This place is an amazing restaurant with delicious Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. The rice cake dish with egg and turnips, which I think is A01, is incredible. Perfect savory delight with turnips baked into this incredible eggy pancake. I also tried the seafood phở, and the broth is as it should be, complex and flavorful. While I did not personally care for the fish balls in it, the broth and noodle goodness still made me love this dish. The prices are extremely reasonable and the service is fast and attentive. The $ 1.00 pot of hot tea was also a great surprise. Great place.

Asian comfort food that soothes the soul! My fist time going was around dinner. If your like me and are not familiar with what different dishes are, just wait and watch what everyone else is ordering. You’ll no doubt see something that looks amazing! We ordered the Chinese broccoli beef with rice noodles, the original phở, and the fried pork with shrimp dumpling were divine!

Banh cuon was really good! Only thing I didn’t like was the fried shrimp thing that came with it, way too greasy. But other than that it was worth it. Loved that they put a lot of the veggies Service was pretty nice, guy was attentive and food was fast!

Banh not chien!!! That’s all i can say. Service is decent, it’s been a long time coming, restaurant seems stable and efficient. Food is same as Bellaire pretty much.

This place is right in front of my apartment and is soooo good. The atmosphere is casual. The service is extremely fast. They have a book for a menu. There are so many options and everything I have tried here was amazing. I love this place.

The décor is what you would expect for an Asian restaurant. Tables and the view of the kitchen were clean. The wait staff was knowledgeable and customer focused. Of the three dishes we had, Phở Chicken, Three Flavors Rice and Banh Bo Chien, they all lacked the real punch of fresh ingredients. We even tried a lychee desert but found that to be lacking the«over-the-top» flavor found in the best Asian food restaurants. Perhaps the other dishes offer the elusive flavor-pleasure we were seeking.

Great place for Chinese food, much better quality than any standard take out spot. Great service multiple waiters check on you, food comes very quickly, been many times and haven’t been disappointed. Salt toasted wings, house fried rice and sesame chicken are my favorites.

I do like tan tan. I gave them four and half stars only because they dont deliver. Other than that the food is good.

Opened late and great food! With a large group dinner I got to sample multiple dishes. Group favorite: Whole order of pecking duck and the ratio of buns to meat was off so another order of buns was needed. Overall portions and taste were great! We recommend: any Fried rice, Orange chicken, Beef flat noodle.

So the Bun Bo Hue here is a complete failure… The chicken cashew is average and the seafood combination with ChowFun(flat big white rice noodle) has way too much MSG. Cost 12.99 per dish is a bit pricey In all and all, i think the hot pot here is much much better price, serve, and portion. The services are fast, polite, and customer oriented compared to other Chinese eatery. I might come back if i am too lazy to go to Bellaire; i would not eat here everyday.

I don’t know if it’s because I was recovering from food poisoning or hunger but I approached the restaurant which is around the corner from my house to get something to eat after finally seeing the light at the end of my illness. The waitress was super friendly and when I mentioned I was sick, suggested a chicken noodle soup. I chose the flat noodles. The phở was excellent and plentiful. And to top it off, I had a $ 1 pot of tea. I will be visiting more often.

Ordered the usual items and the foods are not as good. Salt & pepper shrimps were too salty. The cooked white rice that came with the shrimps were dry. The combination hot pot was okay. Eggrolls okay but they don’t have mint. Luckily we got a good server. Refills on iced tea and soda regularly. Most likely will not come back.

How is it possible that I haven’t written a review here? I have been coming to Tan Tan for over a decade. There was wait time of 15 minutes since it was Friday night. But its worth the wait. Today after shopping at Galleria my boyfriend and I wanted Tan Tan. Everytime we come here we order the House special rice cake. The rice cakes were slightly crispy on the outside edges, but smooth and creamy on the inside, and slightly sticky. Topped with an egg. Yum! THISIS A MUST! We ate the Chargrilled Pork & Egg Roll with Vermicelli. I wanted something light. Chargrilled thin sliced pork with fried egg rolls on vermicelli noodle with green onion topping, shredded carrots, daikon radish, peanuts, herbs, cucumber, and lettuce. The egg rolls were crispy and hot. Everything tastes good. This place hasn’t failed me yet.

This place is Chinese & Vietnamese. They offer shabu shabu styled hotpot, Chinese dishes, and Vietnamese dishes. Some of the waiters also speak Vietnamese, which is helpful. The mi xao chay is really good(vegetarian flat noodles simmered in sauce). The prices are on the higher end, not cheap, but the quality of the food is worth it. Interior space is spacious, clean, and decorative.

Good size Phở plus a spring roll for $ 8.65…great deal. I don’t know if I put the right amount of wet ingredients into my bowl or what but the broth was great on epic levels… super to sip on a 40° day. I would like to come back and try some other items… so I will… ya dig?

First time here, definitely won’t be the last! My boyfriend and I were looking for something different besides all the same restaurants we usually go to. As we were driving down Westheimer, I opened up my handy dandy Unilocal app. I saw this place had great reviews and the pictures of the food looked delicious. Let me tell you, every good review and picture was exactly right. Our waiter was so nice and the restaurant itself was clean. Word of advise for new customers, the portions are big enough for 2 people. You’re welcome.

A1 in America means steak sauce. A-1 in my food dictionary means RICECAKE!!! I love it!!! Their rice cake is surrounded by scrambled eggs and pickled cabbage. Their dipping sauce is the perfect side kick to this appetizer. My family came to the one located in Chinatown and ordered 6 rice cake! You bet people were looking at us. Who cares?! They’re so scrumptious! FYI the rice cake is numbered«A-1» on their menu.(10⁄10PERFECT… or even 15⁄10) Cold season means you need a savory broth to keep you warm. Their seafood noodle soup is delicious and you can sub in any noodles(egg noodles or white noodles). If you don’t like seafood, they have other variation of the noodle soup. I like the roasted chicken with fried rice. It’s my «healthy dish». Chicken is crispy on the outside and moist inside. The meat can be bland(in a healthy way lol), so you can just squirt some soy sauce on it.(8⁄10) Another favorite is the shaking beef with fried rice. Beef is tender and coated with oyster sauce. It is cooked medium-well done so you can dip it with the DIY lime plus salt & pepper dressing.(8⁄10) Service is relatively quick and the restaurant is clean!

What keeps me coming back here is the food and service. If you’re feeling hungry and need to get food served to you and a group of others, then this is the place. Get ready to munch on Chinese and Vietnamese food at one of my favorite spots. This restaurant is well known for those around China town and it’s a second location where I feel it’s much safer and cleaner. The food is cooked very good where it will be closest to home cooked meals. I love ordering the fried rice with salty fish, salty toasted squid, fried rice cake with eggs, and much more. I come here with my family and friends pretty often and I haven’t had any issues with the food or service. Everything we order is consistent and by the time we leave we are stuffed and pleased. If you haven’t had a chance, do stop by. I’m going to say you’re missing out on these awesome dishes. They have great family sized and individual dishes. I would really recommend it for you and a group of people to step in a dive into food!

Food here is not as good as the one in Chinatown(not sure if it’s just this location or food just taste better in Chinatown at 2 in the morning). Most Vietnamese restaurants have that one signature dish that you can’t go wrong with and that is HOTPOT for Tan Tan. And that’s all I would recommend at this place. Everything else has been mediocre for me. I had tried several items on their 10 pages menu here and have been disappointed most of the time. I mean, it’s not bad and decently cheap. But when Chinatown is 10 minutes away from this Tan Tan, why would I settle for something edible? The restaurant itself however is cleaner than the one in Chinatown and the young staff are nice and fast with service. So yea, if you really hungry and don’t want to make the drive to Chinatown, try the Hot Pot at this place. Otherwise, keep on driving to Chinatown.
