I stop in this little shop almost every day when I am working in DC. This little shop is jam packed with a very large variety of cold beverages and snacks. They have excellent coffee too. I love that I can grab some fresh fruit to have a snack at work. They offer a nice selection of nuts as well. It is a great place to grab a lottery ticket if you are feeling lucky :-). What I love about this place is that it is family owned and operated. These people work so hard. I think it is important to support independent small businesses, and try my best to support whenever I can.

If the jackpot is more than $ 100 million, get your lotto tickets at off hours. If it is above $ 200 million, there will be no off hours. Write down all of your numbers on the bet slip prior to getting up to the terminal. Or else… you will be directed to write all of your numbers down and get back in line. That didn’t happen to me. I did see it happen to someone else. Now, you’ve been warned. I didn’t get the coffee here. But I was eyeing the wine. Seemed reasonable. For cold Sutter Home.

Yes, the best coffee in the area, everyone else tends to go with the burnt taste of Starbucks, even the Holiday Inn. The Gallery Shop has Vermont Roasters, much smoother and when fresh, it rocks. Friendly service and the Powerball sales center for the area.

Spend your days around L’enfant Plaza? Forget Starbucks, Vie de France, and the other Starbucks, because THIS is the best coffee in the area. No, seriously, in the morning when this coffee is fresh, it is easily as good as any of those chains. Plus, it’s a little cheaper and you don’t have to wait in a dreadful mob to order it. No, you won’t be getting a triple-tall skinny half-caff crappacino with extra foam at The Gallery Shop, but you also won’t be getting made fun of by me. And by the way, this place is also a well-stocked, reasonably priced convenience store with wrapped sandwiches, breakfast foods, and a pretty good selection of sodas and snacks, and even a few selections of beer. [ETA: The coffee at McDonalds two blocks away is cheaper and maybe a little better. But it’s McDonalds.]
