To add to my huge distatse for this waste of space in the foodcourt… Why I ask you, is it called Cajun Grill when there is no cajun food? I once asked what their specials were and it was all chinese. I went a step further and asked if they had cajun food and the chinese woman didnt seem to understand the word… Warning sign right there.

The owner working the stand is so nice. I think he is Chinese, but he makes good Cajun style food for a food court. While walking by he called me over for a free sample. I never passed on free food in my life, so I took it. Well, I liked the free sample so much I decided to order some food. After I ate the food I talked to the owner about different stuff. He told me how Barry Bonds was there and he ate his food too just a couple hours earlier. I guess he told me this because I was wearing my Giants cap.

has to be my favorite mall food ever. their main dish is bourbon chicken… i don’t know if there’s really any bourbon in there, but the sauce is sweet and spicy, and the chicken is chopped up. their lemon chicken is comparable to panda’s orange chicken, imho. they have blackened chicken which was dry to me, but everything else, including the sides, are delish!

So the other day I was at Hillsdale Mall and decided to grab some food at the food court. Coming down the escalator into Food 31, I notice a server at Kelly’s Cajun Grill handing out samples of lemon chicken on a toothpick. Sure, it’s a little strange finding Chinese fast food at a Cajun restaurant, but hey, it’s a food court – authenticity is always a lower priority. After scouting my options, I noticed that Panda Express was the only restaurant where people were lining up for orders and I was in the mood for some chow mien and orange chicken. I didn’t want to wait, so I settled for Kelly’s. Different name, same stuff. No wait.
