Have been here a couple of times and decided to write a review because it’s worth it! If you are a meat lover this place is a must. We always have the House cured slab bacon, Tomahawk rib steak and 3 filets! All mouthwatering. My dog still working on the Tomahawk’s bone it’s so good ;) Next time will try to save some room for dessert since they look devilishly good!

I came here for my birthday, the food was tremendous. The bread was out of control. It was fluffy, soft, buttery, and had the right amount of herbs. My Cuba Libre was perfectly made, tasted well balanced, and had the right ice and presentation. The scallop appetizer with pumpkin seeds(pepitas) was full of flavor. But the point of coming here is the steak right? I loved the bone in filet mignon special I had that night. Great portion, slightly mid-rare, but pretty spot on with the temperature. It didn’t need any sauces, though the table side steak sauce was very tasty. The table side steak sauce wasn’t that amazing though. It tasted like fresh ketchup with herbs and garlic. A tad too sweet, even though we had the server add more garlic. It wasn’t exactly life changing, and I enjoyed pairing some horseradish with the steak over the sauce. Service was okay. We sat outside, and everyone was friendly and was educated with regards to the menu. I must say, our server was kind of absent for the most part, whereas the(junior?) server who made the sauce table side, actually checked on us more often, and was friendlier. It was a little bit of a let down, because usually going out to a steak house, we end up hearing some anecdote from the waiter, or they check on us more than we expect them to, but that just makes us feel comfortable, like we aren’t bothering them when we ask for something. I guess that’s the New York attitude trickling over. The music throughout the night was pretty great. A very eclectic playlist with old, modern, and down tempo/chill electronic tunes. It all flowed despite how varied the music was. Dessert was exceptional. The chocolate cake was my birthday cake, BUT the Burnt Marshmallow Ice cream was incredible. It seems simple, and it probably is, but it’s like a smore in every bite, with ice cream. It was probably the closest to dessert perfection there is. The chocolate got wrapped up REAL quick, because the burnt marshmallow ice cream was dancing a sugary dance on my tongue. I would definitely return, maybe try dining inside to see how much more attentive the wait staff could have been. Overall, a close to perfect meal, just wish our server(Fred) was a little more enthusiastic.

This place really blew me out of the water. The service was exceptional! We had a large party of 10 so we were a lot to handle, although, they made it seem effortless. The bread was so good but don’t ruin your appetite by filling up on yummy bread! They also bring out salted watermelon which was wonderful and hydrating. We ordered the 12 oz filet mignon and the crusted branzino. You really can’t go wrong with either of these, they were absolutely delicious! We also got a side of gnocchi and it was perfection. I can’t wait to come back!

Came here after celebrating my wedding weekend here in Miami, because my wife really wanted a steak after the big day. I’m not a big meat eater so I opted for the pecan crusted fish with smoked cream cheese and pickled onions and it was amazing and so flavorful. My wife’s steak was cooked to perfection. The blue point oysters were the best we’ve ever had, and they came with a delicious variety of sauces. We also got the kale salad and it was SOGOOD. The service was insanely awesome and everyone was super nice. They also gave us complimentary champagne and marshmallow ice cream as a congratulations. Definitely worth every penny.

The food here is AMAZING! We represented a fairly large group and required two tables. Some in our party weren’t entirely happy with the service, but I thought it was very, very good. I tend to be quite understanding in these matters. This is not for those seeking a low calorie dining experience, but you will not be disappointed in the presentation or the taste. From the appetizers, the entrée, to desert EVERYTHING was fantastic. Did I mention that the food was AMAZING?! Highly recommend the rum and cola on tap.

My brother and husband(probably) gained 10 pounds after we were finished dining at Quality Meats. Those two«macho men» ordered a whole lot of red meat and shared it to the last bite. On top of that, they had huge chunks of MY chocolate cake(which was a 5 inch circular cake). Me, on the other hand, I struggled with my filet mignon entrée and came to the understanding, I am simply not a red meat person, although it was good. I give 4 stars because our waiter was amazing and my brother/husband loved their meat dishes so so so much. Suggestion: Wear loose clothing while dining at Quality Meats ;)

Quality Meats is my new favorite steakhouse. The expansive restaurants takes up two floors of a beautiful restored two-story Art Deco masterpiece. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and our waiter brought freshly baked bread. I had the scallops as my appetizer: they were perfectly seasoned and tender. Filet Mignon was perhaps the best one I have had in Miami: cooked to perfection on the first try. The mac and cheese was also a standout. Our server was very attentive, and I enjoyed seeing him prepare the steak sauce table-side on a cart which, by the way, is incredible. The regular menu portion sizes are extremely large and the price will reflect just that. I recommend sharing or you will end up with a lot of leftovers. Their wine list is extensive and prices range from affordable to upscale. QM offers valet parking for $ 20 and also self-parking for $ 10 in their underground lot making it very accessible. This NYC import is a great addition to Miami’s cuisine. I can’t wait to come back.

You know I really wanted to like this place but for the price, the quality of the meats really doesn’t pan out. It’s not necessarily that anything is bad … Well, the server did ask«and what side would you like with that steak» without specifying that sides don’t come with the order of steak but other than that, everything was fine. But just fine. Nothing spectacular. Service was fine. We had a birthday surprise and they set the table for dessert even though we didn’t order dessert so the birthday boy knew. Worse, the guy who came over asked who the birthday boy was. If we actually cared about surprising, that would not have met my expectations but we’re not that high strung about these things. In the end, the salad was pretty good but the steaks were just fine. I’ve had better at national chains and also at mom and pop’s restaurants in other big cities for the same price. The sauce is nothing to rave about. It certainly helps flavor the meat but a really amazing steak doesn’t need sauce whereas this sauce was needed.

Really excited to try after coworkers had recommended NY location. Food Food was excellent. Not very often do you find a bone in Sirloin, and it did not disappoint. Asked for medium rare, got medium rare. Still amazes me how many high class steak restaurants fail at that. Sides were good although portion was a little disappointing. They said they were sharing portion but I would say the average person could take down one or two. No dessert as most had ice cream and I keep it kosher. Drinks Wine list was well diversified, both in style and appellation. Service Service was excellent. Our waiter did well with recommendations where we were unsure of the menu. Multiple staff kept a nice meal pace. Ambiance What you would expect from an upscale South Beach locale. A little loud for my taste, but then again I don’t think anyone was trying to close business deals.

Quality Meats LOCATION Inside the Bancroft hotel, in Miami Beach. The location is near the Easpanola Way, a good area to grab an after dinner drink. AMBIANCE It’s a sober steakhouse, classy, not off of the chart, but with an elegant still traditional look. SERVICE We had very good service, in spite of being there during a busy night. We were immediately received by the hostess, she told us it would be a brief wait and directed us to the bar, where we had a cocktail. The bartender there is very knowledgeable and knows what he’s doing. I had a Manhattan with Knob Creek Rye(this whisky was suggested by the barman), while my wife had a grapefruit and vodka signature cocktail, which was good and somewhat creamy. Pretty good as I said, but I preferred my dry and strong Manhattan. Prices aren’t cheap, but this is an upscale steakhouse inside a boutique hotel in Miami Beach. So, after all, not bad. FOOD We tried Quality Meats during the Miami Spice month; it was one of the few restaurants offering steak during Miami Spice, so it was made part of our three-day selection. Seared scallops: very good, tasty. Jalapeño Jelly peanut butter bacon: that was my wife’s appetizer. She loved it. To me it was so, so, but don’t consider my opinion here: I am not a fan of jelly or peanut butter. The filet mignon was a very tender and flavorful piece of meat, probably the best I had in South Florida; I made a little mistake by ordering medium. My wife’s medium-rare was even better. Great meat though, worth every penny. As sides, I had the creamed spinach and my wife the corn Brule. I saw that the corn brulee’ has plenty of great reviews and in fact my wife loved it. To me it was a little too sweet, but I can tell it was very well done. I enjoyed better the creamed spinach instead. VALUE Well, we came here during Miami Spice month, so it was definitely a good choice and great value, the quality was really good and so was the service. It might be expensive in a regular day(depends on what you compare it), but keep this name in your to do-list for next Miami Spice. Final comment A great pick for Miami Spice and honestly, even the regular price for a steak, while not something I would afford on a regular basis, it’s not crazy at all, especially as the quality is very good. Mind you that when I say«not crazy, it might be relative: I live in Palm Beach County, so a lot of places in Miami for us are pretty good when it comes to value(cost/quality ratio). I’ll be back(yes, pronounced Schwarzenegger’s style).

Most everything was exceptional except the desserts. Orders the infamous bacon slab that was amazing, tomato burrata salad creamy and perfectly seasoned. Tomahawk steak with double chop, ordered rare and carved table side truly up there with Peter Lugar. Custom table side steak sauce stellar. For sides we ordered the melt in your mouth corn brûlée and Quality potato both are unique and delicious. Lacking in flavor were the desserts all sounded and looked better than they tasted. Grasshopper ice cream pie, pineapple upside cake & the burnt marshmallow ice cream. All good not great. Great service with Jonathan!

The staff and management provided such a perfect last dinner for my wife and I here in Miami. We got there about 30 mins early and had a drink at the bar. Great cocktail menu, more importantly outer bartender Dan was super fun to chat with as we ran through a few cocktails. Made a great bourbon smash and a version of a Manhattan. After a few laughs, we sat to eat. Just get it. You know you want it. Bacon with peanut butter and jelly — it was exactly what you want it to be. We split the grilled Bavette which was perfect and an order of the onion rings(huge) and the trumpet mushrooms. Everything was perfect. What really set this apart though, was after a simple note saying it was last night of our honeymoon, they made it so special. First brought over champagne and then an amazing dessert with«congrats» in chocolate. Manager stopped by as well. Such a great place, but even better people. If you drink whiskey cocktails — go see Dan in the bar. Will be back.

Great food and drinks! Pricey but it is in SoBe so maybe it’s normal. Defiantly a special occasion kind of place We had a great steak with bbq made table side. Have a porterhouse for two, which easily feeds six. Crab avocado appetizer was amazing. The skinny: I would go back

This place is very nice looking. The service was not the best. We planned on going for Miami Spice but didn’t make a reservation. It was a Thursday but once we arrived they advised of an hour’s wait. It turned out to be more like 20 – 30 minutes but we hung out by the bar in the meantime and had a 3-meat charcuterie appetizer(sopressata, jai alai sausage, duck bacon). We ordered the dry aged meatball appetizer, which wasn’t my favorite. The scallops were perfect and the kale salad w chorizo dressing was also a hit. The filet mignon entrée was cooked perfectly medium rare as I requested, so I was pleased, but note that sides are only offered at an additional cost. For desserts we got the Cookie Monster ice cream, the coconut dream, and the donuts w coffee flavors. Overall the food was above average and the outing was almost perfect w the exception of our waiter which was relatively moody. He was rude in answering basic questions about menu items and became confused w simple things like us order things before deciding on a wine. Look, I’m not one to complain about this kind of thing and I do recommend trying this place out, but if at all possible try to avoid the one guy that looks like Sammie Davis Jr.

Miami-ans do Miami Spice for all types of reasons. Some are looking to try those high end restaurants that they can’t always afford. Others just want to get a great bang for their 39 bucks, with an appetizer, main course and dessert. Whatever your goal, there’s a Miami Spice restaurant out there for you. And from all the places that I’ve been to so far, there’s one big winner in my book: Quality Meats. This New York transplant made it into Miami Beach earlier this year and immediately became a local’s favorite thanks to its simply prepared but top quality meats, so it’s no surprise that their Spice menu is one of the best in town. In classic Quality Meats fashion, the meal started with their bread course. Lacquered with butter and sprinkled with rosemary and sea salt, the piping-hot and incredibly soft monkey bread was one of the best bread dishes I’ve experienced at a restaurant! Up next came the«Lazy Susan», a charcuterie platter that is not included in the Spice menu, but that is well worth considering as an «add on» thanks to its great selection of homemade cold cuts, cheese, and mini sausages. Warning — if you are opting for this one, make sure to either be a) very hungry or b) with a large group of friends, as the platter is ginormous and the Spice dishes are quite abundant. Unless you want to take some home for a midnight snack, always a good idea in my book… Let’s talk about the appetizers… shall we? A salad is not exactly what you would think of ordering when you are at a restaurant like Quality Meats and there’s other strong appetizer contenders like the house-cured bacon, or the seared scallops. But if you want to go for something a bit lighter, without sacrificing on flavor, the Kale & Manchego salad is just for you. Despite my table being covered in dishes, I simply could not let go of this sweet and savory mountain of greens. Did I mention it has pieces of bacon in it, and its drizzled with lots and lots of honey? Hmmm, my mouth waters just thinking about it. Just when I thought that things couldn’t get any better, the duo of Seared Diver Scallops arrived in all their juicy and plump glory, served with a velvety black-garlic purée and aromatic celery leaves. The beautiful bivalves were crispy on the outside, and tender and succulent on the inside, just as they should be. If you want something hearty, unique and meat centric, the House-Cured Slab Bacon is perfect for you. The most special(and famous!) of all the appetizers, this thick and tasty bacon is served with crunchy peanut butter and topped with an exquisite jalapeño jelly. Last but not least came the Dry Aged Meatballs, which had a very intense and distinct flavor unlike any other meatball I’ve ever had in my life. Highly recommended if you are feeling adventurous and want to go for something different! And then came the Main Courses… The Center Cut Filet Mignon was one of the stars of the night. It was cooked to perfection and served with a homemade sauce that is prepared table side with different herbs. My second favorite entrée was the Roasted Chicken & Kumquats, and yes, I know what you are thinking: Chicken?! Really? Yes, really. The combination of the tender and juicy chicken with the sweetness of the fruit was exquisite, and surprisingly, even better than some of the other entrees on the menu. The New York Bagel inspired Brazino was an interesting option, with its crisp coat of sesame and poppy seeds, and accompaniments of smoked cream cheese and pickled onions. Not as good as the ones mentioned above, but definitively innovative and creative. If you have a sweet tooth and you find yourself having dinner at Quality Meats during Miami Spice, you are in for a treat! Cookie Monster, Coconut Dream Bar and Burnt Marshmallow are just some of the six mouthwatering ice cream sundaes that you can choose from. My faves? The fruity ones(Raspberry Frozen Yogurt & the Orange Creamsicle Sherbet), which acted a refreshing«digestif» after our massive dinner(or that’s what I like to believe, anyway!). Our experience at Quality Meats was one for the books. The portions were generous, the food quality was top notch and the service couldn’t have been more attentive. The only problem I encountered was finding a «must have» dish from each course, as there were so many outstanding and unique ones, especially among the appetizers. Some last words of advice: if you find yourself experiencing some FOMO as you make your dish selections, remember that you can still come back for another month and a half and do it all over again!

Came here for Miami Spice with a few friends. When I got there, I waited at the bar for the rest of my group to come. I ordered the Quality mule which is their version of the Moscow mule. It came in a copper mug(of course!) and garnished with a candied ginger and rosemary. The ambiance of Quality Meats was upscale restaurant, however their restroom was very different. I can only account for the women’s restroom which had flamingo wallpaper. It kinda looked tacky compared to the rest of the restaurant. It did have a towel wall instead of using paper towels though. Once my group all came, we went upstairs to get seated. The manager promptly greeted us and we got our Miami Spice menus dinners being $ 39 for appetizer, entrée and dessert. I ordered the scallops, red local snapper and a cookie monster dessert. I also ordered a wine to pair with my fish. I asked the manager for a good sweet white wine and he recommended a Riesling. Appetizer: 2 scallops came out with 2 croutons and celery leaves. Underneath was a black garlic sauce mayo sauce with animal fat(warning all pescartians!). The scallops were cooked perfectly and the crunchiness with the croutons paired perfectly. Entrée: The snapper pan roasted with herbs with a bed of salad underneath. I also had this tomato/olive mixture on the side. It was a little plain for my taste and I wanted more flavoring. Dessert: The cookie monster came with 2 cookies as well. For some reason, I thought it was going to be cookies and cream. It was more like chocolate chip cookie. It was a great dessert to end with, however the cookies were a bit hard. The only reason why I give quality meats 4 stars instead of 5 is because all my friends ordered filet minions. Two ordered medium-well done and another one ordered medium rare. The server who brought out the steaks did not know which one belong to who so my friends started to eat the meat and already knew they got the wrong one. They had to switch. This also happened to our dessert but we were able to tell them it was wrong since my friend ordered the burnt marshmallow and I ordered the cookie monster. We did not switch seats at all as well. This was however a very enjoyable dinner and a great Miami Spice menu!!!

It was a bit of a joke a few years ago that every new restaurant in Miami was a steak house(prime 112, BLT, Steak 954, Gotham Steak, stripsteak), and while Quality Meats is a little late to the party, it will certainly be warmly received by NY tourists and expats. On a couple of items, QM falls a little short of the competition(house bread is beautiful, but could either benefit from some truffle or garlic flavoring, or flavored butter on the side; the ice cream desserts I posted would benefit from softer cake layers — these tasted a little spongy). But with a little careful ordering, you could have a very memorable meal here. But an expensive one. I’m not a charcuterie fan, but the offerings here are above par. Order the 3 meats, and of course include foie as one of them. The mains are great. Fish would be very good on its own, but when tasted alongside the meats it is quickly eclipsed. The suckling pig is a crispy, delicious option. The steak bavette is the least expensive, but very flavorful(skirt steak). I’d love to return for some of the more expensive cuts. And when I do, corn brûlée will accompany it — oh yes. For dessert I’d much prefer something like the sticky toffee pudding or something richer than the light ice cream cakes. Another visit could garner a 5th star with some more selective ordering on my end. Solid SoBe option. Tips: 1. use city parking — there was a lot at(I think) the south side of 16th near Washington I’d never seen before and looked new. 2. On your walk over, Stop in for a cocktail at the bar at nearby Dolce for $ 8 from 4 – 8(7 days), about half the hefty $ 16 tag at QM.(As of June 2015)

4.5 I. LOVE. QUALITY. MEATS. It wasn’t love at first sight. I didn’t like the name at first. I felt it was worthy of, say, a butcher shop. Turns out, I was right. I later learned the New York City, family‑owned butcher shops of father‑son owners Alan and Michael Stillman inspired the Quality Meats flagship. I hesitated to try yet another new and«promising» South Beach restaurant. #Eyeroll. But off I went, and I’m happy I gave the restaurant a try. Quality Meats offers valet parking on the 15th and Collins Avenue. Just a short stroll away, you can find garage parking on 12th, 13th, and 16th. Walking into what used to be the Bancroft hotel lobby, I noticed chaos right away. The staff rushed from one side to the other dodging trays, chairs, and diners. Tables were placed uncomfortably close to one another and the sound level had only one setting, LOUD. Everything felt rushed. Service began the second we sat down. Water, menus, and bread were all brought out at once. I had not been able to take a good look around me or even catch my breath yet. Once we spoke to the waiter, explained we were not in a rush, and wanted to course everything out, we eased into the rest of the night. The complimentary bread is baked in-house and served on a cast-iron pan. I must really love my(late arriving) friends. I did not dig in until they got there, even though the smell was driving me insane! As usual, we ordered too much food. TOSTART: I enjoyed the Watermelon amuse bouche: a refreshing first bite, perfect for too-hot-to-handle Miami. Although I rarely order salads when dining out, the Kale and Manchego Salad(with a chorizo vinaigrette and honey topping) has made me rethink that decision. This will be a must-order for my next visit. The Crab and Avocado was a nice starter, but nowhere near as impressive as the House Cured Slab Bacon. Topped with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly, this dish made my knees weak. I confess, I wanted to hate it. It’s messily plated enough to bring out my OCD, but I didn’t. THIS. WAS. INCREDIBLE. THEMAINEVENT: The Tomahawk Rib Steak(24oz) at Quality Meats is smaller than those offered at other local restaurants. Maybe it’s just because I like having one of these all to myself(only-child syndrome, I don’t like sharing), but I prefer this size. I also sampled(and loved) the Aged Bone-In Sirloin and the Filet Mignon. I savored every bite of the Honey-Lime Baby Back Ribs, but I barely finished them. By then, I had sampled way too much food. Thankfully, my friends finished them for me. That’s what friends are for. Right? Perhaps I do know how to share after all! THESIDES: How do I put this eloquently? The Corn Crème Brûlée kicked ass! It’s exactly what it sounds like, simply crème brûléed corn. But it’s everything. And then some. We ordered a second for the table despite all of us being«oh so full.» Then, the Gnocchi happened. What was I to do? I couldn’t stop eating. Thankfully, I was able to resist the simple Grilled Jumbo Asparagus. They were jumbo. They were grilled. Nothing more, nothing less. I finally waved my white napkin in embarrassment defeat. THESWEETS: I have a sweet tooth. It’s been established. I know it and you probably know it by now too. We also know there’s always room for dessert. It’s true. Despite all my whining about being too full, the whimsical vortex Quality Meats calls«dessert» happened. We could have been happy with just the dainty Warm Apple Pie, but we ordered more. Why be normal? The Nutter Butter Ice Cream Cake(banana ice cream and nutter butter cookies sandwiched between layers of peanut butter cake, topped with vanilla fluff icing) was next and quite the showstopper. Other favorites were the Coffee & Doughnuts(chocolate doughnuts swirled into creamy coffee flavored ice cream) and the Orange Creamsicle Sherbet(fresh squeezed oj & vanilla cream frozen together, like a push pop!). SERVICE: Our professional, attentive, and knowledgeable waiter spaced out our courses perfectly. He promised he would have everything under control. Success! He delivered. Ultimately, the food captivated me and I stopped noticing the hodgepodge of things going on around me. So what if the space felt a little crowded and the staff rushed through? MEMORABLE is one important quality I now expect when dining out. «Good» only takes restaurants so far. I will always choose to return to «great.» Overall, Quality Meats is a keeper. The restaurant describes itself as «old‑world perspective with a distinctly modern approach» and they have nailed it. This is the restaurant’s first venture outside of New York City, and a big win South Florida.
