We mainly came here because it has a dog-friendly patio. One confusing thing here is that there is no hostess, so apparently the seating everywhere is first come, first serve. Luckily, we found a table pretty easily though. We ordered some food and beers. They had a pretty good beer selection, but their food tasted okay. I was bummed because their food sounded good in the menu, but it just didn’t come out as good as it sounded. I may come here again, but it is a little out of the way from where I live.

The bathrooms were nothing compared to the bar… the bathrooms are horrible… they should have saved a Lil money from the décor to at least put more than 1 sink in restroom…

A long time favourite in San Antonio! Through the years the people have changed but the core is the draw for Real Beer and Ale fans. Frequent events featuring the brewers, pairings, dinners and tastings. The servers are Rockstars with more knowledge about everything they serve. The place has a better and better kitchen, pet friendly patio that’s shaded in the late afternoon(but goofy rules about your well behaved dog sitting on the seat next to you) and the ever troublesome six beer limit. They treat their customers well and try to rotate beers often. Their Ring of Honor rewards have understandably changed through the years but I do wish they would communicate more clearly those changes. It’s a nice hang but you almost can’t stay for an entire playoff game let alone an evening with friends.

Flying saucer is great in the other cities Ive visited it(Austin TX and Columbia SC) and this is no different! Great for groups out on the patio. THe selection is great and the service is pretty quick. I love getting Double Chocolate Stout with Lindemanns Framboise, I think thats a chocolate cherry? Damn its delicious. SO me and my group had a fantastic time.

Flying Saucer is a family favorite for hanging out, having drinks, and eating a good, filling, carb-loaded meal. They’ve revamped their menu recently and the new options are delicious! Still love the huge pretzels; they will forever be my Saucer classic choice dipped in cream cheese and chives. Last time we stopped in, I tried a bratzel, which was not the pretzel bun brat I thought; it’s actually a giant pretzel covered in brat slices and cheese. Still delicious but 3 pretzels in, I had enough! Some other favorites are the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo(So comfy, reminds me of mom’s lunches!) and the generously-topped pizza. Also nice when you find one out of town and can get something consistently good but slightly local! Service at all locations is usually good, albeit sometimes a little slow since they overload them with large sections during lunch hours when I’m usually able to visit. I’m not much of a drinker and was going to give 3 stars, but I think since most people would enjoy the diverse beer menu and fun atmosphere in evenings, a 4 is warranted. My Unilocal rating system: 5 stars= Driving across town just for this! 4 stars= I would recommend visiting. 3 stars= Average, acceptable, positive. 2 stars= You might be able to drag me in. 1 star= I will definitely not be returning.

I’m not a serious beer drinker but about twice a month I come over to the Saucer to see what’s up. There is an interesting selection of brews both in the bottle and on tap. I like most, dislike few. The food here is GREAT. My favorites are the turkey sandwich, the pretzels and for sure the Mediterranean salad with grilled chicken. The o ly thing I’ve had that was not cool for me was the shepherd’s pie. But I don’t normally dump in a bottle of curry when I make my own. ;-) The wait staff is nearly perfect and I swear they remember you when you come in. Very cool place for sure!

First off, our waitress was nice, but she was a «low talker». It was loud in there and she was so soft spoken it was comical and irritating at the same time, and it discouraged any requests for suggestions or descriptions. I had a sweet pear cider that I really enjoyed. For food, I had the Hungry Farmer and Cheese Fries Surprise. The hungry farmer included smoked salmon salami, goat cheese, almonds, port wine cheese, toast and crackers. The fries had chili, shredded cheddar, queso, jalapeños. Both items were enjoyable bar food, and I would order either of them again.

I am surprised to say I have not gone here until recently. I’ve stopped by that area many times to get some ice cream from Brindles and never gone in. I’m glad to say that I finally was able to go eat there/check it out! As soon as you walk inside you see plates everywhere ranging from old to new to interesting(assuming this is where the name comes from). They have a really nice seating area to the right with plenty of light coming through(I had gone early afternoon). According to many people, it gets really packed around night time but luckily they had plenty of seating when I had gone. We ordered the wings, beer, and San Miguel burger. They were all delicious. They provide a wide array of drinks, foods and they even have events. I hope to check this place out again!

Been here more times than I can count. If you enjoy a good beer, you will be in heaven here. They have more options than you could hope for and though at first glance the menu is bar food, everything is awesome! If you like salads, get the side salad with the jalapeño vinaigrette! I always add prosciutto and it is perfection. Go for the pretzel or the wings. Queso is killer too. Oh and if you like it enough, you can sign up for the beer tour. Drink 200 different beers and get a plate on the wall alongside your fellow beer drinking kindred spirits

I love foods and alcohol variety in here. Smt it’s hard to find a place at outside. A bad experience here: We asked for closing fan, it was january and the weather wasn’t hot, fan was annoying. Waitress didn’t take our demand serious, didn’t attempt to close although we asked several times. I hope we don’t take her service again.

This used to be a several times a week spot for my husband and me. But wow, has it gone downhill. Beer selection has gotten… weird. They used to have a great selection at reasonable prices. Now I see a fruit ale for $ 190. Yep, $ 190. For a fruit ale. Service has been consistently poor. Big turnover and there always seems to be huge drama and tension with the waitstaff that greatly affects their attitude toward customers. What was once friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful service has become rude, uninformed about their product, and never checking on their customer. I am so disappointed in this place. I miss the old managers and waitresses. This place has no soul anymore.

I have mixed feelings about this place sometimes I love it… Sometimes I don’t. I love that their patio is dog friendly, and no one can deny their beer selection, but the service is always hit or miss. I wish there was a little more consistency as far as what kind of experience I’m going to have. Lol The pretzels are delicious though!

I cannot believe I have never wrote a review on this fine establishment. This place is full of deals when you come on off nights. The beauty is the«off nights» are not really off nights. For example, on Sunday’s TX pints of beer are $ 3 and on Mondays 160z draughts are $ 3. This is a craft beer spot but don’t let that stop you from having dinner here. The food is on point. I recommend building your own pizza for 10 bucks. You can site outside or inside. If it is chilly outside they usually have the outside heaters on. The service is always on point and friendly. Just try it out. You can Vape out on the patio.

I love the Saucer in Austin. I love the Saucer in St Louis. I do not love the the Saucer in San Antonio. I tried, twice. Both times the service was poor and I didn’t feel like the servers were very outgoing, and I felt like we were irritating to our servers, both times. We used to live by the Flying Saucer in Austin and visited it frequently. Love the fire sale, love trying new beers. Love the apps, the salads, the turkey burger… The food is consistently good. I just haven’t had good experiences here and I will likely not return.

This place is awesome! We have been here a few times and we have had great service, food and beers every time. We have a 1 yr old puppy and we can bring him with us to sit on the patio and it is a great environment. The selection of beer is outstanding and they have tons of different options and the prices are very reasonable. They also have events with different breweries so that’s cool too. The food has always been good but I will say we always get appetizers. The bacon wrapped jalapenos are amazing and they have the perfect amount of spice. The soft pretzels are super good and the sauce is amazing too! I definitely recommend this place!

Slowest service EVER. I tried to order a beer and it took over an hour. This is no exaggeration. The times I ordered a beer. Three times I waited twenty minutes. Three times I got impatient and asked about it. Three times I found out they didn’t have the beer. The whole situation was ridiculous to our whole table. The waitress was on her third shift ever, but she shouldn’t have been left«on an island» on a busy Friday night. The food was fair. At least it came out in a hurry. I was offered little explanation on the beers other than it was her third shift ever. I won’t be in a hurry back. It we my suggestion to go there in the first place because we needed a beer after our 5k. What a debacle.

Flying Saucer always has a wide variety of beers on tap and bottled. The only down side is that they often run out, since I imagine it’s hard to keep over 200 beers in stock at all times. The food is pretty good. The Pork Banh Mi and Turkey Meltdown are two favorites, though the soft pretzels are by far the best thing on the menu. The vibe is relaxed, crowd a little older so it’s nice not to be surrounded by college students. Outdoor seating fills up quickly; it’s quite enjoyable when you can get a table.

The Flying Saucer was one of my go-to places when I lived in the DFW area. I was totally looking forward to pickle-flavored popcorn, which may just be an Addison, TX, thing… unfortunately this location did not have any! Seating: indoors or outdoors. Outdoors is dog-friendly; the wait staff even brought out some water for one of the pups. The outside seating can be super hot in the sun, though. We just ordered drinks, so I cannot say anything about the food. My friend and I both ordered ciders. The cider was tasty and light, as per usual. My sis and her husband ordered fire sale IPAs. They were super cheap at $ 3 each. Service: The service was good — friendly, efficient and quick. The server refilled waters numerous times, and she split our checks without us asking.

Turkey burger was okay but not great. My husband had the burger with the chorizo which was okay but also nothing to rave about. They use dry cheap tasting buns. Portion sizes are huge and you can sub out fries for other options at no extra cost, plus for me because I prefer side salads. The beer was great! They had all Texas pints for $ 3…can’t complain about that! Our waitress was extremely sweet and attentive. Sorry forgot her name. It’s a casual fun place! I would give it another try for sure.

If you are tired of always seeing the same beers in every restaurant… you have to try this place! They have a great variety of beers, and their pub bar food is surprisingly good. The atmosphere is great and the music is not too loud. Perfect spot to come and have a beer after work. If you are a dog lover, this place is pet friendly!

How have I lived here all my life and never eaten here?!? The Cobb Salad with Honey Mustard dressing is amazing. The chicken is moist, tender, and flavorful. The burger was really good. A little too rare for my taste so I’d order medium-well next time. There’s a beer for everyone here. Loving the build your own flight! I can’t wait to come back and try the Hungry Farmer, the Turkey burger, and the Veggie burger. Oh, all the salads sound pretty great as well. Be sure to check out their weekly promotions and events!

San Antonio has the following breweries within the city: — BlueStar(opened in 1996) — Alamo(2003) — Freetail(2008) — Ranger Creek(2010) — Branchline(2012) — Busted Sandal(2013) Half of these breweries do not can or bottle(yet) so the Flying Saucer is one of the only ways to experience them. Beerknurds(as the members are called) can be identified by their tshirts(free with membership), their location(standing near the UFO club kiosks), and the unique way they drink(similar to wine tasting). This particular visit I had Ranger Creek’s Strawberry Milk Stout, Freetail’s Oktoberfiesta, and Branchline Evil Owl Amber. Large selection, great good, friendly customers, and knowledgeable staff. Go visit find your favorite!

Came here for dinner on a MONDAYNIGHT. apparently this is $ 3/pink night. apparently I didn’t get the memo that I was supposed to order pint after pint after pint. The waitress seemed almost shocked that I only ordered one as did my husband. But we ordered dinner and we were full! 1) they didn’t have the only beer I wanted(the blonde ale). I gave up beer bc it makes me feel super full and gross, but I love the taste!!! 2) she brought me 2 different kinds that I tasted blah. but I felt bad and ordered the less worse of the 2. 3) I didn’t finish it but she wanted me to order more and went through a laundry list of others after explaining I was ok,(didn’t want to order anything else) I actually felt bad for not ordering anything else. FOOD: sourdough cheese sandwhich and tomato bisque soup. spouse ordered the banh mi. he said mine was way better. and indeed it was. Would I come back? yes. BUT only if I was coming to it as a drinking liquid only kinda night. I don’t want to inconvenience the waitresses again for only drinking one beer.

This place is cool! We stopped by to have a drink because my fiancé LOVES this place in Houston and tells me all about it whenever be goes. We sat outside and our server was really nice and helped us sign up for the flying saucer club and choose a good drink. Since I don’t love beer, they have a good choice of ciders on their menu too. We didn’t order food but I definitely will next time because everything sounded delicious. They also have games that you can play at your table which is such a great idea. See you again soon Flying Saucer!
