Good decent food! The buffet menu is good. They make you feel welcome. Service is a problem — like no refills on soft drinks or naan. The chicken tikka masala is decent. The tandoori chicken is not as good though. The pakora is too greasy. Overall I think I would give this place one more shot for lunch!

Me and girlfriend eat there today. We love Indian food. But this buffet way not good. The deep fried tasted like old grease. They only good thing was the tea. But that was something we could of made. So after 32 $ and unsatisfied we thought at least ppl should stay away from this not so taste of India.

When we first got in there was a weird dark skinned scary guy who kept staring us and our plates. He was really awkward and disturbing to look at. The food had a weird look and taste to it. It also tasted like it was left out for at least a month. I HIGHLYDON’T RECOMMENDTHISRESTAURANT if are just starting out to try Indian food.

Good flavors and service. We had the buffet and the total price was decent. I will be back because it hit the spot. It lacked the depth of flavors I’m used to when eating Indian food.

This is one of my absolute favourite restaurants! I think they are family owned; if not, there is certainly a wonderful level of camaraderie between the staff. They have such wonderful, WONDERFUL customer service! Very kind and welcoming! The food is AMAZING and full of flavor! I love this restaurant!

We absolutely love their cuisine! My husband loves their spicy curries; while I like that the chef will modify the«spice level» to suit my requirements perfectly every time. The naan is outstanding! It doesn’t matter if we go for lunch or dinner, the service and staff are always top notch. We are frequent diners at the Taste of India Restaurant.

I’ve followed the owners of the restaurant from Fair Oaks to their newest location here for 20 years. I love their food and their hospitality!

Man this place is good! I always call ahead and pick up a to go order. Very friendly service, great food and very personable employees. I will continue to get my Indian Food fix from this place. I’ve tried other places, and the chicken is low quality. This place has fine ingredients, and I’m a picky eater. Chicken Tika is where it’s at!

Ordered some items for pick-up and found that overall the meal did the trick for my craving, but felt it could have been better. Here’s what we got and my opinion. Vegetable samosa — Potato filling only, no peas as stated on menu, but flavorful and fresh. Chicken tikka masala — Just ok, I’ve had, and made, better. Thought it was a bit bland and the sauce thin, but good amount of chicken. A bit disappointing though. Tandoori chicken — Really flavorful and moist. Quite good. Navrattan korma — I’ve never had this dish with so much cabbage in it. Seemed like filler, as at other places it’s been more robust with cauliflower, and more potatoes, which even in this dish were sparse. Decent flavor, though. Naan, garlic and plain — Delicious. Keer — About the same as anywhere else, no complaints, quite tasty. In total it was $ 46. I think if I was to go back I’d likely give the buffet a try, as it might be better value, but I’ll probably keep looking for my new go-to Indian spot.

All the food pretty much tastes like it’s been sitting there all day by the time dinner rolls around. It was like pulling teeth to get service here. I guess they figure that since there is a buffet customers deserve as little interaction as is humanly possible. Their naan is excellent, but you get one piece when you sit down and even when you ask for more and they tell you«sure»…you may never see them or the naan… in our case, we saw the waitress again but all she had to offer was the bill. Terrible service, mediocre(at best) food. The reviews don’t make any sense and I’d challenge those that«love» this place to eat around a few different India food restaurants and you’ll begin to «get it» that this place is not as great as the reviews claim it to be. Unfortunate since it is within walking distance of our house.

To begin with I’m clueless when it comes to Indian Food, but I’m trying new things. I walked in and was greeted immediately with a smile. I let them know I was new to Indian food and they explained the menu to me. I got a combo platter to go with an extra side of Nan. I was very happy with their recommendations and I will visit them again. One more note I asked for medium and it was a little spicy for me, but I did eat everything with no problem.

It was my first time here, I got the chef’s recommendation and it was awesome! I got the non-veg plate and I was more than full afterwards. I will for sure be coming back!

SIGH — PROBABLYWONTRETURN We stopped in here because it was convenient to where we live. Figured we’d give it an honest try. Had the buffet, and herein lies the problem: Everything that I had on the buffet was good… EXCEPTTHETIKKAMASALAANDTHETANDOORICHICKEN. The one food that put Indian cuisine on the map… and it is bland and boring here. The tandoori chicken was dark meat only. The naan was good. The pakora was good. But let’s be honest: nobody goes to eat Indian for the naan and pakora. I’m beginning to think that Sacramento people have had their food pallets so numbed from years of bland food that it has become all they understand. I’ve been here for 3 and a half years, and I’m having a very hard time with it… especially when I see reviews for places like this with food like this. I’m sorry, but this place gets a 2.

My usual go to indian food restaurant is closed. Gone. Poof. We went there last night assuming they would be open. No dice. Empty. Sad, they were so good! But things happen. While reading the book Shantaram there have been so many references to Indian food I was on a mission. Earlier in the day I had glanced over at a place I had never been to before, so I suggested we give them a try. A Taste of India in Roseville is very good! They have buffet or off menu. They have an extensive menu too. Very casual neighborhood place. All the items we shared were delicious. The service was polite and courteous. I was totally satisfied with my meal. I will be back ! My craving was taken care of quite well.

My First time here the place was empty when I walked in. Guess im just an early bird for dinner. It does seem to pick up in the afternoon. I get the lamb vindalu. It comes ‘very spicy.’ It was enough for me I warn you i like spicy food. If you dont like spicy they do make mild curry. They also have a buffet which is $ 13 its not spicy. They do carry non-curry foods in case you have a friend who doesnt like curry. The naan bread which was thin and super crispy, not doughy at all. Restaurant itself was very Nice, new, and clean looking. The bathroom was visible from the front door. Its a single stall. I’ll be back! If you cant find it, its in the back of the lot for Safeway.
