Came in the morning and was greeted by two ladies very pleasant and friendly. I bought one coconut bread, two custard buns and two mung beans very good though not the best. Parking can be very tight since there were so many business closed by. They only take cash.

I lived in Hawaii on the island of Oahu for some years and I fell in love with manapuas. My favorite was the Char Sui ones and the purple sweet potato ones. This is really the only place that I can find with the baked pork buns that are similar and they’re pretty good. I also tried the coconut and butter rolls and those are pretty tasty as well. They have a couple of other types too that look good. The only time I’ve been is in the morning around 8 or 9am so they’re always fresh. Come with cash because the have a $ 15 limit to use a card.

I like ordering the big tray of banh cuon. The shell is the right thickness for me. For a while I went to Van An but I decided I like the filling here better. Their banh tieu is awesome goodness. Banh cam — the dau xanh used to be the best but now it’s not as crispy so that’s why I knocked off a star. They also are one of the few that have the Sugar Cane drink. I’ve been coming here for years — the ladies here are super sweet. I think two sisters who opened up the place. I think the sons are starting to help out on weekends too which is nice for them because they seem to work quite long hours. I didn’t try their dim sum — I“m more of a fan of the vietnamese stuff.

Been going here on & off for 7 years. Used to love this place for their quality dim sum & cheap pricing. Over the years prices increased & the quality suffered. Nowadays, I only come here once in a blue moon & seems like every time I do, I end up shaking my head in regrets afterwards. Dim sum USED to be freshly made & $ 1.50 for a 3 piece order. NOW it’s $ 2.50 for the same thing. Also there’s been a few times where it seems like they’ve given me old dim sum, like a day old or so. Funny because I’ve been going here for years yet they would do that to me. It’s gotten to the point where they’re pricing me out & the quality & size portion isnt worth it anymore. Other places usually offer a 4pc order for $ 2,00. There’s a restaurant up on Berryessa & White by Piedmont Middle school. They offer fresh quality dim sum for a good price. I had a 3 dishes(4pc order each) plus a Sprite for like $ 8. Over here, I ordered 3 dishes(3pc each) & a soda for $ 10. I dont think I’ll be coming to this place as often as I used to. Its to the point where I come like once every 3 or 4 months in hopes that it’ll get better, quality will improve, price will drop, maybe get more for what you pay for, but nope. It’s sad cuz this place used to be bomb to where alot of ppl I know used to come here. You’re best off going to King Eggroll in the next plaza for To-Go Dim Sum.

The lady working here is very friendly. I’ve tried the BBQ bun n it’s good! Moist, sweet n stuff with meat. I’ve also tried a to go two item plate n that wasn’t bad. Way better than some Chinese fast food I’ve had. I got pork belly n gai LAN both good. Also I tried the banh uot with cha gio whic is steam thin rice noodles. It’s really well made. Very thin, and moist. The fish sauce was made just right. Their combination banh bao is very good. The bread have flavor n not dry or tastesless. It’s moist. The meat inside is flavorful n yummy! Overall they have alot of random items to try. So far everything I’ve tried has been very good. Price is decent.

Tried the dim sum after doing a Unilocal search in my area. Maybe I went on an off day or something because I have no idea how this dim sum can be recommended. I had the pork bun, har gow, shark fin dumpling and quail egg xiu mai. The pork bun was ok but it wasn’t really hot and there was what I’m going to assume was a ball of cheese inside of it. I have never had that before. The har gow was grainy which made me think maybe the shrimp was bad? I hope I don’t get sick. The shark fin, I guess I don’t know what this is supposed to taste like but it didn’t taste good and it smelled funny. The quail egg xiu mai, the egg was tough. I didn’t eat it all because I just was not happy with the taste. Most are 3 pieces for $ 2.50. The pork bun is $ 1.50 I’m not fan and won’t be back for the dim sum. But the other stuff looked interesting.

Authentic Vietnamese deli. Think Lee Sandwiches, at better prices. PRO: Very, very cheap. The two ladies who own the shop are also very sweet. They put everything on happy hour prices in the evening(the food was made that morning). I always get rice noodle + pork(cha) rolls + coconut/butter buns for $ 6 total(2⁄3 meals). CON: Some of the food can be made the night before/morning of, so it’s not superfresh. For simple meals, try it out. The rice plates look dry though, stick with the rice noodle and bakery options + dim sum is solid too.

3 stars for the food, +1 star simply for having a wider and stranger variety of food than most places… not that the food is great, but I’m sure there are some good ones Standard packaged Vietnamese food, bakery, dim sum, hot prepared food, drinks, and some misc items on the menu that I don’t understand. Just having dim sum mixed in there is a pretty neat feat. I always come in for a bottle of sugar cane juice. A little expensive, but extremely concentrated. Just add some water, some ice, and a squeeze of lemon juice. This is also the reason for the 4 star :) Don’t pay too much attention to the hygiene. It’ll make life easier.

I came here before to get a pearl drink. $ 3 for a thai milk tea with pearls, not bad price but I didn’t really like it. Came here a second time after reading the reviews on the dim sum, and I loved it! I got the xiu mai, ha gow(shrimp dumpling), and shark fin dumplings which were all delicious. 3 pieces for $ 2, not bad. I also got 3 bbq pork buns, there could’ve been more meat inside and the bun was sweeter than the ones I’ve had at other places. Will be back for the dim sum! Btw, cash only.

I’m always on a mission to find steamed or baked buns like the manapua I grew up on. We stopped at King Egg Roll first, grabbed a steamed bbq bun and sampled the goodness. But of course it’s similar to every other bun I’ve had in California. Venturing across the street we stumbled upon L&M. After a few glances towards the door, I decided I had to go in. And I am sure glad I did! NOTONLY did they have steamed rice cake(which is so darn hard to find around these parts) but they had the MOSTAMAZING baked buns! After inhaling my first one — i mumbled to my friend that these were — hands down — the best manapua in california. The bun was moist, full of flavor and had the most amazing, perfectly portioned pork inside WITHHARDLYANYFAT! It’s a hole in the wall and cash only spot BUT it’s definately a place where I’ll be often! YUM-O!

Little store with inexpensive Vietnamese deli and pre-packaged food. Picked up a couple of their spring rolls trays for a party and was not disappointed. They have a lot of tradition baked goods that looks interesting. Will probably check this place out again or grab something simple for quick lunch. The old lady working there seemed very friendly.

After a 2 ½ hour drive to San Jose, I just had to stop by L&M Bakery and Deli. After reading the reviews on here, I thought I would swing by and see what all the commotion is about. Let me first say that the customer service here is great! The two elderly ladies that assisted me were always smiling and willing to help me pick out some of their«hot» items; fan favorites, if you will. As you walk in, you will see that the cooked food is on the right, moving towards the rear of the store with tables of freshly made goodies and snacks on the left side. I read that the shrimp rice noodles had little flavor to them, which they did. However, after a couple of bites, I really enjoyed it. If you’re going to by the packaged rice noodles, try dipping them in a sauce. I know that’s not how you eat it, but if you want more flavor, it’s definitely worth trying. The shrimp balls were delicious; with or without the sauce they give you! Yum! I also bought 3 baked BBQ pork buns, a pack of shrimp spring rolls w/peanut sauce, 6 dumplings, and plenty of quail egg xiu mai for me to take back home. As you can tell, I had a little shopping spree in this little bakery. Haha! Not sure if this matters to anybody, but L&M isn’t the best looking or eye-catching bakery you will find. Parking can get crowded since this place shares spots with neighboring businesses. Their dim sum menu is on the wall, along with the other treats they offer. Oh, and just a tip, make sure you bring cash; no cards accepted here. From my experience, I didn’t really find anything bad about this place. Honestly, the only problem I had was when some jackass stole my parking spot. I docked off one star because I did feel as if some of the«hot» items I bought were just warm. It wasn’t really busy when I came by so I’m guessing they just kept their latest batch warm until a lot of people stop by. In addition to that, this is only my first time going here. Maybe after a couple of more trips to L&M, I can throw another star up for them. I definitely enjoyed the items I bought and can honestly say that I will be coming back.

I always stop by at L&M whenever I go to buy TOFU from Huong Vuong Tofu next door! My favorite is their quail eggs siumay. yummy!!! Their siumay, pork ribs and chicken feet are good too. they are $ 2/order.(used to be $ 1.80). The BFLOVES their Baked BBQ Pork Bun $ 1.25 each. and there are certainly a generous portion of BBQ pork that got stuffed inside the bun! I also enjoy browsing through their other Vietnamese snack items and sometimes got take-out from the hot-table(lunch box combo, rice/noodles with whatever dishes you like). I wish I live closer!!!

A gem in the rough when you need some dim sum. I like that they have good hours but yes, cash only. Interesting finds: –quail egg xiu mai good eats: taro pearl tea shark fin sesame balls shrimp balls rice cakes custard buns and custard tarts moji(mochi?)filled with coconut and peanut or mung bean 50 cents each pork xiu mai and more. the banh mi and shrimp spring rolls were ok… 3 pcs of dumplings for $ 2 will try their coffee, a couple of small tables, it’s pretty crowded so it’s better as a place to grab snacks and go. the ladies are pretty nice here

Con: accepts only cash, limited on choices Pro: their shiu mai was good and plump and reasonably price, their customer service was quite friendly, and they serve dim sum all day long. Too bad I didn’t see any other items enticing enough to want to try. If I am too lazy to stand in line for Hong Kong Saigon or too strapped for cash for ABC Seafood Restaurant, then I’d definitely come here because of its convenience.

I’m a big fan of Dim Sum & i loveee Dim Sum in this place! This restaurant opens 7 days/week from 7am-8pm and they serve dim sum the whole day from opening until closing which is really cool because most Chinese restaurants only serve dim sum in the morning. I can get my favorite ha cao and xiu mai anytime during the day in here. I think the price is pretty cheap, $ 2 for 3 pieces of dim sum! Besides dim sum, they have steamed bun and baked bun, I have to say that they have the best steamed bun in town! i just can’t get enough of those BBQ pork bun, Chicken & Jumbo pork. Talking about baked bun, you can’t miss their BBQ pork & Coctail baked bun, those are their speciaties and those are also my favorite =).

Alright so as for the ordinary lunch foods such as dim sum, steamed pork buns, this place is good, but pretty typical. It’s VERY decent priced, $ 2 for a large pork bun, or $ 2 for a series of 3 mini bbq pork ones. The pricing is typical when it comes to the dimsum. But what you need to try here is the crunch rice that is packaged, it’s folded like a crêpe on the silver table and note to self THEYSELLOUT almost everyday so you have to come early. For $ 3, it’s sooooo good, crunch, salty, but somewhat sweet. So good! The meat they stuff it with is a chinese sausage/shredded pork mixture, in between crunch rice. An amazing creation. I prolonged writing this review because Id idn’t want more competition when buying the crispy rice, but I must spread the goodness. that’s how much I love all you Unilocalers. I
