On my first and only visit, I noticed that it was messy and unkept. The cashier knew nothing about Mediterranean foods, and the atmosphere sucked. The food was so bad, that I had to return it after the first bite. This place existed to serve pitas to people that don’t know what good food tastes like. I am sorry for any losses sustained by the owners and employees, but you should really get to know your genre of food before you open a restaurant.

Cash is king! I placed an order of $ 35.00 and they won’t deliver unless I pay with a credit card? Wtf? Do I have to pay for the tip before my food is delivered? What if the food sucks? What if the delivery takes forever? How does that compute? Oh well, I’m a good tipper and cash beats credit cards any day of the week! Get your s**t together. Client is always right. Heres a tip, why not call the place back and make sure then order is correct just to double check. I don’t know who would pass on cash for a credit card? ***updated *** Manager contacted me and tried to resolve the problem. I guess miscommunication was the issue. And due to her attempt to rectify the problem I will bump the stars up to 3. The reason, I never even got to try the food, she offered to give me something on the house. Only problem is I was not the only one who wanted to try this yesterday. There were five of us who were craving gyros! After all that I went on to check the Unilocal reviews, it seems like delivery is one of their biggest issues. Aside from all the mixed reviews and personal experience, I see how this manager is there trying to hang in by fixing all these problems. Hey at least she is trying. If you have ever seen«waiting» never piss off the staff or cook, it’s best to just let it go. Even if the food is free, I rather move on and try another place.

Pita Pit was a staple of my undergrad experience(UNC Chapel Hill), and I feel that it very well may be a staple of SDSU as well. Walk in and it’s CLEARLY a college eatery. Very cool staff ready to make your pita just the way you’d like it! I usually go for the Chicken pita, since it’s healthy, and I get to add a ton of things alongside it. Typical order includes that cooked with pesto and hot sauce on a wheat pita, with grilled onions/mushrooms, lots of spinach, tomatoes, plenty of jalapenos, tatziki sauce, and either pepperjack or feta cheese. Avocado is $.75 extra, but I’m a grad student so that’s only when I wish to treat myself! Get the Pita Pit card and you can earn some free pitas every once in a while. Consistent place near SDSU, I recommend!

I’m a sucker for places where you can customize your food, so my first time @ the Pita Pit was great! Imagine going to Subway, but instead of subs, you have pitas! Overall, it was pretty satisfying, tasty, and guilt-free compared to the junk at McDonald’s or Jack in the Box across the street. Pros: –Convenient for us SDSU students –CHIPOTLECHICKENPITA –Healthier than most; wide variety of vegetables to choose from –Made to order –You point out which vegetables you want in your pita as soon as it’s off the grill –No food coma before/during my study sesh –Easy to eat, not messy –Staff is friendly and laid back Cons: –Parking was difficult to find, it’s in the back by the drive way near the gas station and Mexican shop… if you’re at the Jack in the Box/711/Bruxie, it’s the building directly next to it across the stoplight –Good music, but a little bit too loud during my visit

Pita Pit= friendly staff+delicious customizable pitas+coca cola freestyle + fair prices As an SDSU student I love Pita Pit, it is conveniently located and quick. I have been here quite a few times and the staff is always so nice and generally fellow SDSU students which I really appreciate seeing as it is hard to find jobs and go to school. In addition to the staff, the pitas are delicious and they have a great variety of Pita’s on the menu as well as the option to create your own from scratch, like Subway. If you’re looking for something fresh and fast I would definitely recommend stopping by. Also, if you like soda they have one of the new Coca Cola Freestyle machines so if you’re in dire need of the ever elusive Vanilla Coke here is your sanctuary(they also have equally hard to find Peach and Pineapple Fanta).

I only tried the garden pita from this place & it was so good! As a vegetarian/pescatarian there was a decent amount of food I could’ve got, the garden was my first choice but I plan on trying them all. After a long day of class I was exhausted & starving, pita pit was the perfect place to satisfy my growling stomach & not stuff my face at the same time. Being the person that I am, the healthy options at this place definitely made me content, the only reason this isn’t rated 5 stars is because I’m waiting to try even more pitas.

I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACETOANYONE. Short story — cleanliness = NOSTARS My friend and I were a bit hungry and she recommended Pita Pit(which she now regrets). I, being introduced for the first time to what sounded like a good idea, went with her. The guy that took our orders was nice at first. I was thirsty and the guy working told me where to get my drink, I got my ice and chilled water. I walked back over to my friend and the guy making our orders. I noticed the area was not clean and our food was being made on it… I always look at these things, because I like to review helpful in depth Unilocal reviews in all aspects. Didn’t know I should have looked in the ice machine. /: I sipped my straw and as I did I felt something come up. I was already freaking out fearing the worst because it didn’t feel like a small piece of ice but a mushy feeling in my mouth. As I pushed forward what was on my tongue, I took it out with my hands and was disgusted with what I saw. A huge brown bug. I freaked. An actual DISGUSTINGDIRTYFILTHYBUGWASINMYMOUTH. And what did we get out of this horrifying experience? Nothing. but«sorry there is the sink». Really? You can’t even give us one free order? A complimentary drink? As his next coworker came out from the back she laughed at it. Big deal it’s probably funny to someone else, but certainly not professional for someone who works there. Very disappointed. The food was not good, and the service was horrible, all together experience… Dreadful. DONOT recommend. I would never recommend any place that is not clean, especially when it has to do with food. I will voice this out to friends to not go here.

I’m a 1st timer. I just opened a salon/barber shop a few blocks from here. This place is the ish! I love pita and sandwiches. It’s very fresh and delicious. I always like a place where I can see what they add on my sandwich in front of me. The workers are super chill and friendly service. I told them it was my 1st time and they had no problem telling me what was popular item and how this spot works. They even told me and my husband if we would like to leave some advertising or cards for our shop on the table with the others. I will for sure be back.

Pita pit is our new post workout spot. It’s open late and it’s somewhere that fits what we can eat. We’ve become regulars here and David always serves us when we come in at night and he gives great service and is a cool dude. This place is always bumpin good jams and it’s nice to listen to while you’re eating. The pitas on average are around $ 5.50-$ 6.75. I’ve had featured Cali club that has turkey, bacon and avocado(it’s been my favorite so far) as well as the gyro and the sig ep pita. You order first(avocado is extra) and they start grilling your meat and puffing your pitas in a machine. You can choose between wheat or white pitas and then then you direct them to add the fillers you want inside your pita. Same process as at subway. Then it gets rolled up into a burrito and voila! The food and service has always been great here and even though the location is right near the SDSU dorms and common area it’s usually empty. I give four stars because of David’s great service and the taste of the food because otherwise id give 3 stars only because of the cleanliness of the cooking area. You can see everything they do and the area they work in and maybe I look too much but the floor is filthy and the grill looks dirty to me and it always bothers me. The area your pitas are made are clean and neat and they always wear gloves but it just irks me. Clean as you go? Other then that everything is great and well keep coming back here at night after the gym.

Loved it! It was empty when I got in there so as soon as I walked in the worker there greeted me. I let him know i have never been so he was very helpful and explained how to order. There were sooo many options! I got the turkey with grilled mush, onions, and peppers w a mess of veg and honey mustard AND spicy hummus on a wheat pita. It was so very flavorful and pretty big that i could only eat half and prolly didnt need the bag of chips… Lol I was pleased w the vibe in there, an loved the music playin overhead – i found myself singing w Yellowcard while waiting situating myself on one of the tables in front of the tv screen on the sportscenter channel. I left a very happy girl… actually looking forward to class! Just need a nice cup of coffee! ;)

I had a bad experience at this location over a year ago. Because of this bad experience I had not been here since then. I am vegan and asked that the grill be cleaned prior to my spicy black bean patty being placed on it. The staff gave me an attitude and made it very uncomfortable for me. They also made a big deal that I asked for new/clean utensils. It was very awkward. Tonight I decided to give this location another try after receiving an email stating that my Pita Pit points qualified me for a free pita. I am so happy that I did! Brandon, Taylor and David went out of their way to make my VEGAN pita possible. I am so grateful to them all and I will be visiting them again soon :) Thank you for making this a pleasant experience… making it possible for me to enjoy Pita Pit again after all this time. Brandon, Taylor and David all deserve praise and recognition. Kudos to you all.

I have loved this place since my college days. It sucks that they are only around colleges. I usually get the chicken pita… and I add pineapple, mushrooms, sprouts, special sauce, mayo, hot sauce, jalapenos and if they have it chipotle sauce. Sooooo yummy! The guys working at this location were so nice and sweet. Cant wait to go back.

If you go in. this place is great. theres two main guys here and they are the best! they make the best pitas and are very personable and friendly [i believe theyre also the owners] however, if youre wanting delivery. forget it. they can barely hear you on the phone, it takes an hr ATLEAST and even tho i would give them exact directions to my house everytime which was literally RIGHT down the street they would still get lost. very irritated

I used to work here when I was in college, but that was before the original owners sold the franchise after opening the one in PB. I’ve never been disappointed with the food though I do have to agree with a lot of Unilocalers on the price point. It’s really expensive when it comes down to the bottom line. Sure, it’s a healthier option then the taco shop around the corner, but the amount of protein you get is ridiculous. For first timers, here is what I suggest: –Get the gyro, club, or something with lunch meat. You get more bang for your buck that way. The Souvlaki is overpriced and not nearly as good as an authentic greek place. –If you like spicy stuff, try their secret sauce. –unlimited sauces! Try bbq and ranch. It’s almost mind blowing, just saying!
