Fiesta Burger is one of the best burgers in Houston. That alone gets 5 stars. Service is good. Everything I have had for food there is top notch. Nothing like any of the other Coaches throughout Houston. Get the Fiesta Burger

Food & drinks are good. The place is half empty & the service is horrible. My friend asked for ranch three times & never got any. Currently waiting for about 20 minutes for the guy to take our money so we can leave. He even walked by & we waved it in his face and he ran by to go hug a buddy of his. Disappointing to say the least.

Local sports bar in downtown Houston. Plenty of screens to watch the games on . Daily food and drink specials. Food recommendations: The dry rub wings, the seafood gumbo and the Coaches Classic Pub Burger.

Large TVs and spacious! However no «drink menu» and margarita and the rocks wasn’t great. I asked for sugar and got salt on the rim. Service not too impressive.

After waiting for an hour and a half with no steak in sight at Little Woodrow’s, my friends and I decided to walk over to Coaches to try their steak night instead. I was concerned when I saw how empty they were, but I shouldn’t have been so quick to judge. Everything was cooked perfectly. The steak tasted great and I was excited that I could have salad and broccoli as sides instead of just a potato. It was cheaper and they take credit cards. The service was excellent as well. They seem to have great prices and specials throughout the week so I will definitely start going there more often!

I love the variety of draft beer! The bartender was very polite and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this pub for those who like a bar where you can actually converse, relax, and watch the game. Down to earth type of pub. Also it has plenty of TV’s! Wings and classic burger were delicious!

Football season and Coach’s Pub make a great pair. We met friends here for games last year and always had a blast. We started with pre-season this year and really enjoy this place. It is rarely crowded and there are plenty of TVs to watch your game. The wings are great — maybe a bit spicy, but nothing a cold drink can’t tame. The fried pickles are also really tasty. Service has never been a problem and I have never been disappointed with the food. There is also plenty of room for groups of friends.

Went for steak night and was really impressed. Great steak, salad and side for $ 14. Wednesday is also Texas beer specials too. Good experience all around. Server Stephanie was great too.

I’m a fan. Found parking easily on a weeknight. Great specials/prices for a midtown location. Huge High Def Tv’s everywhere. Very calming vibe. Very clean and comfortable. I’ve had a steak here and I had the lasagna last night. Both were good bar grub. Staff was great. She knew how to adjust the tv’s quickly and easily. I can’t tell you how incredibly impressed I was by that. So many times you go somewhere and they act put out that you ask them to put on a sporting event and only like 1 person has a clue how to change the channel. You have to ask like 5 times and it takes 20 minutes sometimes. Service last night was great though at Coaches Pub! I think the Vandy Alumni meet there. They had a good turn out and there was a good amount of folks in there cheering on the US Women’s Team. They had 2 good looking dart boards there too.

I’ve been to Coaches Pub three times in the last month to watch sporting events. It’s a good place for it as there are TVs everywhere in this place. The service has always been good and the food is decent. The nachos were just so so, but the fiesta burger and fried mushrooms were good. Haven’t tried the crawfish yet. Since this place is in midtown, parking could be a problem, but I haven’t experienced this personally. The other thing to keep in mind is that they have satellite TV which goes out during heavy rains, though the manager managed to get the Rockets game via broadcast TV when this happened when I was there.

After spending the better part of a day and night in Downtown H-Town I wanted to get away from all the hustle and bustle –not to mention $ 10 Jack & Cokes– to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon and catch the Clippers-Rockets game. After a quick Unilocal search I narrowed it down to a few spots but chose Coaches based on its close proximity(5 cab ride from the Hilton Americas) and reviews that mentioned its laid back, friendly atmosphere. Sure enough, Unilocalers were on point. Very chill spot to catch the game and toss back a few cold ones. The best part, I didn’t get a bottle smashed over my head for cheering on my Clipps. In fact, everybody from the bartenders to the patrons, most of whom were locals and seemed to know eachother, were cool as heck. Houston in general just seems to have nice, down to Earth and very hospitable people. So Cal could learn a thing or seven from H-Town. Tip: If they have crawfish… GET’ EM! I was lucky enough to visit while they were in season and«great googly moogly them thangs is juicy». Nice kick to them and they pair perfectly with cerveza.

One of my favorite bars in midtown. It is reminiscent of a cheers. Everyone is so welcoming and the crawfish are great.

Coaches Pub is the type of bar you go to when you want to grab a few drinks in Midtown without spending a small fortune or having to wear your Sunday’s best. It’s a relaxed bar you go to to watch sports and grab some food with your friends. They seem to be short on servers, so the wait can be lengthy, but it doesn’t take away from the experience. If I’m not mistaken, it’s an official Kansas and Purdue bar, so if either team is playing, expect a crowd. They have great daily specials, so no matter the night you can always expect to save a few dollars.

This is one of the best sports bar to come to in Midtown when you want to catch a sports game– hassle free. Is the food memorable? No. Is their beer or drink menu anything worth noting? No. Is there anything special about this bar, people or theme wise, that stands out. No. So why do I say it’s one of the best sports bar in Midtown? Two things: you can always find a parking spot and there’s always a place to sit. Parking in Midtown/Montrose sucks and though I admit, there are better bars, sometimes I don’t feel like dealing with it. What’s more, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone into a place like the Hay Merchant and have not been able to find a place to sit. It’s annoying, especially when a really good game is on or you’re really hungry. Coaches gives you a decent enough sports bar experience w/friendly service, without very much hassle. They serve typical bar food and your standard selection of drinks. As long as your expectations are in order, I’m pretty sure you’ll leave happy. Overall: Food: C Service: B+ Décor/Experience: C+ Intangibles: A

My previous review was flagged and deleted because I wrote the truth. PROS: Nice bar and great place to watch sporting events or even play buzztime — also has Free WiFi. CONS: Coaches will not provide the courtesy as to inform you there’s an extra $ 1 if you pay via credit card. I will leave out the ‘other issue’ I have with this place, because it will probably get this post deleted. I have other options in walking distance anyway.

We come here a lot for happy hour and they are pretty fun, always music playing and an all around fun time… part of that could just be the alcohol talking. It just down the street from our workplace so it is convenient. There are many other choices for bars and happy hour but something keeps bringing all of us back there for a few.

For a little hole in the wall sports joint, they sure have really good food. The only thing I’ve eaten there that wasn’t good was some sort of pasta thing… Won’t order that again. Service tends to be kind of slow but the servers are nice send knowledgeable. Good specials too! I went with a friend who is a waitress last time and they gave us a discount, I thought it was cool how they take care of their own. I like coming here for games or even a chill night out.

What an atmosphere here last Sunday watching USA vs. Portugal! Wowza! We got lucky & found parking right in their lot, free of charge. Our buddy was their b4 us so he had a table ready. Must say, for a 110% full house they provided really good service, our waitress was on it! They have several TVs every couple of feet, so there is no bad seat to watch the game! We also ordered wings and they were very very good! Overall we had a good time, I’d recommend this place for watching future games & for their good service!
