Terrible service. Took us an hour to get our appetizer and drinks. We won’t be going back.

Went there after the St. Patty’s Day 5 mile race. Food was very good, service was efficient. I really enjoyed the Bloody Mary bar, and I recommend it to all my friends!

This place is amazing, I love the ambience and the vibe it has, and of course the bloody Mary bar is legit! I had the salmon crêpe and I thought it was delicious but the potatoes as a side was not really anything special and thought it was actually not paired well. Overall good experience though and would definitely come back to have the bloody Mary’s and try the mimosas as well. Super cute place and it seems like it would be good for groups as well!

Went to a reception last night of some friends. It was a great venue. The food was good. We where in the Annex room, but they also have a bar and restaurant. My husband and our friend are huge Blues hockey fans and they wanted to watch the playoff game so we went next door. The restaurant/bar part was quite and nice with a few televisions. Parking was easy considering the location. If you want a great venue for a reception or reunion this is a great place.

To start out with the area is super nice from a visitor’s perspective. It is located in the charming Lafayette Square district. They have lights at night that caught my attention so the next morning I went and visited the place. To my surprise there was a running event happening that same morning but my waiting time was less than 20min for a table to seat six people. The brunch, although it was only 9:45am, was great!!. The menu has a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. AND there is also an all-you-can-drink Bloody Mary and mimosa bar with unlimited snacks. I was jealous of the plates my friends ordered, especially the Eggs Benedict! The Biscuits and Gravy plate was tasty, but I felt like they could have added more meat to it. The layout is very interesting; décor was inspired by the original purpose of the wire factory/warehouse.

Tried out Sqwires for brunch this past Sunday. We were able to get a table without having to wait even though there was 6 of us so that was great! If they didn’t have a Bloody Mary/Mimosa bar they would get one star from me. The Bloody Mary bar was equipped with any topping you would need and anyone could easily skip ordering from the menu and snack on what this bar has to offer. I ordered the egg white breakfast sandwich with feta and mushrooms on an English muffin. I could have made one at home better than what I ate here. The server was kind enough to split our checks, but I paid with cash and she never came back with the change. So she got a hefty tip considering I left the restaurant without realizing that I never got change back. I would only suggest a trip to brunch here if you plan on just drinking and maybe snacking from the bloody mary bar.

I’ve been here a couple times for brunch and once for dinner and drinks for a birthday party. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Both brunch experiences were fantastic! There is an all-you-can-drink Bloody Mary and mimosa bar I have yet to partake in. The brunch food was delicious. Lots of unique choices that seem to change seasonaly. When visiting for dinner and drinks, our waitress was a bit off. She had difficulty hearing our orders and often forgot who she had and had not helped. After getting a round of drinks, she had to leave for a «personal/family emergency» according to the manager. Our new waitress seemed a bit annoyed to take on our full table, but was better by the end of the night. While I enjoyed my Jack & Coke, others in my group were underwhelmed and sent a couple of their drinks back. My food was good and I don’t believe there were any problems for anyone else. A great place to take out-of-town guests. There are also several event spaces. Very interesting, eclectic décor that is inspired by the original purpose of the warehouse — a wire factory. Also, located in the charming Lafayette Square district.

This place is awesome. Their Bloody Mary bar is ridiculous. So amazing and so many great toppings. Their southern omelette is incredible. The gravy is so good. Make a reservation so you don’t have to wait. Mimosa bar is also cool. Lots of juices and some fruit.

I am giving it four stars for the service. We had the most adorable waitress. She was funny. When we told her that the chicken was dry, she asked us if we would like some butter!!! She was totally serious! While butter makes everything delicious, it won’t make dry chicken moist. She did get the manager and they re-fired it and it was fine. There was also another waiter,(tall, skinny, curly hair), we were seated by the fireplace. He came over and fixed the fire as it was going out. He made sure it was not too hot. He was funny and very personable. He could have walked right by and done nothing. The manager was also very friendly and made sure that everything was okay. Mussels were very good and my oyster stew was outstanding. A beautiful old building in Lafayette Square with lots to look at inside. Very cozy atmosphere. I wish I knew our waiters name(young, very pretty Asian girl)…thanks for the good service.

Sqwires is a delight to both the eyes and the tummy! We checked it out today for the firs time for post-mass brunch. Upon walking in, I immediately fell in love with the décor. I can’t explain how beautiful and unique it is. From the bar, the lighting, to the massive indoor fireplace, I had something to look at the whole time. The restaurant was so clean, with everything neatly placed. Our waitress was pleasant and just attentive enough. The menu presented some delicious options for breakfast, as well as vegan and vegetarian options. Our meal came out within 10 minutes of ordering– so quick! I thoroughly enjoyed the traditional breakfast fare and ate until I couldn’t any more. The portion sizes were perfect and the price point was really agreeable. I can say that we will definitely be back for dinner sometime and to enjoy the mimosa and Bloody Mary bar after lent!

Decent restaurant but overpriced for sure. Best thing about Sqwires is their beautiful Lafayette Square location and the Banana Foster French Toast available during Sunday brunch only. They have a wide variety of wines, outside seating which is very nice during summer months and plenty of parking available on the shared lot. The lot is open to residents and several other businesses in close proximity so on gorgeous days it can fill up fast. Fret not, there’s street parking and other small lots close enough to park and walk a bit. If you’re in the area stop in, the building alone is worth seeing. The service and food aren’t necessarily wow factors. ~Christy

This is by far the best happy hour in the wonderful city of St. Louis! Drink Specials and Happy Hour menu is by far superior to all places around! Sqware Plate Tuesdays is where you want to be after a long day at work. Sit back and relax with a local craft beer or $ 2 off their speciality cocktails. You’re welcome!

Eh. I’ve definitely had better in many departments. The one thing this place had going for it was the décor. The service was slow, the food was OK, and the music, although enjoyable(and live) was WAY too loud. I ordered the salmon bagel. Only had one choice of bagel(plain) so subbed for a whole wheat English muffin. Cream cheese was pretty flavorless, and the salmon looked like leftover baked salmon, not the traditional smoked salmon the menu claimed. Additionally, it was served with a mountain of sliced onions(not shaved, which is what I expect and then menu said). It wasn’t bad food, but not exactly what I was hoping for or worth the price. Plus it was pricey. Others’ food looked OK, but nothing I was dying to try. Won’t be recommending or head back. Better places to brunch in STL.

My favorite thing about Sqwires is the Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar. For the Bloody Mary, they give each person a huge bottle of Bloody Mary and you can add all sorts of garnishes/pickles/vegetables/bacon to your cocktail to create your own work of art. Their Mimosa Bar has a variety of juices you can use to make your own mimosa. The brunch food was just ok/not very memorable. No one complained about their food but no one was raving about it either.

A local gem for brunch! I loved their vegan menu options including the house made veggie sausage and tofu scramble. The potatoes were great as were the english muffins. The service was attentive and friendly, while still having that fun Sunday vibe. We also were treated to a great local piano player to kick the day off right. The juice/mimosa bar is also a fun and clever idea to get everyone to pick their favorites. Definitely check it out!

Fantastic brunch spot! Yes, the Bloody Mary Bar is out of this world — but everything else is great as well. Admittedly, I have only been here for breakfast, but I can’t help but assume their lunch and dinner menus are on par in terms of quality. I got the omelet rancheros and my husband got the biscuits and gravy. While the portions are on the smaller side considering the price, the quality of fresh ingredients and presentation make up for that. The menu is vegetarian and vegan friendly as well. The building also has a rich history — apparently it was a bed factory at one point! The history is highlighted on the back of their menu and it was a surprisingly interesting read while waiting for our food.

Setting and ambiance rule this experience. The building is beautiful, the place settings handsome, and the waitstaff were very attentive and professional. The mimosa and bloody mary bar were very, very impressive. The food… it was passable. That sounds snobby, but the food just didn’t live up to what the rest of the picture suggested. The banana french toast I had was unbalanced on the sweet side and the bread was dry in places. I tried a bite of the buckwheat pancakes and they, too, were a little lackluster. If you go, go for the setting and brunch booze.

It seems that my one time experience contrasts many of the otter Unilocal reviews, so, dear reader, take it or leave it: –the Bloody Mary bar is stunning– for $ 13 they provide you with a mini pitcher of juice/vodka that creates a little more than two bloody Mary’s. The mix could use a little more vodka but let’s talk about the garnishes — there were at least 30 of them ranging from pickled zucchini and crispy bacon to horseradish and stuffed olives. I enjoyed that this was also a mimosa bar so you can find some sweeter options like melon and poppyseed on the bar. No joke– you can make a meal out of this bar– if I return again, that’s all I’ll order. My actual meal was the buckwheat pancakes with added blueberries– delicious but not remarkable. The show stealers of our visit were the space(historical and preserved with lofty ceilings and an outdoor patio) and the Bloody Mary/mimosa bar. Our server was attentive and prices seemed pretty standard for brunch.

Before going to Sqwires for the first time, I read a TON of reviews about bad service. Now that I’ve been there, I definitely see what people are talking about. However, things ended up working out just fine for my friend and me. First off, my friend and I hadn’t seen each other in a month and had a lot to catch up on, so the extremely slow service didn’t bother us too much. Secondly, our most expensive item was comped due to the waitresses error. Now, to the food. My friend ordered the Smoked Pork Tacos. Although the sriracha gave it a bit more of a kick than she expected, she said she enjoyed it. I ordered the burger with blue cheese and a side of chips. Unfortunately, I thought that both the burger and the chips were under seasoned. The real highlight of the evening was the Tasting Board! The bacon wrapped dates were amazing, because how could they not be?! The fennel sausage was great with the whole grain mustard. And the goat cheese was fantastic with the honeycomb!
