I’ve never been in without walking out without a couple of cheeses. They are very patient and will let you sample until you find what you’re looking for. The manage and, I believe, his son know their damn cheese and can make some very good suggestions for your needs, be it a party or for pairing with scotch, wine or a particular style of food.

So delicious! Only got a cheese platter from here one time my husband and I were out and shared a bottle of wine. They were so knowledgeable about everybody they served us and what paired well with each cheese. Very fun and interesting experience. They have a wide variety of other foods like sandwiches that look delicious as well

Amazing! The sandwiches are so good and unique! I got the grilled French onion which is basically a French onion soup sandwich. Yes it is amazing!

Beautiful shop full of delicious cheeses, made with the finest ingredients! We tasted several, bought a few, and can’t wait to come back. They serve sandwiches which sound wonderful(sadly, we’d already eaten). They also sell all kinds of accessories and delicious items to accompany the cheeses. They have baskets so you can create a gorgeous gift, perfect for the holidays. Lovely owners, too!

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long Time… Pig & Fig. Rosemary ham, Brie and fig jam on the best baguette. Can’t wait to try a different one next time.

I came here during an event hosted by the Newcomers club. We brought our own wine and were able to sample different kinds of cheese. Really enjoyed it here. Ill bring my parents and definitely come back.

I’ve been here twice and I have to say the quality of the cheese and sandwiches is amazing. The low review is for the fact that their prices are very deceptive. They explained that it was $ 5 per cheese for a platter when I ordered. I ordered a 7 cheese platter for a group of 6 people. When I went to pay later they charged me $ 120. When I asked how that could be they explained that the prices was per cheese per person. That didn’t make sense either because it would have come to much more. I couldn’t get a straight answer for what I was being charged for. So if you are looking for good quality cheese and deli sandwiches you will definitely find them here. But get a definite answer on prices because they gouged us.

Had the Parma sandwich and it was everything I expected and more. Cheese selection was extensive and easy to navigate. Prices are comparable to Sickles(also in the area.) Good stuff Cheese Cave!

To be fair my review is based solely on their cheese tasting classes. I’ve attended two now and both were excellent. The owner/teacher was very knowledgeable and funny. The pairings were great and we were able to bring our own wine with us. They frequently post deals on Groupon for their classes.

Girlfriend has the 4 cheese grilled cheese and tomato, I had the big bleu. Both were unreasonably good! Their selection of cheeses was excellent, but there was a supplier or something there so we didn’t have a chance to pick the staff’s brain about trying something new. But we will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I went for the French cheese tasting class and it was so much fun! I bought the deal on groupon and at first I was afraid it would be filled with a more sophisticated and experienced crowd but it wasn’t like that at all! It was so much fun. The man who taught us about cheese was so funny and new so much about cheese. It was really interesting. We loved it I would recommend going here it was a lot of fun!

Not sure what the hype is about, I had the muffuletta and couldn’t finish it because the olive tapenade was way too salty. I may come back to give it another try.

I stumbled upon the Cheese Cave on Unilocal when I was looking up places to go to around Asbury park. I found this place and when I looked up the menu, I knew I had to come here! So many different types of cheese and cheese sandwiches! I’m not sure how packed it normally is but we came in on a Monday at around 2 and there was only one other person dining there. We ordered two sandwiches. The Parma(Proscuitto di Parma, Mozzarella, Parmigiana Reggiano, Roasted Tomatoes, Arugula, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, Baguette) and the Big Blue(Buttermilk Blue, Aged Cheddar, Bacon, Green Apple, Fig Jam & Arugula, Sour Dough). I was under the impression that all of the sammies are grilled cheeses but they aren’t. It’s not a bad thing but just something good to know! I really liked the Parma. It tasted really fresh, especially the mozzarella. The bread was perfectly toasted. The Big Blue was good for the first couple of bites. But the more I ate it, the saltier it tasted. It was a little too much. So if you’re looking for something lighter, the Parma is your best option between the two. And of course, what grilled cheese would be complete without some creamy tomato soup? We ordered one bowl to share and it was the perfect amount to go with both sammies, without going overboard. I can’t wait to come back and try $ 5 Fridays. Apparently, it’s $ 5 cheeses on Fridays from 5 – 8.

This place rocks. The lunch sandwiches are so incredibly delicious and get their tomato soup if you order any of their grilled cheeses. It is heavenly. Can’t beat $ 5 fridays. Bring some wine, a group of friends, and get their early as it is PACKED!

A co-worker recommended I try The Cheese Cave for lunch… and it was a worthy recommendation. The owner is very knowledgeable about their namesake, and willing to share this with his customers offering an incredible variety of delicious cheeses. My sandwich was exceptional and the setting equally warm. You are surrounded by a rustic shop that offers comfortable seating and a view of so many more treats to take home with you once you’ve finished your meal. I returned not only for another lunch order, but to take home a variety of cheese, olives and more. The truffle cheese alone made my wife a fan and she’s eager to try more including venturing in some night soon to enjoy a meal and sampling during an event. The staff is always friendly and the food has never failed to make an impression.

The dude that owns this spot is mad cool. The cheese tasting class was on-point. I learned a shit ton. Bought a whole bunch of French cheeses which I tore up when I got to my abode. I gotta hit it again on $ 5 Fridays. If you go across the street to The Wine Cellar, you get a discount so you can get drunk during these lectures. Like I did.

Yeah… a cheese shop in NJ that isn’t a pizzeria. Located in the trendy Red Bank area, the Cheese Cave is a really inviting place with seating comprised of 6 – 8 tables and a small coffee table & couch at the end of the store. Me and my sister decided to attend their recent 5PM — 8PM $ 5 Friday promotion where several cheeses are served for customers to sample. Upon entering we were promptly and cordially greeted by one of the staff who described the $ 5 promotion and showed us what they had for tonight’s sampling. I noticed that the place was pretty darn busy with basically all tables being occupied by some happy looking customers… good sign. We started perusing the shop and ogled the multitude of yummy cheeses, cookies, crackers, jams, jellies, and spreads they have for sale. We started sampling the cheeses and of the four served the best IMO was the Spanish goat cheese named Capricho di Capra. Second was a yummy rich and mild feta. In addition to the cheeses several jams were offered and it was very interesting to taste the red bell pepper jam(sweet to start and spicy at the end). A bit weird but interesting nonetheless. We decided not to leave the store empty handed so we purchased a half pound of the Capricho di Capra, a package of the feta, and also something which caught my eye; cultured butter with sea salt. The staff behind the counter/display were both friendly, very informed, and informative to several questions I had. Thank the almighty that I am not lactose intolerant and can thoroughly enjoy a place like this! Note…they have charcuterie as well :)
