Staying at the beautiful inn. Dinner for 2 at 6 with reservations. Not busy, a few tables. Took 30 minutes to take our drink order and another 20 to get drinks. Another 2 hours for dinner. While we sat there we saw one patron be seated and ignored for at least 30 minutes, then she left. The food was good, service deplorable. When I complained they were apologetic and indicated they were short on staff. No excuse for ignoring customers. I emailed the manager who was not on site — no response. Emailed the Inn contact — no response. We shall see what they have to say at checkout. We will not visit the restaurant again and reconsidering the Inn as well. UPDATE: I was contacted by the Inn and after discussing the situation they were very apologetic and felt the service we received was not their normal standard of service. I am appreciative of their contact and will back off a bit on my review. Yes the service was bad. Hopefully what they say is true and this is not normal. I was also upset that I was not contacted immediately via the email. They reminded me that the manager was out of the office and their out of office response clearly reflected that — and that is true. I was very upset and had no one who took my concerns to heart. Having had this conversation with them I am not adverse to visiting again and perhaps even giving the restaurant another chance in the future. The dinner once served, was very good.

we went to celebrate our birthdays and waited over an hour for one artichoke and the waitress finally came over and said that it had been given to someone upstairs… finally it came and to her credit she gave us each soup and more bread while waiting but they charged to split our steak and mostly the 10 oz steak was poorly cooked and on bread with little meat and lots of bread, the waitress was attentive and yet the food prep was disappointing. stayed in the hotel and had to ask for coffee and the robes for the room each night. Location is great but restaurant disappointing when so many to choose from.

Appetizer(Brussel sprouts) were better than the steak I thought. Service was just okay.

After having never made it in here for years despite hearing how good it is I have actually made it in three times in the last year. The food has always been amazing. Twice I went in for the Prime Rib Special on Wednesday nights and once on a date night with my husband. My husband is the pickiest eater when we got out and he was even impressed. The service is always fantastic. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a steak in Paso.

Food here was surprisingly good and fairly priced. Waitress was very good as well. Music was atrocious… from the 1940’s and dreary. Not sure why they would play this music unless their customer base is in their 90’s…

Sad they don’t have Wild Horse Merlot as house red wine any longer. You can’t even get it at all! :(

Service was great and the food was amazing. Steak was cooked PERFECT! Even enjoyed breakfast the very next day. Also, was offered a $ 5 off coupon here on Unilocal if I checked in and it had expired 12÷21÷15(Boo!) and the restaurant still accepted it.

This is a Breakfast Review. in the Steakhouse. After two days camping @ the lake, without much good food, we needed a big yummy meal. Tried to look on Unilocal, but our battery died. Went in here«blind.» Sent my wife in to scout it out. She had two reasons we stayed. #1 Plenty of people inside and 3 magic words Chicken Fried Steak. It’s a nice dining room and patio/grounds outside. The menu was standard fare and prices were reasonable. Good coffee. Fine, attentive, friendly and smiling service. Now the food. My son(only 8) and I ordered the CFS. I was so proud the little guy stepped up and abandoned the kids menu. The CFS was only $ 10. The big plate was a ten. Great steak, crispy, ok portion and delicious country gravy. The eggs were fine and the hash browns were some of the most flavorful I’ve ever had. I know, weird to say, but true. I cleaned the plate plus the 2 slices of orange and parsley. it came with a biscuit that was really fresh and tasted truly homemade. My son enjoyed his, unfortunately; I didn’t get to clean up much. Wife had a Denver omelette($ 10). Looked big and fresh. Same hash browns, biscuit with a complimentary dish of gravy and same results… empty plate. Daughter had bacon and eggs($ 9). Standard. The bacon came 4 slices, well fried, thick and delicious. It looked like the had some good bloody mary’s, nick named Worlds Best .I can’t wait till next time.

Dinner and live entertainment upstairs at the bar, so much fun. We got into town late and we’re looking for a good dinner and relax and this was perfect. The band was incredible, food and service were amazing

I’d like to give it 4 ½ stars. Had a very good experience here on a Sunday evening. Petit Filet Mignon and Ribeye, both excellent and cooked how we liked it. The asparagus was not cooked correctly(I cook my own all the time) and was limp but everything else(potatoes, mushrooms) was very good. Not cheap, but not expensive and good ambiance. Going back next time we’re in town.

Attended Thanksgiving buffet. Accommodating staff but lack-luster presentation, food acceptable but at 40 bucks a person just that. Dessert was included but your coffee will be three(3) additional dollars a cup. 3 bucks a cup! Who charges for coffee at a buffet???

I have been been going to Paso inn to eat since I was very little, and I have to say it is getting worse and worse! We went for brunch and prior to our reservation, the restaurant called and said they could not get us in because the table in front of us waited longer than expected. We waited an additional 30 mins to arrive and then was never explained that kids can order their meals different than the brunch buffet– oh, but they wouldn’t do that since breakfast time was over since we had to wait to arrive. I’ve never had a restaurant do this before. My most recent experience was on a Saturday morning, which it was moderately slow. My family(including a toddler) waited while every server walked by us not even acknowledging us waiting at the hostess station. About 10 minutes later someone finally came up and offered to help us. After ordering our meal and waiting what felt like forever, I finally asked the server why the wait was so long and if I could just get a bowl of fruit for my toddler. The server shockingly said no as I might as well just wait for my meal. I was so stunned that she said she couldn’t get me a simple bowl of fruit, especially after waiting so long for our food-on a slow day when only half of the tables were occupied! I have to say I have never complained to the managers or anyone because I have noticed on here they only apologize and say they wish you to come back. Now why would I want to come back after horrible service(several times), pay for the entire meal without a single discount or offer, and be just as upset if not more upset than I was before? This establishment has the worse customer service I’ve ever experienced in Paso!

We read all these great reviews and local people bragged about it but in the end we were disappointed. Our steaks were over cooked. My Caesar salad had very little flavor which is head to do. The ribs were good but our kids had them. Overall a poor experience

Stopped in with my son on a drive from San Francisco to OC. Pleasantly surprised to find we arrived on Wednesday Prime Rib night. The service was very prompt and friendly. We immensely enjoyed the grilled artichoke appetizer. Worth the stop in itself. Simply done but absolutely delicious. A little salt, pepper, olive oil, and maybe something else. That’s all that was needed. Fantastic! Similarly, the prime rib was phenomenal. Simply well prepared with great quality ingredients. Already looking forward to the next time we can come back.

Very a comodating staff. California Omelet is good, not oily. Avocado. Love it. Kymberlie was helpful and we good deal on our breakfast by being a Unilocaler. Avail the offer here. Buen provecho! Wish I can try the dinner. Next time!

The organic Grilled Salmon with capers dish was nothing short of perfection. It was grilled, juicy, with a hint of fishiness that you expect from a salmon. The topping of capers added the perfect amount of salty seasoning that made me anticipate my next bite(no joke). It was all piled on top of delicious rice pilaf. The soup for the day was clam chowder, and I love clam chowder, and this place has some amazing chowder!!! So if you get the opportunity to get the clam chowder. I highly recommend it!

Had the best piece of prime rib I’ve had in a while tonight. And, yes, after wine tasting. Excellent! The appetizer, grilled artichoke was delicious! Can’t go wrong on a baked potato with all the toppings. I’m going to venture to guess that service could be improved, as most of the low ratings seem to be due to customer service issues, not food. Too bad. A good, knowledgable, dependable food server can be a hard thing to find.

Came out on prime rib night. Yikes! Paso people love their prime rib, the place was packed. The service was awful, with our table sitting unhelped for dozens of minutes. Returns service was quite bad too. The prime rib was quite good though. I don’t think I would come back right away but if I was craving some prime rib this might be a place to consider if you don’t have other options. Though I’d rather try someone else’s before coming back here. Too many senior citizens make for generally lowered wait staff service quality. Take your folks, or grandparents here, but not yourself.

I had lunch at the Paso Robles Steakhouse trying out their new menu and chef. Glad to see some updated items on the menu but was disappointed that there is no fish other than fried fish and chips or grilled shrimp as an add on to salads. Very heavy in the meat category. The prices are reasonable for sandwiches which come with a side salad or soup and choice of fries, but my Kale Caesar was $ 16 with the added chicken, which was more expensive than any sandwich.(Same as Prime Rib). The salad was a good mix of kale and romaine cut nicely with a generous serving of my favorites-boquerones anchovies. The dressing was yummy with a perfect amount of garlic, dressed with just the right amount. The croutons, which I can usually do with or without, we’re absolutely plain and flavorless making them a «do without» item. The chicken which seemed to be seasoned nicely was too well done taking away the possible enjoyment of flavor. All in all, I would grade this a 3 star and not as good as the prior California salad on their old menu. Bummer… hope to try something else next time to see if it hits the mark better. Service is great and the ambiance is nice.
