Been going here for years but wont be back. Went here and had the liver and onions. Don’t complain about anything. The black manager will retaliate against you. My liver was requested well done and it was burned. Our salads including the tomatos and cucumbers were rotten. They dumped the cruton container crumbs on our salads. The fries were soaked in grease and were the remnents off the lunch bottom of the fry pan and were ice cold. We basically just left a resturant abused. We paid to prove a point and did not tip the waitress. Someone pushed their fingers in the bread and served it to us. Look at the pics.

Worst place ever. No security in the parking lot. My car window was smashed in less than 2 minutes & everything I had in the car was stolen. I went in & asked the management to check the security camera, they laughed & said my car is the second was hit that night & no they don’t have a camera, it’s pricy !!! I told them having a security camera is pricy? You don’t care about your customers? He said I’d better go check my car too ! And he left. The restaurant smells old & the dishes are not that clean either.

We always get seated fast and the staff is very friendly! Vincent(at nights) is exceptional. They are usually staffed right at this location making wait times very minimal. The restaurant is clean and the food is good here. Kids eat free Sunday and Monday w paid adult and they have daily specials.

This is an old faithful. The quality of the food is great and no matter which Jim’s Restaurant you go to the taste is thankfully the same consistency which is what is what comes to expect from a chain. The burgers are wonderful you cannot go wrong with any of their burgers.

Pretty good tonite. Not über busy so staff have time to do it right. Cheeseburger was medium rare and ‘charcoally’ in that awesome Jims way. Onion rings also just right. Hasslocher enterprises does need to update this place pretty bad though… But restaurant was clean, just ‘well worn’.

I usually just eat breakfast here, Nothing amazing or out of this world but the pancakes are good. Service is always great, very busy little restaurant but it beats Ihop’s prices. If your a spurs fan… Danny Green usually eats here as well. I’ve seen him multiple times… But save yourself the shame he doesn’t take pictures or sign autographs.

This Jims is like that pain reliever«Icy/Hot» some days good and some BAD. Unfortunately it was BAD and the Manager Rene did not even care as we explained the problem. Took 30 min to get the meal, hash browns were not cooked(never got a new order of them) waiter never brought the refill of hot chocolate that he said he would or sauce that we asked for. But most upsetting was the the lousy attitude of the Manager. He should set the example for his Staff as all good managers should.

Wife and I, feeling peckish(especially me, after DJing an event downtown – UGH — and nor getting to eat), decided that we wanted Applebee’s, but they basically shut down everything after 1AM(yet they advertise that they are open until 2AM…). So, after thinking about what was open at O-God-thirty AM, we flipped a coin between Denny’s and Jim’s. HEADS! JIM’S! Seated at the counter and promptly greeted by Ami. She was patient with us as we decided on an app, the basket. From there, it was basically STEAK and eggs for me, mashed taters for her. And oh, those delicious, fluffy buttermilk biscuits! Everything came out piping hot and fresh. I hadn’t been to a Jim’s in a long time and forgotten how good that Jim’s really is. The recent passing of Mr. Jim Hasselocher(sp?) made me think about his restaurants, and I didn’t realize that he also owns the Magic Time Machine and even got his start in a bicycle shop and started Frontier Burger(WAAAAAAY before my time). So this was a fine way to get a very late dinner/very early breakfast and remember Jim. Service was impeccable, the food was better than outstanding, and we will always be fans of Jim’s!

I was not able to test the food, instead I was able to taste their service, it took about 10 minutes: I’ve walked in with my family(we’re staying at the next-door Holiday In), although it was not as busy as it can be, their waitress keep silicon our table, not even saying«we’ll be right with you». Hope their Managment team get thing right.

I came in for a late breakfast this morning and decided to sit at the bar. Quick and easy. Stephanie was my server and was prompt and very personable. I had the cereal special this morning with grits and fresh fruit. Both were excellent, the grits were very fresh and hot, creamy and free of lumps, thanks. The fruit was a mix of grapes, melon, strawberries, and banana. All fresh and crisp. The coffee was nice and hot as well, thank you for a great visit today.

I don’t know what it is about this place, but it’s damn good. It’s like a Denny’s but local with typical diner fare and breakfast 24 hrs a day. Eric inhaled the chicken fried steak and eggs. I went with the old style diner cheeseburger. Very satisfying.

I have lived close to this location for almost 20 years. Eat here often. This location needs a new management team. Service has gone way down, the restaurant’s cleanliness has gone way down. Come on Jim’s this is not acceptable!

Jim’s is open 24 hours. The most important part, the food, wasn’t very good. The salad tasted like cafeteria food from public school and the blue cheese dressing tasted like ranch. The soup was way too watered down and greasy; I could see the oil floating about. So, the food itself deserves one star. The service, however, was exceptional. The waiter took great care of us, and gave us a free pie at the end because he accidentally dropped a plate near us when he was clearing the table. It could have gotten a bit hectic with a large group, but he took care of the situation very well. So, I bumped the rating to two stars rather than one. I probably won’t go back, though. The food was pretty awful.

In the two years I have lived in San Antonio, I had never eaten at Jims, until the other day. This trip may have been inspired by a particularly booze-filled Friday evening. We ordered their home made cinnamon roll, warmed, with butter. One of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. My friend and I both ordered a simple breakfast with two eggs, hash browns, and bacon. The hash browns were not very tasty. Not a lot of flavor and I like my hash browns crispy… these were not. Jims is just like your average Dennys or IHOP. I don’t consider it a stand out by any means, except for that cinnamon roll. I would like to touch base on our server. Her name was Mary. Here is my complaint: she was definitely older. I have NO problem with that. What bothered me was that I could see that the servers were not given trays to carry food or drinks. I watched Mary struggle carrying things to tables and it really made my heart go out to her. When she poured our coffee, she was shaking. I wish she was in a position that allowed her to sit or to at least be given a tray to carry things. I completely support having elderly people working somewhere. I think it is great that they are an equal opportunity employer. I would just like to see a little more support for some of the staff.

Went to this Jim’s near Huebner and IH-10 for breakfast. All good! Best eggs I’ve had in a year, biscuits huge, light and fluffy, great coffee. The experience was topped off with Cindy, our waitress. She was everything you want in a server: friendly, polite and attentive. Happy to see on her tag that she is a trainer. Hope her trainees learn from her!

If I could give a zero star, I would. The hostess Christine, was hostel to us and an elderly waitress. Yelling at her in front of us and everyone who would walk in. See only seated small groups(1 or 2) fast. She yelled at our direction that we would be waiting a long time. Absolutely the worse experience ever!!!
