Where can I get Maalox or Mylanta?! Not here. Per doctor’s orders, I had to get a prescription and also one of these guys. I had to get the DR generic brand, which probably saved me money, but not a trip to a SECOND DR in the area. There also doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the way these stores are organized, as antacids were placed just under the pharmacy counter here where stay-at-home UWS dads are pushing strollers and carrying coffee and fussing over every niggling detail of their lives. Endearing. Jealous.

I went to pick up my birth control related-prescription and was told their registers were down, so I couldn’t have it. After I explained that I couldn’t just skip a day, they gave me exactly one pill (the girl literally placed a pill in my hand, not even in a bottle or anything) and told me to «come back tomorrow when the registers are back up to pick up the rest.»
Not sure this is even legal, but it’s definitely terrible business practice.

The pharmacy is the worst. The wait times are outrageous even when they are far less busy than other locations who get the prescriptions filled in half the time. (It’s currently been an hour and twenty minutes when quoted an already absurd 45 minutes) While some of the staff is pleasant enough they could generally care less and I would hate to have to be consulted on any new medication by those I have frequently encountered. This is the fourth and last time I’ll use this location. (and for the second time they could not refill my full prescription)

It’s 24 hours, so already it’s off to a good start. I like their selection of groceries and personal items, as well as their pharmacy. It’s reliable, and as good as a Duane Reade can get basically. Does it rock my world? Not neccesarily, but I never leave unsatisfied.

I’ve used the pharmacy at this location several times and they have been very nice and efficient. Very good experience. The store is a newer one and I’ve always found it to be clean and pleasant, not too crowded.

Ever since Duane Reade was bought out by Walgreens their prices have SHOT UP. Candy bars immediately doubled along with just about everything else. A very bad move, Duane Reade used to have decent pricing and service.
