The Wine Bucket Boutique & Bar

I think this wine bar is at it’s best during the day– it’s beautiful and comfortable, the music is an excellent international mix, and the happy hour isn’t bad. The owner is the only bartender here during the day (at least in my experience) and he is extremely friendly and knowledge about his wines. A great place for an early afternoon meeting or date. If the weather is nice the outdoor seating is a real treat.

This place is just ok. They have a decent selection of red wines, but you do have to know what you want to order.
The bartenders really aren’t very knowledgable about the wines.
By far, the best part is the bus boys. My water glass was never empty.

Not what I expected or really wanted out of this wine bar experience. I had been here before years ago and thought it to be okay. This time around they can’t even keep that label. When you ask the bartender if they have a Rosé, and they have to look on the menu to check, thats a bad sign. The service was actually pretty good, at least the staff were very nice. But the music was not so good. They were playing a bunch of hip hop and crap ass dance music. Not exactly loungy chill out stuff that you would expect to hear at a wine bar. The waitress mentioned that they do a monthly party like that, so I’ll have to take note not to come back on this day of the month.
Oh yeah and the Rosé I did end up having was not very good, so they lose a star for picking bad wine.

quiet and lush atmosphere and affordable wine by the glass — none of that $ 20 – 25 a glass wine that cova, max’s and so many others around the city seem to think is reasonable! Lovely indoor and outdoor seating. A new favourite!

i wasn’t that much impressed. i don’t remember anything notable on the wine list, but it was kind of pricey from what i could remember. it didn’t seem that busy yet, we had a hard time finding a place to sit. to their credit, the staff was very accommodating and created a small table for us. haven’t been there in years so maybe they’ve expanded a bit. it was OK, but i’d rather go somewhere else.
