Attention vegetarians and people that don’t want to get sick!!! I have seen full sized dead animals like sheep being transported in a shopping cart followed by a line of blood!!! I am so disgusted by this business practice I can’t imagine they have a sanitary butchery in their shop.

Do not buy meat from him. Had severe food poisoning. I am not even sure if they follow the rules on expiry dates. Check each packet carefully for expiry dates. They sell it months after the expiry date.

The food is vegetarian… lots of the photos show some meat dishes that were made by a chef that was there before now. I can tell you, I’m ½ Indian and raised on Indian food. I was raised in the Bay Area, CA. I LOVE dosa. Since I moved out here I’ve been looking for a good dosa. Most places don’t ferment the batter enough. Not this place. This dosa reminded me of my childhood! I took my meat-eating husband here. He wanted me to be happy so fully expected to go home and eat some meat after this vegetarian experience. NOTTHECASE! He was very satisfied with the dosa, the iddly sambar and the chole bhattura. OMG the food was so good. Finally, an Indian restaurant to satisfy my dosa cravings!

My neighbourhood Indian grocery store where I get all my Indian kitchen supplies and nostalgic treats like green mango drinks and sesame brittles. Recently they overhauled their food counter and turned it into a full fledged South Indian menu. I was initially skeptical because that’s how I am with all Indian food in the US — I’m overly picky and nothing really feels good enough. I ordered a masala dosa and an eggplant stir fry. First off — the sambar accompanying the masala dosa was so delicious! After ages I found a South Indian restaurant that made delicious sambar with beautifully balanced flavours and topped with shredded coconut — yumm! The eggplant was amazing — had nutty flavours from the toasted lentils and just the right amount of fried curry leaves. Lovely food — if they keep up these great standards they might become my regular take out option for the nights I don’t feel like cooking.

Such delicious food, samosa chaat, pani puri, and many more. You can choose from chaat, or full lunch specials, prices are so good, inexpensive, but very tasty. I almost forgot they are a great grocery store for south Asian groceries. They are family owned and operated, and they treat you like family when you come in.

Let me start by saying that this is a family run joint so automatically has a very homey feel. The owners are super friendly The grocery prices are very reasonable. The halal meat corner is extremely clean and hygienic. The quality of the meat is great as well. Now for the chaat… I recently moved from the Bay Area and I can guarantee that this is the best chaat place across the Bay Area. Dahi puri is a must-try!

I stopped in here tonight to grab dinner for my family of 4. I love Indian food, but had never been here before, so I asked the proprietress what she recommended. I must say, her recommendations were fantastic. We fed our family with about half the food, and I’m so happy to have leftovers for tomorrow. We had the chicken kabob, beef kabob(a bit spicy for both, but yummy); paneer wrap, tandoori wrap, rice, and samosa chaat. I bought some yogurt from the deli section to add as a dip to counteract the heat, and the meal was perfect.

This was my first time trying Indian food and I have to say I’m glad it tastes better than it smells. I liked the tandoori chicken wrap and the samosa chatt(potato shells with stuff on it) and the fries were pretty good with the seasoning that they put on them but without the seasoning these would probably be average at best. Have you ever ate something new and with the first couple of bites thought this is really good and by the end of it you didn’t like it anymore, well it was the opposite with their Kebab wrap, the first bite I didn’t like it at all, but when I heated it up later the second bite was still weird but I kept on eating it and by the end I didn’t know if I liked it or not. I definitely didn’t like the texture of the kebab meat, it was like a ground beef with spices rolled up like a sausage and when you chew it, it’s soft and kind of pasty. I would probably order this again just to see if I like it or not. One thing I didn’t like was the sev puri it was like a ritz cracker with a chunk of potato and other stuff on top and when I shoved one in my pie hole I realized that it was a cold dish when my brain was thinking warm, which was another first for me. So I ate one more and decided I didn’t like it. So if I would of just had the tandoori chicken wrap, fries, and samosa chatt I would have given it four stars.

Went here for the first time today and was super impressed with all the spices and specialty items you can find for cooking. I have recently been cooking more Indian food and have been in need of a few hard-to-find items. I think from now on I will be buying my spices here — they have so many unique spices! I also bought ghee here hoping it will be a better brand than the one I previously had. Looking forward to visiting again with recipe in hand. The lady that waited on me was adorable and very helpful. I will definitely be back again.

The prices are reasonable and the food was good!!! I am so happy to have something like this so close to home. While they were making our food we did some shopping and bought several items from the store and they were able to ring up all of out purchases after we were finished. I will definitely return and hope more people find this little gem.

We got several take-away chaat dishes from here for our anniversary dinner(had to stay in because our little son was not feeling well). The whole lot cost only $ 23 but there was so much yummy food that we shared it with my mother AND had leftovers the next day! The pav bhaji(vegetable dish) and beef samosas were outstanding, among the best I’ve had! We’re from a country near India and we’ve had Indian food all our lives so we’re very familiar with it. The food here is both very very delicious and plentiful too. We plan on returning because we want to try out all the dishes! Plus, it’s located inside an Indian grocery store so you can get some shopping done while your chaats are getting made. :-)

All the Chaat is tasty and prices reasonable. Hope they grow their menu to include more favorites like Channa Bhatura and Masala dosa. The chai is very good and service is friendly. The wait is on the longer side but I don’t mind because the quality is good. I always come with friends to make the wait seem shorter. :-)

Authentic Bombay chaat in Roseville? Color this girl happy :) The restaurant area is a good size, given that it is located inside an Indian grocery store. I tried the bhel puri, dahi sev puri, vada pav, and paneer wrap. Delicious. Prices are reasonable, most chaats are under $ 4, the vada pav(single) is $ 2. Unilocal check-in gets you a free Masala Chai. I have not explored the grocery store yet, but definitely plan on it. Added bonus: the owners, Alisha and Peter are both from my neighborhood in Bombay(Bandra), and went to my friends’ schools. Small world indeed :)

Food was bland. The lady working in the kitchen was also working in the front and didnt wash her hands while transitioning. She kept on talking about how her food is better than every indian restaurant in the area and her grocery prices are lower than the other india market across the street. Even if your prices are better/or food why brag about it? But I personally found there food bleh and grocery overpriced.

Ok, so I have NEVER had indian food in my entire life. But neither had my boss, so I didn’t feel too alone. Last week we decided to be a little adventurous and make the walk to the other side of the complex where we work and try this out. We looked on Unilocal!for help in deciding what we wanted, but some of the pictures are just too awful to make out. This place is a grocery store as well, so be warned, if you go for food to eat there, while you’re waiting you’re going to find at least 3 different things on the shelf that you’re going to buy before you even get your order. You place our order at the register. The lady who was there, I’m assuming the owner, was very helpful in talking us through what chaat actually was, because we had no clue! When we finally made our order, we waited. And waited. And waited. Then my sev-puri came out. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a puff cracker on bottom, piled with chunks of potato, and what tastes like pico de gaya, but with a little more spice, and topped off with cilantro. She was right, it was fun food. Super tasty and even good the next day,(even though my crackers were soggy at that point, but that was my fault.) Then we waited some more. And some more. Probably 15 to 20 minutes of waiting for my kebab wrap and my friends tandoori wrap. Both meals came with a side of fries. Hers were perfectly cooked, mine had apparently been sitting under a heat lamp for a while because they were cold and rubbery. The kebab wrap I had was excellent. I loved the flavor and the onions on the inside were very nice and crunchy. Now, this may be the American girl in me, but I wish I had something to dip it in. Some kinda sauce. Like I almost got up and went over to the greek restaurant just to get a side of tzatziki or something. The tandoori wrap, my boss said, was pretty yummy as well. Good flavor, well cooked. In fact, she went again a few days ago. My advice to you is to call ahead. The time spent waiting on this food could be spent doing something else at home for 20 minutes, the coming here and picking up the food. But I will be back. I’ll order ahead… but I’ll definitely be eating Indian food again.

The food was great! Make sure you ask for the spice level to be tweaked with whatever you can handle! We had pav bhaji, pani puri, papri chaat and they were really yummy, having said all that I am not a big fan of the beans they use in almost all their dishes, they look like peas but they’re yellow? I wish they would use garbanzo beans instead.

The Chaat’s are fabulous. In the last few days, I have tried their Tandoori Chicken, Veg Biryani, Vada-Pav, Sev-Puri and Samosa Chaat and all have been great. Their Vada-Pav is very authentic and reminded me of my college days in Nashik –where the best meal of the day was Vada-Pav and half cut chai. Im not sure if they have masala chai there but adding it would just enhance the whole experience. I also saw a sign that they will serve Chicken Biryani this saturday. I know, it is just a grocery store with a small seating for Chaat but remember back in India, the best food was at «thelas”(street food) not restaurants. Go experience this place for yourself and let me know if I am wrong. I agree with the reviewer below that it is better to order ahead.

This is the ONLY place in Roseville that you can find that sells fresh Halal meat, the next nearest location is in Sacramento(at least 30 mins away!). This is a family owned and operated business so you know you’ll always receive excellent customer service. Their prices on the meat is reasonable, even on the groceries! If you are looking for something specific which is hard to find at Indian stores, the owners are happy to hear about and will do their best to order it. Now about the chaat, again this is the ONLY place in Roseville that offers the largest chaat menu. There are others in the area, but they only offer a few items and are very over priced! ZS’s chaat prices are excellent and the taste is awesome, especially their Vada Pav, Beef burger, kebab and chicken roll(I haven’t tried all the items but am looking forward to it). Their chaat fries are a must have(they are regular fries seasoned with chaat masala/indian spice). An added bonus is they offer WiFi for free and will soon be adding a TV.
