Good hand made pizza. I gave it 4 stars for the price. 1 large 2 topping pizza with 2 cokes was $ 20. The restaurant also serves sandwiches(subs) that looked and smell amazing! I’ll definitely be back to order more pizza and a sandwich. I’m in!

OMG! This place is so good. We ordered the Pietro’s hoagie and gobbled it down in probably less than 5 minutes! It was so perfectly yummy! I have to have a parent teacher conference with my daughter’s teacher nearby later today which makes me excited because I could come in and get a hot salami sandwich then! Service was perfect! I ordered a sandwich from someone who graciously took my order! Perhaps the reviewers who think there’s bad service have some insane idea and expectation of how they«deserve» to be served. My two cents on the issue is that I am happy that there is a place that I can get an authentic Italian sub or pizza in Altadena. It is a privilege I GET to enjoy, I am the one who is grateful for the service they are providing! Oops, I forgot to take a picture of my beautiful family because I ate it too fast! Thank you Pietro’s!

This pizzeria is everything!!! Fuhgeddaboud’ the other stuff on the menu(it’s good too, but this is all aboud’ the pizza) Soooo… Fuhgeddaboud’ the mafioso, tough«I gotta’ pocket full of fcuks & I’m not giving out a one!» attitudes or the«NO soup for you!» customer service… Buck up! It’s pizza… know what you want… order ahead and keep it moving… Fuhgeddaboud’ that it looks like a bodega or a «sit down» is about to take place amongst the«families» at any moment… Questo è il posto migliore in città!!! **Google translation \m/(*J*) \m/ Some pizza spots can have ALL of the cannolis… old country secrets… the Cosa Nostra running security… and a cute lil’ olé lady chained by the ankle in a kitchen singing«Funiculi, Funicula» with Joe DiMaggio & Sly Stallone’s family running the joint… and it still won’t taste as good as Pietro’s!!! Been going here since the 80“s, when some of you still had baby teeth… lol… so you can finally stop searching through pages of Unilocal reviews for the best pizza in Pasadena… and Yes… you can Thank me later :-)

The pizza is really good here. The problem is that you never know how long it’s going to take for them to make it. They always say 20 – 25 minutes and then when you come to pick it up thy haven’t even started it yet. Expect at least 45 minutes for a pizza to be made. The guys are working hard but probably need more workers to handle the volume of clients they get.

I love the antipasto salad, I’ve ordered the chicken parmigiana with pasta and it’s a hit or miss depending on who’s cooking it. I guess they just hired new workers so they seem to not know how to cook very well. so I don’t order the chicken parmigiana anymore, I will just stick to the salad from now on until they get stable people that know how to cook.

Had the hot hoagie and I was impressed. Not the best I’ve ever had, but up there. The pizza is average. Service and cleanliness could be improved. I’ll stick to the sandwiches in the future.

Not good. The eggplant parmesan tasted like… nothing. I literally couldn’t tell what it was in it — fish? meat? mushroom? eggplant? I tried looking, but it looked like it tasted — like some mush that was fried in some stinky oil and then left to sit in the kitchen for a day or two. The sauce was standard, and the bread tasted stale. Just terrible. They do have cannoli, but the shell was soggy like it was filled last week. Not a chance I’m going back.

I can’t believe this place only has 3 stars. I always order the Pietros hoagie, basically an Italian sub. A lot of low reviews on here are about rude employees. Customer service is important to me too, but I would take a punch in the face for one of these hoagies. I daydream about these hoagies. Sometimes I buy 2 large ones at once so that I can eat it again the next day. The pictures of these hoagies on here is driving me insane. I’m going to get one right now!

I have eaten here for lunch once(they have good specials and a decenyt sub sandwhich)…and I have ordered a pizza to go once. Both times it was good. Order your pizza well-done if you like you thin crust crispy. And Pietro’s is right next door to Roma’s Italian Market — from which Pietro’s gets many of their ingredients. More review to come after another try.

Very rude. They all seemed very annoyed to have us there. We asked for a side of the sauce they make their hot wings with for the chicken strips(that tasted like cardboard) & the clerk just rudely pointed to a bottle of Tapatio sitting on the other counter. We got there at 8:05 pm. We were all in a good mood, quite, polite & stayed to ourselves in an empty restaurant, in the corner, out of sight. Our food came out a little after 8:30. While finishing or meal, 5 minutes after 9:00(they close at 9:00) they came & locked the door we were sitting next to and told us «we are closed» then turned off some of the lights. When we went to go wash our hands after pretty much being told to stop eating, we go to a blocked off bathroom with a «bathroom closed» sign. We got several eye rolls at us though out the visit like when we asked for the Diet Coke we ordered 15 minutes before, when we told the server that he gave the wrong person the wrong thing, then when asking for boxes for our stuff we didn’t get to finish after they kicked us out. About 5 minutes after they kicked us out, while we were finishing our conversation with the friends went to dinner with(since we had to cut it short in the restaurant) we saw one of the rude employees talking to someone very causal, both leaning on a truck parked across the front of the restaurant, about 5 yards away from us, the entire time we had & finished our conversation. Some food we had tonight was pretty good & some was the worst I’ve ever had. If you want to take your chances ONLYDOTOGO, if that. The prices ARE dine in so I highly DONOT recommend going or getting food there.

I have been looking for a suitable sandwich place since I left my last job and I am very happy with Pietro’s. I usually order the Pietro’s hoagie and it’s amazing! I have yet to try anything else, but I just love the sammies. I noticed that it’s super busy on a Friday so be prepared to wait for your order. The service is mediocre at best but you come here for the food and nothing else.

My mom and I have been coming here for more than 14 years. Every time we get the same thing, a large Hoagie with avocado. Absolutely the best sandwich to get. The bread is always fresh, and sandwiches have the same quality over all these years. Avocado is an additional charge but it is worth it!

The pizza that I picked up was VERY delicious. A SMALL is enough for 2 people actually. But I had ordered a PESTO pizza with ARTICHOKE as(extra) that was IT! For some reason when my gf brought me the pizza and opened I up the box, it had ALSOGREENPEPPERS and ONIONS on it. Now it is ONE thing to misunderstand ONE thing on the PHONE when ordering… but TWO? I was so hungry I ate it anyways, but seriously folks?!

I ended up here by accident, I was headed to Roma Market which is next door! it had been on my bookmarks to try their Sandwiches so when I saw the sign outside Submarines, Pizza etc I thought this was part of Roma Market«Even Though» it’s CLEARLY marked Pietro’s… #PanchoFail I realized after being inside and looking over the menu I was in the wrong place but I’m already there so let’s order and eat! Pietro’s Special Meatball — Small($ 6.35) First off the Bread/Roll is GREAT… High Five to who ever makes these! unfortunately the Roll and the Provolone & Mozzarella Cheese is the highlight of this sandwich! The marinara sauce was bland, the meatballs are small no seasoning and taste like they are store bought frozen balls! horrible meatball sandwich 2-Stars for the bread & Cheese the rest #Fail Roma Market I’ll see you another day!

Wow, I really liked this place, I even stood up for the cashier in my tips, but the bad Unilocal reviews have proved to be true. Went in with my husband to have a pizza. Ordered a: a small side of pasta salad and a medium pizza with peppercini, artichokes, and olives. *Note that there’s no meat on the pizza, that’s bc my husband can’t eat meat, and hasn’t in over 20 years. There was only two people working the place, and it was slowly starting to get busy, so we were patient and didn’t mind that it took 30 minutes for our food to arrive. When our food did arrive, it was wrong. The pizza had pepperoni instead of peppercini. I can see how they could have gotten it confused considering how similar they sound. It was a mistake, no big deal… but regardless, I paid for a pizza, and I expect to receive what I paid for. We notify the guy about the mistake, request a new pizza as peeling off the pepperoni is not an option –husband will get violently ill if he eats meat, anything cooked in meat is enough to make him sick. Btw, my husband actually mentions this to the cook… I had a feeling they would try and pull a fast one on us as the place was getting busier, but I kept quiet. 5 minutes later, we get our«new» pizza which in actuality was our old pizza. The wise guy who was cooking thought he could simply rip off the pepperoni, and throw on some peppercini like we wouldn’t notice. I’m no rocket scientist, but last time I checked, it takes longer than 5 minutes to bake a pizza. So before I even looked at the«new» pizza, I knew it was sketch. It was so obvious, there were huge empty patches all over the pizza stained with pepperoni grease. If that wasn’t obvious and unacceptable enough, he forgot several slices of pepperoni on the pizza to add insult to injury! It’s actually almost comical, except that it was also an insult to my intelligence. The fact that my husband told him about his allergy, and he still tried to serve him the SAMEEXACT pizza blows my mind. Who does that?! We asked for a refund, and the cashier was completely rude, and unapologetic. There needs to be some sort of new management or employees. The food here is decent, but if the service continues to be absolute shit, this place is going to go out of business. There are plenty of other Italian eateries in Pasadena that I would rather support, with better customer service and quality of food.

If you want a salami sub, I’m telling you. get it here. I made the biggest mistake of getting an Italian sub from Lovebirds and it made me gag. Italian dressing on a sandwich does not an Italian sandwich make. Or whatever. Pietro’s served me about ½″ of salami slices with shredded lettuce(minimal), pickled banana peppers, mayo, tomato and provolone on a fantastic roll and I was in heaven. The chew of the bread. the fresh meat. the peppers. I had redeemed myself. The man who takes orders doesn’t look the friendliest but he never gives me loose change. He always rounds up and gives me bills. He smiles at me now too. :) The only thing is sometimes there aren’t the most friendly patrons dining in. Otherwise, I like enjoying my sandwich in their little shop.

I stumbled in to Pietro’s thinking it was the extended sandwich shop from Roma Deli next door. Well, it is not but I am sure happy that I decided to stay. I’m a sucker for a good Italian meats sammie. I went for the simple Salami and Cheese and kept it dressed as is(mayo, vinaigrette, tomatoes, lettuce). The bread was wonderful. Fresh, soft and with the right amount of tooth when you bite down. The salami was sliced on the thicker side which to my surprise, i enjoyed. But most important this sammie was dressed to perfection with the right amount of fixins. Just the right amount of mayo to coat the bread so the meat and cheese stayed in place. Just the right amount of vinaigrette to flavor up the lettuce and tomato. All in all for $ 5.95(small size) this was a truly spectacular simple Italian sammie. Next up was a Calzone filled with pepperoni. Can we say perfection? I’m thinking yes. The crust was divine! I would have ate it on it’s own even if it wasn’t stuffed with a delicious marinara sauce, ooey gooey cheese and mounds of pepperoni. A $ 7.95 pocket of heaven this calzone was. I wanted a little more love from the grouchy Italian grandpa that took my order but once I started to chow down I wasn’t going to let that get in the way. At Pietro’s food wins this time over service.
