The Worst Sushi Bar

The store owners are super nice which really makes me want to give it a four star rating but really, the food isn’t too great. The rolls were wrapped too quickly thus resulting in breakage when you pick the damn thing up. The fish wasn’t very fresh either. People who are hyping up this place really need to try authentic, fresh, sushi. Overall, service ⁵⁄₅ and food is ²⁄₅.

A rarely think of the best sushi place in town as my «favorite restaurant» around because it is such a niche cuisine, but I think this place is the best dining experience in town. The sushi and Japanese style food is fresh, amazing quality and masterfully prepared by a gracious and friendly two-​man show — husband and wife team. This is exactly the type of place every resident who enjoys sushi or asian food in general should support.
It has great sushi, japanese bento boxes, chicken and steak dishes for the raw averse, and even the miso soup is among the best I’ve had. The location is tucked away in an unsuspecting office park, and the interior could use a face lift, but this only adds to the legend of this place among locals who know about it, and travelers who have found it on Unilocal and are willing to find it. An absolute must visit.

We loved the food here. The sauce for the gyoza is to die for. They let us sample a special roll too. We will definitely be back!

I recently went in for the second time yesterday, and just like before I was treated very warmly by the lady and gentleman working there. They make great sushi (I got the spicy crab and shrimp tempura rolls… yum!!) but the level of customer service is what got me back in the door again. This will definitely be my go-​to place!

Wow, I am so glad that I asked Suri for a «sushi place near me»! I had just pulled off of 95 onto route 17 on my way home from work and decided that sushi would be great for dinner — if only I knew of a place nearby. We moved to Fredericksburg last summer, so I wasn’t overly familiar with options in the area.
I followed my google map directions to the location and almost kept driving. This place is in an industrial center with a sign out front «Worst Deli». I thought… hmmmm… maybe I’m in the wrong place? I pulled into a parking spot and pulled up my google search again and read the Unilocal reviews just to be sure. Yes, this was the place. So, I tentatively got out of my car and approached the doors and stepped inside. I was greeted with such a friendly smile and welcomed up to the «sushi hut». The restaurant inside is a bit underwhelming, but oh my goodness the sushi hut — with all the fresh sushi was amazing! Mr. «O» and Suki were so friendly and made great recommendations! Not only was everything fresh and very tasty — Mr. O took the time to make my «to go box» visually appealing. Suki also prepared me a sample of one of their special sushi rolls, and cucumber salad. Both were equally delicious! My husband and I just finished dinner, and both agree that this is definitely «our sushi place»! We will definitely be regulars here! The Worst Sushi Bar is by far the BEST Sushi Bar.

Best sushi I’ve ever had, awesome service, very nice people. New favorite spot for sure. ⁵⁄₅ all around.

Stopped here for lunch. Each roll is very tasty and the service is super friendly. We’ll definitely come back here as one of our favorite sushi places in the area.

Worst Sushi was amazing… First time eating sushi and I will be coming back! The Mr. O roll is great for someone who is new to sushi, or just anyone is general. And the customer service was excellent.

We tried this restaurant after reading the reviews here on Unilocal.I am a big sushi lover and this place did not disappoint. The employees were super helpful and very nice. We ordered to go orders and they served us a fresh cucumber salad and three pcs of spicy crab sushi for free while we waited for our order. It took about 15 minutes to get our order (end of the night) but it was worth it because everything was made fresh. We had the teriyaki steak meal with vegetables, fried rice, miso soup, and a salad. We also ordered 3 sushi rolls. All the food was amazing and you can’t beat the service.

It was «ok», but there are way better sushi places in Stafford/​Fredericksburg. Try Umi on 610 or their location on US1. If you can eat a metric ton of sushi like me, the best cheap sushi in the area is at the Hibachi Buffet on 610.

This place has the absolute best Sushi! Its tucked away off of highway 17. It’s always so fresh and the customer service is fabulous. I would highly recommend all to visit this best kept secret.

Delicious food and delightful service. I like family-​own businesses coz you always get great service and tasteful food, and we got both today at the worst sushi bar. We ordered a chicken and sashimi lunch boxes! Very generous portions and fresh ingredients, we ate everything! The house and cucumber salads were full of flavor. What a nice surprise to find this place in our way to Williamsburg! Coming back very soon, oh yea!

So glad this place is open later now! Great quality sushi and very flavorful. I called in an order and the waitress was very helpful. I will definitely be going back soon!

The worst sushi bar is the best sushi bar! I loved it! The lady was very nice and helped with suggestions. I love to try new things and the sushi was amazing. The prices was also great too. Highly recommend. It is a bit hidden, but worth it!

First off I have to say that I am a big Sushi Lover! I am so glad that I found this Sushi bar. To begin, the waitress which I think is the owner, has so MUCH energy and she is exciting to be around. We ordered 3 Sushi Rolls and they were all delicious. The best roll was the spicy crab and shrimp tempura roll! It was definitely in my top 5 rolls that I have eaten.

Very good sushi! Very sweet staff. Takes a little long for order because is made fresh by one guy but I thought it was all worth it. We were offered a complementary cucumber salad to try. I don’t think this is offered to everyone, it was good.

Wow who would have known.
Even though this place is located in some industrial commercial building. The sushi actual speaks for itself. It is also part of «The Worst Deli Ever».
So me and the wife came here after a friends wedding close to closing. We were looking for good spot to eat in this area and there wasn’t much. We ordered the Volcano roll, chef special roll with fried tempura and crabmeat on top, and she ordered the Futomaki roll. We also got the spicy tuna roll. We got this to go. I believe the wife of the place took our order, her energy was all over the place but she was very nice. She did make us a cucumber salad while we were waiting which was helpful since we were hungry.
The volcano roll had this fish roe topping which was delicious, and the chef special roll was my favorite. Spicy tuna was good also. I would recommend this to people looking for some sushi.

Update: 2÷13÷16 — This is our favorite sushi place. End of story. They are the nicest people we’ve ever met and they always remember us. The food is just the best there is. The spicy crab roll — I could eat them all day long. It is the best in the area hands down.
Sushi has slowly been growing on me over the years. Seeing the perfect rating on Unilocal led us to this place this evening. After our experience, I can’t wait to go back!
The service was really good. The lady working was extremely sweet and helpful. She was very prompt with our drinks and refills and made us feel at home.
We ordered several rolls. I went with Shrimp Tempura and after seeing a photo on here, the chefs special spicy crab roll. Both were so good that I can’t wait to go back here in a few days and have it again.
We were given soup to start which was unexpected. We also were given a cucumber salad appetizer as well as two sample rolls.
We loved every part of eating here. Everyone was friendly and the food was so good — don’t me afraid of the building being in an office park — it’s truly a hidden gem.

What a great find… located in a business park behind chikfila and RiteAid is the most unassuming and amusingly named sushi/​deli; but this review is based on my sushi experience.
They have an extensive menu with a wide variety of rolls that even a seasoned sushi monger would raise their eyebrows and nod in approval. A seasoned sushi chef with 20 years experience from Seoul Korea, shines through in expertly crafted rolls with quality ingredients. There are both lunch and dinner bento/​combo boxes available to meet anyone’s taste buds from, chicken, shrimp, beef, spicy pork, scallops and teriyaki chicken. I got the spicy pork which I devoured easily, great flavors, tender, just the right amount of spice and perfect rice. The combos come with two dumplings and an iceberg salad with a thousand island type dressing, i hate iceberg… it could have been better with leafy greens.
I’d go back but I have to see what other neat places are close before I frequent here twice.

What more can I say than OMG THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!
I work at a business close to here and we order delivery anytime someone wants sushi. I will pass up my own lunch that is already packed and ready to eat to order here.
I either go with the shrimp box or the chicken box, both being lunch specials and both being o so good. Both boxes come with a side salad and yum yum sauce as the dressing (amazing)(make sure you order extra yum yum for the box of food), 2 dumplings that are sitting in a sauce just waiting for you to gobble up, 4 California rolls with ginger and wasabi and soy wait you are saying theres even more yes yes I am. Then theres a heaping pile of delicious vegetables including cabbage carrots peppers in a sauce that is addiciting. On top of the veggies is the shrimp (about 6 – 8 pieces honestly I dont remember because they are gone so fast) or the chicken. Once everything is gone I drink yes drink the sauce sitting at the bottom. I have a bad habbit of finishing everything.
I have yet to have a bad box and will continue ordering every chance I get. To be honest I might order some today, tomorrow and maybe the next. It is seriously that good.
