Great food and drinks! Went here 3 times during our four day trip. Raw bar oysters were fresh and delicious. Great hang out feel, friendly staff. Will come back next time in P-town!

We stopped in here for pizza and to watch the soccer match last night. It was the only place in P-town showing the match! Fortunately for us, the food was pretty good. The buffalo wings were so-so. They weren’t cooked enough for my liking(the skin was still mushy). My husband seemed to enjoy them. The fried calamari was excellent! And it comes with fried banana peppers too. Bonus! We ordered a barbecue chicken pizza and a meat lovers pizza. Both were great! We sat at the bar since we were watching the soccer match, and our bartender was great with the drinks!

Went for $ 1 happy hour oysters, $ 2 Jonas crab claws. Cool vibe. Can’t beat the price. Claws were delish but oysters just okay. Good service.

We we walking around Provincetown looking for a place to eat lunch. Passing by JD’s wood fired pizza, we noticed they had some of their dishes out displaying their food. What did my wonderous eyes see, but a whole lobster. I swear he looked at me and said«eat me.» We were lured in and seated. We did not need menus. We both ordered the lobster. They have different sizes with prices to match. Me a 1 lb., him a 1 ¼ lb. Mine was $ 16.00, his $ 18.00. It came with corn on the cob, slaw and French fries. Of course they had melted butter for dipping. Everything was cooked to perfection. The lobster was sweet and juicy. The sides were delicious. The inside of the lobster was creamy and sweet. As we were leaving, I noticed a raw bar that was stocked with every type of shell fish. Now Joan, you say. A lobster is a lobster. Now that may be true, but the price of lobster at most places was high. I don’t know why because the ocean is right there, but JD’s delivered with the prices. Would I come back here? Definitely.

Had the prosciutto and arugula pizza. Very fresh and tasty. Only issue was a little dry due to not enough tomato sauce… so if u order this ask for extra sauce. Service was excellent. Waitress was adorable and very accommodating. Prices very good.

I have no reason to go back here other than to just grab a beer and people watch. I ordered a Bloody Mary which was very weak and tastes like straight-up tomato juice. They give you a small price of celery and a couple olives. The celery was soft, like it was frozen at one point. The food was nothing to be excited about. We got the Tokyo Tower and Mexican Taco Salad Bowl(I don’t remember the exact name). I don’t recommend the salad bowl at all. The taco bowl was slightly stale, and didn’t have any seasoning. The waiter came off rude and on our way out complained about other patrons which I felt to be very unprofessional. There are many amazing places to eat in Ptown, this is not one I would bother with.

Stopped in for a wood fired pizza; we weren’t terribly hungry so sharing one is perfect. Had the marinara pizza… it was just fine. They give oregano, hot pepper and parmesan cheese to sprinkle on the pizza… I highly recommend using a dose of each to kick it up a bit. Friendly service; nice people. They decided to open tonight since the weather was great today. The deck has heaters, so they can accommodate clientele in chillier weather.

I’m so sorry i didn’t take any photos of our meals so you could see the awesomeness! Stopped here with my family on Saturday night. We were looking for some simple fried shrimp and saw that JD’s had it on their menu. Boy! Were we so happy with our orders! The fried shrimps were more like jumbo shrimps, they were cooked to perfection and soooo fresh!!! Such a pleasant surprise! we were so pleased, that even with all the other restaurants that P-town has to offer, we found ourselves back for dinner the next night and we had the same results! It was busy both nights, but the waitstaff was very pleasant and on top pf everything. If we’re ever in P-town again, this will be our first stop for dinner!

Got the pound burger. It was just another burger. The amount of fries were ample but it was a little on the pricey side

Solid raw bar happy hour. The oysters were good. We also had the lobster rolls, which were good. not fantastic, but solid. It’s a big outdoor space and seems to be a good bar hangout. Probably one of the few bars in P-Town with ESPN on too.

I hate to give only 1 star, but our experience at JD’s was terrible. I came here last year and had a really good meal and was expecting the same this year but was very disappointed. After we sat down, it took our waiter 15 minutes to come over to take our drink order. The restaurant was not busy at all when we got there so I don’t know what he was doing or why it took that long. After taking our drink order he took another 10 – 15 minutes to bring us waters which was all we ordered for drinks. When we went to order our meals, I asked about substituting a side salad for my cole slaw because I don’t like cole slaw and he started at me for awhile and then said«We can’t do that. But we can charge you…(he looks at the menu and the price of a normal side salad) $ 5.00 for the salad.» Ok that is just me ordering a salad so I said no thank you. If everything else had gone well at this place that wouldn’t have bothered me so much, but I didn’t think it was a huge deal to ask for that substitution and most places would have just do that or at least charged a little less then full price which I would have been fine with. We finally got our food and my $ 25 scallop basket was ridiculous. Five little scallops and a huge plate of cold fries. My friend ordered the seafood basket and also had gross cold fries and not very much food. Another waiter came over and saw that we had no water because our waiter never came back to help us again after bringing us our food so she brought us a pitcher of water. About 5 minutes later our waiter comes over and starts to refill one of our waters even though we now had a pitcher… it was all very weird. There are a TON of amazing places to eat in ptown and the rest of the week we were there we hit some really great restaurants. There is no point in coming to JD’s because they are not any cheaper than anywhere else and the quality of their food and service is way below every other place around.

The food was not bad but it could be better. The drinks(cocktails) were very weak though. Service was 4 I’d say. Don’t think I’d come back here.

Stephanie is the best bartender ever. Nicest and most welcoming person I’ve ever met at a bar. She makes you feel like a local! She is worth the visit alone! Try the piña coladas! They are small… but worth it :)

I admit that I’m struggling a bit on my star rating for JD’s. I actually feel like it deserved 4 stars if the issues other reviewers raised here are considered — my server was such a sweet and attentive server from Bulgaria who was incredibly fun and knowledgable of the menu. We visited on a busy Saturday night, and there were no delays at all. The food was in large portions and a good value. It’s true that there are so many other good places to eat in Ptown — so I had to give 3 stars on food quality when compared to the other good options — but I encourage you to take the reviews here lightly as they were not true of my experience. And I also enjoyed the warm flame heaters on the patio on a cool Ptown evening. My friend enjoyed the oyster variety platter, and it was quite large and diverse. We then shared the fried seafood basket which consisted of a variety of fried seafood that tasted freshly battered that was accompanied by french fries. I also liked the clam chowder, and thought it was just as high in quality as nearby options like Lobster Pot. There are other good options in Ptown, but this place is a nice setting on Commercial and fun. I recommend it.

So many other places in town. NOT impressed. We left. The place looked and sounded fun from the street but it’s not. The staff barely acknowledged our presence. We waited a bit but decided to leave and spend our time and money at a place that actually provides service. Can’t say anything about the food because we never ordered because no one came to our table but judging from what we saw others eat I don’t think we missed anything.

Slower than molasses wait staff. Great location but food is mediocre. This place could be awesome if they hired staff that seemed to care about service.

Pros: great drinks Gave my 30 year old friend a grilled cheese Onion rings and fries and veggie burgers good Cons: meat is processed and disgusting. None of it is fresh or made on site(had a salad with cubed reconstituted turkey and a terrible lamb burger) Everything made offsite and brought in, was hard to get salad without corn because it was already made somewhere else More expensive than expected Overall: I am in a group of 5…1 vegan, 2 vegetation and 2 paleo. Vegan said 4⁄5 veggies 3⁄5 and paleos 1⁄5 or 2⁄5 I appreciate that they are open between 3 – 6 pm and could accommodate our different needs. Service was friendly enough.
