What’s better than amazing? I’ve never had a plate I didn’t like. Every sushi roll is so fresh. All the apps are big portions & delicious. It’s crazy how fast yor food comes out & the place is mobbed. You can have a great drink &1 roll & be completely satisfied. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I do wish it was a little bigger but I honestly have never had a problem get in seated. By far best sushi spot in Worcester.

Our experience here was average inspite of all the great reviews and I will explain the reason during the course of this review. We had a reservation on a Friday evening and had to wait for a short while in the tiny lobby while they readied our table. We saw the cramped tables and the bar area and thought that this was going to be a rather cozy affair with strangers. When the hostess showed us our table, we snaked through all of this and went to the back where it opened up into a relatively large cabin-like room which made us breathe a sigh of relief. They had heaters hung from the ceiling on this cold evening which we thought was perfect. Unfortunately the moment we sat down we felt an ice-cold draft of air from under the walls. By the end of the dinner, both our legs from the ankles downwards were frozen. I felt my hands under the wall and found that they had air cushions inserted to prevent the cold draft from getting in. They were completely ineffective. Onto the food — we had Shumai and the Kani Baba for appetizers both of which were delicious. The sushi was average and I’ve had better. The drinks were again average. The sake sangria was a bit watered down and tasted neither like sake nor sangria. The white chocolate martini started off with a liqueur taste and then gradually sweetened. The service was extremely slow although the waiter was trying his best to keep up with all the tables. The bottom line is that I think this place is decent but rather overrated.

Baba advertises it’s one of the 100 best in the US, and while I can’t dispute this, I can say I’ve had better in land-locked Colorado. Baba is no slouch! I love the atmosphere, and the wine list was adequate. I was impressed they don’t serve eel sauce(bane of my existence) on their rainbow roll! Didn’t get the chance to check out dessert, but did have the pleasure of sampling several rolls. I will say that I’m not a big sauce person, so peanut sauce on a sushi roll isn’t my thing. All in all, it’s a great place for sushi. Jury is out whether it’s top 100.

Can’t go wrong here. Outstanding menu and full bar. Be sure to try the tiger eye roll, but it’s all good!

Without a doubt the best sushi I have ever had! I refuse to go elsewhere now. The Godzilla roll was to die for along with the butterfly roll. Overall very delicious. Our waitress was just adorable and so sweet! She constantly came over to check on us and made us feel very welcome! 3 sushi rolls out in less than 5 minutes, very fresh and the staff is so nice! 10⁄10 I can not rave enough about this place!

It’s kind of rare that I give a 5-star rating and don’t get me wrong, there were a couple of things I noticed last night that I wasn’t a fan of at Baba, however; based on my overall experience, it was definitely 5-star. I’d never even heard of this place until a friend and I went for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We arrived around 6:45’ish to a 70% full house but were seated within a minute of walking in the door. I noticed outside they were proudly displaying a banner announcing they’re one of the top 100 restaurants in the country. Our hostess took us through the oddly shaped layout to the back room which is past the bar area with some small tables(one of which is HORRIBLY placed and totally in the way, it’s a big drawback) over a little walkway, down some steps and into a decent sized room. I didn’t count the tables down there but if I had to take a stab at it, I’d say 10 – 12 of a good mix of small/large tables. Baba is a great restaurant for a date night because of the sleek, dark and comfortable atmosphere. A moment after we were seated a waitress came over to take our drink order, which came out quickly and then we placed our food order. I ordered a house salad, which came out quickly and was fresh and pre-mixed with the house ginger dressing which is perfect. I also ordered the lobster tail roll with cream cheese, avocado and shrimp, which also came out quickly and it was very delicious. I couldn’t tell you exactly what my friend ordered but one had banana in it, either way; he was pleased. Baba does offer more than just sushi for those picky eaters or someone not in the mood for it and it’s your basic noodles and soups. I do have to say that the menu is a bit pricey but it’s well worth it because the food is top-notch with super fresh ingredients and the service is fast and friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Sushi lovers can rejoice knowing that Baba exists in Worcester, of all places. It’s a great place with a well-deserved great reputation. The staff is nice, the drinks are great, and the sushi… well, it’s really the best in the city. I am consistently impressed at their ability to whip up a plate of 4 – 5 different rolls in minutes. The ambiance is lovely, and I recommend sitting inside the main restaurant whenever possible. MAKERESERVATIONS.

It is not a controversial opinion to say that Baba has the best sushi in the area. They are a little more expensive than a few of the other restaurants but I think you will agree that it is well worth it. I enjoyed the rolls I had although I personally stick to maki so I cannot speak to their nigiri or sashimi.

Godzilla Roll is heavenly. All their maki rolls are great. Best sushi far and wide. Seaweed salad is good, shumai is great, but I always burn my mouth on it in excitement. I usually go here with my mom so I don’t pay too much attention to prices(spoiled, I know) but it seems reasonable for the quality of food and the service. We usually have this cool girl with brown curly hair as our waitress and she is awesome. The patio/outdoor(but actually enclosed) area is great, I see a lot of couples come here on dates. I’m not jealous though, cause no one’s cooler than Mom.

Freshest sushi in Worcester hands down. I mean did you go out back and fish the tuna just now?! I’m one of those people, where if the place doesn’t look clean and the fish doesn’t look fresh I will not eat it. As it should be right? It’s RAW after all. This place does it right though I mean the fish tastes like it’s JUST been caught and the presentation is flawless. I genuinely wonder how much it costs to have all those orchid flower garnishes on every plate. But anyways the only real annoyances is that the place is TINY which means that when it gets busy, good luck trying to get a table.

I am a regular here. I try to venture out and go to other sushi restaurants and I simply cannot. Why? Because this is simply the best sushi in the Boston area. I always get the Dragon’s Breathe sushi roll, it has an amazing kick to it. I also always get the spider roll has an awesome crunch to it. The Haru Maki which is usually a special is one of the most excellent sushi rolls. If you are adventurous, definitely try everything! Such a great environment. A great date night idea or even a great evening with friends and family! Wilson the owner is a great guy too!

Came here for lunch and must say I was impressed. They offer both inside and enclosed patio seating which is cool; it has a cozy ambience. They have a lot of unique rolls as well. I ended up ordering the spicy jellyfish salad and the king crab roll, both which were delicious! I would definitely come back to try more!

If you love sushi and happen to be in or passing through Worcester(or anywhere close to Worcester) be sure to visit Baba!!! I was first introduced to sushi by some Japanese colleagues while on a business trip to San Francisco back in the 80s. It’s been a favorite of mine ever since. However, I was never able to find anything here in the Boston area that matched my SF sushi dining experiences for many years. Enter Wilson Wang. I first encountered Wilson behind a sushi bar in Chestnut Hill nearly 20 years ago… And I have been following him wherever he’s been behind the sushi counter ever since. These days Wilson is chef /owner of Baba Sushi in Worcester. I used to live in Worcester, so Baba was my regular(only) sushi spot for many years. Then I moved closer to Boston and I rarely found myself in Worcester(and I discovered other«suitable» places closer to the city). But I always had a yearning to go back to Baba. Yesterday, on the way home from Western Mass., I finally had a chance to return to Baba. As always, it was awesome! The sushi is always fresh, expertly prepared and presented, and the house specialty maki rolls melt in your mouth with their amazing combinations of fish, veggies and sauces. Yesterday, our Cucumber Sashimi and Scallop Ceviche(I forget the actual name) maki rolls were amazing. And the Eel and Yellow Fin sashimi was super fresh and tasty. I LOVETHISPLACE!!! And I cannot wait to get back to Baba.

The good Very cute though tiny décor. Very sexy cool. Great and inventive cocktail selection. Massive rolls. Super friendly attentive service. Good price point. The bad Fish quality was ok. Far from the best sushi. I like hand rolls(less rice more seaweed) and for some reason they only would make 30 percent of their rolls as handrolls. If I came back might just hit the bar and try some non sushi apps to see if quality better.

THEBESTSUSHIINWORCESTER… HANDSDOWN!!! Actually some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. My wife and I eat here frequently. Other then the great sushi, they have great service and hospitality. My wife & I ate here in our anniversary and the owner came over just to check on how we were. We told him everything was wonderful and it was our anniversary and before we knew it he was returning with shots of saki. He told us «No celebration is complete without Saki». I recommend you try the Torch Maki and the Dragon’s Breath Roll

Best sushi place ever. My sister lives in LA and when she comes home she HAS to go to Baba!(She can’t find a better place in LA, and that’s saying a lot!) We always get the park ave maki which has shrimp tempura, asparagus, eel sauce, and cream cheese. It’s served semi warm and it’s amazing! We also get the Godzilla maki which has banana tempura, tuna, scallions, and spicy mayo. Banana tempura sounds weird, but it REALLY works! Then we like to experiment with different rolls and they all have been spectacular. Always fresh, everything you order will be perfect, you can’t go wrong!

This place had great ratings on Unilocal and we had to try it. I love the décor of the restaurant, but it was rather small and the table/seats were a little uncomfortable. However, the food made up for the uncomfortableness. I ordered some type of roll that had banana in it(Godzilla?) and I had my doubts, but man was it good! I also had the regular philly roll, etc… that was good as well. However, the best part was the Gluten Free desserts! My friend had the GF key lime cheesecake, while I had the GF chocolate cake. OMG… THEBEST! I would just eat there for the desserts. Overall, great place to try.
