Another Oak Park restaurant closed. I was a fan of their fish tacos, too bad. Their rebranding must not have been successful. If you are looking for good Mexican head south on Oak Park avenue to Berwyn, Los Corrales is great!

Before my husband and I went out to Fuego Loco for lunch, I went online to read about this restaurant on their website. When I was reading I was imagining a place with unique décor, lots of color and warmth. I was disappointed when we arrived; no uniqueness, no color(black, white and red) and no warmth. We decided to stay because I had an appetite for a taco. We sat by the bar and ordered steak tacos and red wine. The food was really disappointing; the meat was hard with tendons, oily and tasteless. The service was not good either; we haven’t been asked once how everything was or if we needed anything else. If I have been asked, I would have given them my opinion. Advice: Please show your customer you care. Also, give the place a bit more character — your website’s description of it gives an entirely different image. Finally, do make some changes to the tacos — give them more flavor and make them less oily.

Bottomless Mimosa Alert!!! For $ 9, you get your choice of peach, mango, strawberry, guava or OJ Mimosas. The food choices are limited: pancakes, French toast, a few Mexican entrees but the lunch menu is available ANDTHEMIMOSASHAVENOBOTTOMFORNINEAMERICANDOLLARS! There’s sports on the TVs at the bar(sound on), bachata, reggaeton, and pop music playing and the food is pretty decent. Plus, you can give your server $ 9 and her or she will bring you as many mimosas as you want. I’m not sure if the Oak Park moms know about the bottomless nature of the mimosas, because the place is kinda empty. Luckily, I know and I’m kind enough to share what I know with you people.

I regular the bar here at least once a week. Laura and Pauly are my server/bartenders always friendly and great atmosphere to meet after work. Wednesdays are my favorite night for the amazing wings and sangria(best in chicago area). Try the margarita sampler for amazing flavors and colors with the barbocoa tacos. Finish it off with the fried ice cream yum

A close friend is pescatarian. So when I read the reviews and heard a few folks rave about the fish and salmon tacos, I convinced her to sample them with me during our girl’s day out last weekend. We ordered two of the specialty entrees(salmon tacos and grilled fish). Both entrees were two tacos, served with rice and black beans so sharing was pretty easy. Salmon Tacos — 2 stars Grilled Fish Tacos — 4 stars Margarita flight — 5 stars(liked them all) Queso cheese dip — 4 stars Chips & Salsa– 3 stars Service — 3.5 stars

We ate here last night on a double date. The chips and salsa are very good, and the wait staff was on top of it! The weather was nice enough to enjoy the outdoor seating; I’d recommend this option if available. I got the cheese quesadillas as my entrée, and they were delicious. They’re a little bit on the greasy side, but the meal was more than filling. Everyone else in the group was stuffed by the end of the meal, and they were all satisfied. I’d return for lunch or dinner, especially if we could sit outside again!

My spot every Thursday. Hot food, great margaritas. The only reason why I am giving it a four is after many times of us coming they only come back to our table once to check and see if everything’s ok after we order and get food. Otherwise it’s great food and drink wise

Not the same any more since the new management took over. My wife and kids just waited 40 minutes for a table, while here were 3 open tables. My son is injured and on crutches, and they claimed that they could sit them because it would be a fire hazard. So I argued with the manager and ended up just leaving and going somewhere else. Last time we were there for the $ 5, no wait now it’s $ 6 margarita Thursday night, I found a spider in my margarita. The waiter brought me a new one, but didn’t offer to comp anything or even acknowledge it. Prices have risen and nothing’s changed. The food is still pretty good but we won’t be back, there are plenty of other places to eat in the area.

We came here for lunch one day with a kid in tow. It’s a bit further east on Lake than I realized, so if like me you often park near Harlem be advised you’re in for a walk. It’s very similar to Salseria(formerly Fuego Loco) in Elmhurst, but does not have the same(super-greasy) chips or the salsa bar. You do get a nice sampler of salsa with your(less greasy) chips, though. I had the always-delicious Little Village tacos; my husband had a burrito and the kiddo went with nachos and basically just ate the chips.(Kids.) The food was tasty, hot and fresh. The service was good, the food was tasty, if you are looking for solid sit-down Mexican food in downtown Oak Park, I recommend it.

Went here for a super quick drink since we were early on waiting for a group in a different place. OMGOODNESS! don’t know why this place wasn’t chosen as the hangout. Ordered palomas, received a bucket of yummy crunchy chips with a sampling of salsa(unexpected) AND then a sampling of the colorful frozen margs(definitely unexpected). I was skeptical at first, but it satisfied my curiosity. I called it an adult I-CEE and left happy! Great place definitely going back!

I really enjoy this restaurant. They always have a quick delivery no matter the size of the order. I recommend the cheese dip appetizer, great flavors blend together for a spicy queso!

First time for our friend, my husband and I @ Fuego Loco. Our server Edna was helpful. We had the $ 6 margarita specials, they were good. But, What really stood out to me was the Carne Asada and the salsa(mild, medium, hot) with the chips. I highly recommend the Carne Asada it was so soft that it felt like it was melting in your mouth! Will definetly be back for that again. Loved the décor.

The only thing I enjoyed was the chips and salsa. The staff were too busy cleaning up rather than helping the guest. My food was very bland and tasteless. I ordered a drink hoping for better a peach mango sangria and it wasn’t even pleasing to the eye so you can guess what my taste buds were saying. I could have gotten a bigger kick from an Hi-C than this drink. Overall I was very disappointed. I won’t be returning save your money people and go else where.

Walking into this Oak Park eatery as the sizzling smells and sounds of a Mexican fiesta invite you right in. I visited today, a Monday night where children eat free. This cute establishment with its red, black and white walls and comfortable red and black chairs is a nice spot to stop in for a quick bite, an after work drink or because you happen to be in the neighborhood. The lights also dim around 6:45 giving it a more intimate feel. El Olympico served us but the staff is super friendly and more than one staff member stopped by our table to ensure we had everything we needed. A full service bar complete with a few flat screens to make sure you don’t miss your favorite game just may become your favorite spot.

Food– The chips and salsa were very good. The array of peppers infused in the salsa really made the flavors strong. It’s hard not to get full on chips and salsa. But I still enjoyed a nice sized steak burrito. It consisted of steak, cheese, pico de gallo, lettuce, and beans. Twas’ a great tasting burrito. Service– good service, highly quick and efficient

it has taken me a while to write this review, which says something about the experience. it was good! but, it is nothing to go out of your way for. if your in high school this could be an ok date spot. if you like spicy food and hot salsas, definitely try this place. their michelada’s are good and its cool that you can pick your own beer. the seafood entrée was a bit overpriced. yeah. its pretty good, not greatm i will be back if its convenient.

The first thing brought out are tortilla chips tough enough to dip and three flavors of salsa. I knew then I was in the right place. After that, I tried two different kinds of fish tacos. Why fish? Because if a place can pull off decent fish tacos in the midwest, they’ll do fine with anything else. The appetizer fish tacos were good, with plenty to eat as a meal. The Baja fish tacos were really good — with the difference in the extras that come with it. They offered to fry or grill the fish. That was great, I had grilled. Then, the dish arrived with an excellent sesame oil Chile de árbol sauce — nice and hot! I was honestly surprised it wasn’t a different Chile, as it was quite spicy. Yum! Then, for dessert, the passion fruit mojito and some plain vanilla ice cream topped it all off — Olé! Well done, Oak Park, well done.

I met a friend here for dinner, and to take the place up on its $ 5 margarita special. I read it can get packed and have a long wait, but when I got there at 6:15 there were plenty of open tables, and I was sat promptly. They gave a generous bucket of chips with 3 salsas. All salsas were good, and ranged from mild, medium, to hot. The hot(green) salsa wasn’t too scary, but definitely packed a punch– some bites were way spicier than others! When it came to the margs, they have TONS of flavors. I was intrigued when they mentioned blueberry as a flavor, so I went for that. I was expecting something with a rich navy blue color… what I got had the taste and color of a melted blue icee/slurpee/freezer pop with tequila in it. It was suuuuuuuuuper sweet. I took it in little sips at a time, but definitely could only handle one. Other flavors looked a little bit more«official» as far as margaritas go! For food, I kept it simple and got a steak quesdilla. There was a good amount of steak in it, but I prefer more chunks than shredded meat. The flavor was hard to distinguish between that and the cheese, too. The food was ok, not fantastic, but the company was great, so if someone asked me to meet up there again, I would, but I wouldn’t suggest it on my own. Place was nicely decorated in red and black, service was super awesome– never got past half a glass of water before it was refilled.
