Chick-fil-A. If I’m in the neighborhood I’d eat here again — more likely I’d eat at the Indian place next door, however.

We experienced bad service twice. The sangria without fruit and counter service help was unfriendly when delivering our order and when correcting it.

I love Rubio’s but not this one! I ordered a salmon taco and I told them no corn on it our sauce and they put corn on it and no sauce. So I brought it back and it said on the receipt NOCORN. So they remade it and they put no corn but sauce! What is this, fast food. This is ridiculous. I won’t come here again.

Burrito was good, had the baja chicken burrito. Came with some chips. They have a salsa bar you can choose what you like. Place was clean and although Very busy, my food came out in a reasonable time. They were quickly cleaning tables as guests left and it looked like the manager was doing it. I will eat here again. My mom said the Fish tacos were very good. Took one star off because I wished my chips were warm.

Normally I am a fan of Rubio’s Original Fish Taco. Beer battered pollock, salsa, slaw and a white sauce, how could you go wrong. The last few times including yesterday it missed the mark. Maybe the oil is dirty but the taste has been way off. Also beware the street tacos are very expensive for what you get. They used to be a 4 star joint but they have slipped. I think I will take them off the rotation.

We use to come to Rubio’s at least 2x a week but no longer. This particular Folsom Rubio’s is just below par. And we’ve given it a lot of chances hoping they would get their act together. On a number of occasions the food was served cold. We have ordered take out and parts of the order were missing. A few times the service was just lacking. We’ve even experienced rude management. All around there is no real customer orientation. Once we placed a to go order for over $ 200. The manager told us to use small salsa cups(if you can even call them cups) for the 25 person order. It was wasteful from both a time and materials standpoint. And he was quite rude about the whole thing. It use to be a convenient place we would frequent often. Now if we crave tacos or burritos… We go elsewhere.

Really good food. And great environment. Loved the burritos, enchiladas and tacos. And specially the sauces. Will be part of my regular places for lunch.

This is a chain fast casual go to for the hubby and I. We’re definitely regulars. The service and staff are great. Best quick seafood around with fresh, interesting flavors. Honestly, better than alot of sit down restaurants. Pretty consistent with their food and love their salsa bar.

The fish tacos on a corn tortilla are excellent with a twist of lime. And on Taco Tuesday they are only $ 1.50 each. Cant go wrong there! The salsa bar is quite tasty as well.

Everyone, at some point, will make a mistake. What differentiates the companies that earn my future business are those that own the mistake and do whatever is necessary to remedy it. My daughter was turning 17 and we ordered a bunch of food via the website to cater the event. Upon returning home with the food, we found out that Rubios forgot to include the tortillas for the taco bar… hmmm not good. I called Devon who immediately owned the error, and offered to drive the tortillas up to my house in El Dorado Hills, 15 minutes away. He arrived promptly, apologized, and provided us some free taco coupons. We frequent the restaurant often for fast, savory Mexican food which is always good. Very happy to report the service levels match the quality of the food– a rarity these days.

Ordered at 357 pm. 17 minutes later the meal for my kid and me comes. 17 minutes. 1st taco’s shell is stale. They have 2 people working. 1 dude in the kitchen working his ass off. 1 totally personality lacking front cashier person. Her name is Megan. Management needs to staff this location properly and reevaluate Megans ability to provide service. She is robot. I will be avoiding this Rubios and you should too.

Best place for Mahi Mahi tacos! I eat here(takeout 99% of the time) about 4x a week. The fish tacos & salads are all I ever get, and are by far the best I’ve had. Mark, the manager, is very personable & helpful and goes above & beyond to make sure the order is correct, & you are satisfied with everything. If other restaurants had people like Mark & Alicia(another employee here) I’d probably eat out more than I do. Great service brings customers back

Love this place! How the food is always awesome the staff is always very friendly and pretty quick for the fresh food that they make. I love the salsa bar and their help yourself free refill drinks and the fact that you can get a beer if you want. Sign up for the birthday Beach Club and you get a free taco coupon too and the free birthday meal every year I love it!

Love the food, the pricing is not bad, the service is usually above average… my only complaint would be that on several occasions, we’ve observed those manning the cashier station move from there to the«bag of chips» filling station — without washing hands, without putting on sanitary gloves. Needless to say, I don’t eat their chips. But other than that… it’s good stuff.

A weekend favorite lunch spot for the whole family. Love the habanero mahi mahi tacos, shrimp, and chipotle orange salad. Had the pacific mahi mahi tacos today(limited time item) and they were delish! Only negative is the limited seating inside. During the warm months, the outdoor seating is great.

Oh my gaaahh! WHY has it taken me so long to go to Rubio’s? Why. What the butts. The fish tacos are simply the best. They are perfect, and two are plentiful as they are filling. I can’t get over the sauce they put on these babies! The service has been great on both occasions, even with them being fairly busy. The gal who took our order this past visit was all smiles as she greeted us. I believe her name was Jessica — she was very sweet and patient. The guy who brought us our food had great energy and was well-mannered. They really maintain the cleanliness inside and keep the salsa bar full. Plus, how could I forget their mango iced tea — ahhh! I’m so glad I finally discovered Rubio’s — yes, very late on this discovery, but better than never. We’re in January currently, and it’s been pretty cold lately, but this place is my little slice of sunshine where I can pretend I’m chowing on fish tacos on the white sands of the beach! Now only if I could get a tropical tan to compliment this obsession… ;)

I used to love Rubios but they have changed on me. At lunch today, they skimped on the meat, I had to hunt for the tiny pieces, and they felt it necessary to cut the burrito in half which makes for messier eating. Their green salsa was good enough but the chipotle tasted like it had fish sauce as the main ingredient, not what you’d want when you’re not expecting. I usually give a place a couple of tries before I review in the negative but this was so disappointing that I felt it needed to be said. I may try them one more time before I give up so keep posted.

This place is just bad. My first impression was great, but it was from the Tucson location, and it was free for me, and my sister had really hyped it up. Still, I was impressed enough to try the Folsom location when I got back into town. The food is just not good. It’s not even like Americanized Mexican. It’s kind of like ordering taquitos from the frozen section of the grocery store, but paying restaurant prices instead. Plus they charge you for chips and salsa. Seriously? Who does that? Anyways, I was convinced by my coworker to give this place another try, because they had a promotion running where if you make one purchase, you get free chips and guacamole with your second purchase, and I will do pretty much anything for guacamole. So I came in and ordered taquitos. I noticed that there was only one meat on the menu, and asked if I could have a different meat, and was told that this was not possible. Frozen taquito theory: confirmed. How else can it not be possible to give me another meat? If you are rolling taquitos, you can put whatever meat you want in there, obviously. So whatever. I bought the frozen taquitos, and they were terrible. It was like eating chicken from a can, except if that canned chicken had been badly frozen and then fried in dirty oil. I didn’t even come back for the free chips and guacamole, and the coworker who convinced me to come here is on my naughty list.
